  1. His iconic album. Gone too soon.
  2. actually there were five, because the The Whistler was broken out at the end. Teelings small batch - came in last. Knappogue 12 and 16. - 16 was preferred, but neither had much complexity. We also tasted a bottle of The Exclusive Malts which was fantastic.
  3. Had an Irish tasting a few weeks back. This was the overall winner of the four bottles tasted. As mentioned earlier, Green and Yellow Spot are also awesome (and were not on the menu for the tasting as we were going for brands not as recognizable). The Whistler 10 year also fared well in the tasting:
  4. I like that he had a picture at the top of Monteagle. Still don't see trucks scooting up that hill quickly. A place so notorious that two songs were written about it.
  5. Gronk seems like he would be a fun guy to hang out with for a few days
  6. Rays sign Blake Snell to five years - $50mil. That seems like a decent deal for the Rays. I bet Keuchel puckered up upon hearing that.
  7. I think this place is restricted Yang, so don't tell 'em you're Jewish....OK fine.
  8. I certainly didn’t mean to over pay him. Offer him two years $25mil. ill check with my high ranking guy next time we have cocktails.
  9. Now go sign Dallas to two years and start making room in the trophy case
  10. Stoop-shouldered and sinisterly handsome, he slouches against the wall of the saloon, a filter cigarette in his teeth, collar open, perfectly happy and self-assured, gazing through the uneven darkness to sort out the winners from the losers. As the girls come by wearing their miniskirts, net stockings, big false eyelashes, long pressed hair and soulless expressions, he grins approvingly and says, "Hey, hold it, man—foxes." It is Joe Willie Namath at play. Relaxing. Nighttiming. The boss mover studying the defensive tendencies of New York's off-duty secretaries, stewardesses, dancers, nurses, bunnies, actresses, shopgirls—all of the people who make life stimulating for a bachelor who can throw one of the best passes in pro football. He poses a question for us all: Would you rather be young, single, rich, famous, talented, energetic and happy—or President?.....................................Easing into the clubs and restaurants that he frequents, Joe Willie handles his role well. "Don't overdo it, man," he says. "I can hang around till 3 or 4 and still grab my seven or eight." He sits, he eats, he sips, he smokes, he talks, he looks, and maybe he scares up a female companion and maybe he doesn't. "I don't like to date so much as I just like to kind of, you know, run into somethin', man," he says. https://www.si.com/vault/1966/10/17/614136/the-sweet-life-of-swinging-joe
  11. went this past Sunday. They didn't have the short rib so I ordered the filet, fatty brisket, and meatball. Damn fine Pho and huge portions. So much so that it became two meals. Will go again.
  12. best comment i read so far about the contract length. "There are Phillies fans not yet born that will be throwing batteries at him in the later years of this contract".
  13. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lauda_Air_Flight_004 wonder if it was a thrust reverser issue? I'm assuming at 7000ft that would be pretty damn catastrophic
  14. The one-time when it was actually a good choice to marry a stripper
  15. Bregman is the guy you sign to a long-term deal. Springer and Altuve of course. Correa........all depends on the back.
  16. CEO shown the door and former CEO put back in place.
  17. I wonder if Houston offered him something higher earlier in the process?
  18. she probably stopped giving BJ's and was spending too much $. Pretty simple and "Orchids of Asia" is my new fantasy football team name.
  19. Yes. Ya the mid level accountant at dynegy (young girl who had to cop a plea) and her boss (who it think might still be in prison).
  20. Yep _ i know one of those guys. He didn't cave and take a plea - fought the government and won. Cost him a bunch of money
  21. what's the behind the scenes story on the upheaval at Pioneer?
  22. rumor from another site: story going around now about what happened: Cop high up in HPD has a kid hooked on heroin. Cop's kid buys from and sells for the couple that was killed. High ranking HPD officer goes to Goines and asks him to execute a warrant on the house to take out the couple to help the High ranking officer deal with his kid. Goines gets the no-knock warrant based on a CI that doesn't exist. The imaginary CI is actually the High ranking HPD officer's kid and the tip comes from the high ranking HPD officer. All hell breaks loose on the scene. Acevedo and the HPD Police Union rally around Goines to protect the high ranking HPD officer that Goines was helping. It will probably all come out now that the FBI is involved. Not sure about the validity. One thing that has been hard to understand is why would Goines go after this couple - what was the motive? They had no priors, apparently no heroin, or apparently anything like a drug distribution center set up at that house. A personal vendetta of some sort made more sense - and maybe this is the personal part. Even if the above rumor is true (that the couple sold drugs), the no-knock is bullshit, and he needs to be serving time for lying to get the warrant, and killing two citizens. Also said high ranking HPD offer needs to be joining him. If I'm the judge that signed that warrant "I want some some butt!"
  23. The Valentines Day episode was great. Love this show
