  1. Cant' wait to see tomorrow's hangover lineup. Whitcomb, Kessinger, Salazar all should be starting Let Kikuchi toss a few innings just to stay on schedule and then have Dubin/Ferguson/Ort/King eat the rest.
  2. Mariners have mastered the art of hanging on for dear life the final 2 weeks of the season and making things interesting.
  3. Still in a decent position to win the division even if we were to drop this one tonight and get swept tomorrow. Would need 1 win vs. CLE and 1 M loss or 2 wins vs. CLE.
  4. 94 yesterday, so the streak ends at 10. Looks like we've got about 36 more hours until this front makes its way down to Houston tomorrow evening. Tonight should be the last night where the low doesn't get out of the high 70's for a while. Whole bunch of warm, sunny days with cooler mornings and evenings on the extended forecast for 9/26-10/6. Average High of 92, Average Low of 71. "Second Summer" is on its way out for now. I propose we call the next 2 weeks to follow "Pseudo Fall" maybe?
  5. Yordan officially has a sprained right knee. Not available this week.
  6. Not that it mattered since we could only muster 1 run on 4 hits, but the C Team bullpen came in and surrendered 5 runs on 10 hits and a walk over 3 innings Need 7 strong out of Framber tomorrow.
  7. Night fellas. Flush this one down the fucking toilet and close it out tomorrow.
  8. Really would like to wrap things up today or tomorrow. Not really in the mood for a stressful game Wednesday hoping to avoid a sweep.
  9. Official high of 95 at IAH yesterday, so the streak made it to 10. Gonna be a nail biter to see if reaches 11 today. All depends on if we end up getting some afternoon showers or not. It's disgusting out there this morning.
  10. Got an unexpected round of showers this evening, which was nice, but a side effect was that it kicked the humidity into high gear. Getting close to 9 pm and it's 83 with a heat index of 90. I will not be sad to see evening like this go anytime soon. Looks like 2 more Muggy AF days with before this next front makes its way to Houston late Wednesday. I'm counting down the hours at this point.
  11. Damn. Rally falls short. Oh well. Just get 1 W in these next 3 and it's time to party.
  12. C'mon Rangers. Time to walk off.
  13. 3 hits, 2 walks, 4 earned runs in 1/3 of an inning. Gotta be his worst appearance of the entire season?
  14. The Neto Game.
  15. Jesus. This game is killing me today. So much for a relaxing Sunday.
  16. What a pinch hit Rookie!
  17. Wow. First oppo shot for Bregman all year. Only 14 in his whole career out of 190 total.
  18. It's officially Fall in the Northern Hemisphere. Autumnal Equinox occurred about 2 hours ago. Change in the weather pattern ahead. Looks like clouds today should keep us from extending the streak of 95+. Noticeably nicer mornings and evenings on tap starting Wed/Thu with dewpoints in the 50's. Still gonna be quite warm in the afternoons, but not oppressive, featuring lower humidity. Houston area looks like we should get a least a little rain to start the week. No such luck for Central Texas.
  19. Took a 60 mph lob off the elbow pad. I think he'll survive.
  20. I like Dingers. If we played the Angels for 162 games, would we do better or worse than 120-42?
  21. One or two more hot swampy days to cap off this unprecedented heat wave, and then things start getting a little more reasonable. Light at the end of the tunnel. I think I'm more excited about the lows dropping to low 70's than the highs dropping to low 90's. The low in Houston has been 77 or 78 every day since the 13th. It's gross even early in the morning and late at night.
  22. nate this year. Hoping to keep my recent streak of W's going tonight. Welp, got what I asked for. Got the W. Got to see a bunch of XBH and HR. Beyond all that, I was there to see the informal end of the career of one of the best pitchers in the history of the sport. 3 innings where he was everything he had ever been, and then he turned back into an injury-riddled 41 year old. IT got a bit dusty watching Old Man JV walk off to a standing ovation and tap his chest, knowing it was over. What a fucking ride we've had with that guy since the late season trade in '17.
