  1. One likes to believe in the freedom of musicBut glittering prizes and endless compromisesShatter the illusion of integrity
  2. I can't disagree. I prefer the Exit Stage Left live version myself. It may be one of the most incredible live performances I have ever seen. Rush at the top of their game.
  3. The Oh no song by Kreepa or whoever the fuck it is makes me want to drown a bag of Kittens.

    South Park

Best episode I have seen in a while.
  5. That pic is depressing. I saw Genesis in the Astrodome many moons ago. It was a great show.
  6. I got a chuckle thinking about what a SWA club would look like. I m picturing the soda and fatty snack aisle at walmart.
  7. Finishing up week 5 and still sober. I appreciate all the info and advice. I seem to be getting into a good routine and doing just fine. Go to the Dr next week for check up. Curious to see how that goes since they are doing blood work.
  8. When I was in Austria the breakfast spread at the hotel was hilarious. So much food and so rich. For the life of me I cannot figure out how everyone there is so thin. All they do is drink, smoke, and eat a lot of food that is very unhealthy. But I loved it.
  9. Still going here, still fighting the good fight. The wife is coming around since she is seeing that I am serious about being committed to family and not the alcohol. The first couple weeks were pretty rough. She has let me know where I fucked up, but I think it was good for her to get things off her chest. I am in place where I am accepting responsibility for my actions so I am willing to listen. But we have decided that the milk is spilled and there is no need to dwell too long on it, but to move forward. Sleep is hit or miss, and my diet is kind of off, strange cravings and such. I have not been to the gym in a while and I am having trouble getting motivated to go. There is booze in the house, but I am not craving it, I think my body just does not want it and is wanting this change. The real challenge will be when the wife leaves town for a few days and if I have the self control to stay sober. I tell myself that I can, and that the breaking of the trust that I am trying to rebuild with her is worth the work. I know the second I take a sip of booze I have to start all over again. I know the that starting over will be harder than the first time. With both the alcohol and the wife. Someone said it here already, I would rather have zero drinks, than just one. I can't have just one, no matter how loud that voice that is trying to trip me up tells me I can drink. Fuck that guy.
  10. Film crew knew what they were doing on that episode.
  11. I am joining this club. I have not had a drink since Jan 30th. I have a therapist helping me and for now that is working. I am embarrassed, and ashamed at my behavior. I have let it get out of control and said and done things that at the time were not me. I have no memory of the crap I have put my wife through. But she remembers and she has shared those with me, and I have to live with that. January was the last straw and it is time to be a better husband, father, overall person. I would like to share more but my thoughts are all over the place. I may be losing my wife. Demons are very real.
  12. So, wife and I were in Vegas week before last and everything was fine. The day we come home she starts feeling bad. Get home and we instantly isolate ourselves from the kids. Next day I have a fever, and we go and get tested. Both of us positive. It wasn't all that bad, it just won't go away. She is about 100% now, and I am about 90% this morning. But it came in waves for me. Fever would go away but I was so exhausted, nagging cough etc. Today I finally feel more myself, brain cloud is lifting. Technically out of the quarantine period, but still playing it safe.
  13. Oilers fan says fuck the Bills forever. Glad to see them lose again. And if you want to cry about the rules. Stop the other team from scoring and moving the ball. Bills had plenty of chances to stop them. Hill scores on an incredible play, 13 seconds and a field goal, and then a TD again in OT. KC deserved it, and Mahomes is flat out Superman. "When things look grim, be the Grim Reaper" Andy Reid. Loved seeing Tenn get beat, fuck Bud Adams, loved seeing Buffalo get Beat, fuck the Bills.
  14. So back from Vegas. Was not alcohol free there and it was glorious. But got home and brought the Rona with me. I am starting to think the alcohol kept the Rona at bay.
  15. Raiders and Chargers should have tied just to fuck over Big Ben and the Steelers.
  16. Still alcohol free after the weekend. Discovered melatonin and I am actually sleeping now. So I thin I have turned a corner. After some consultation with some experts it appears that dry January does not exist in Vegas, or in the United club or in seat 2A to and from. I leave tomorrow morning. God help us all.
  17. During covid I went from 276 down to 253 currently. I have kicked it up a notch, joining a gym, stopped drinking and improved my diet. I am trying like a whore to get under 250 and I am stuck. I want to hit 225 or so. My goal is to get that by this summer.
  18. Man fuck that guy. This dry thing isn't all that great. I can't sleep, I am bored, sex drive is stalling, and I am not as loose and pleasant as I usually am. Why am I doing this again? Oh, and I leave for Vegas on Tuesday, FML.
  19. Turns out eating right, drinking lots of water, exercise and not drinking alcohol add weight. Who knew. I am so swoll I can't get my ring off and I have gained 3 lbs!!! Yay healthy!!
  20. Same here, started Monday. Turns out without alcohol I don't sleep for shit. I am still on point at the gym, but this no drinking thing kinda sucks.
  21. 5 days a week at the gym. Started that a while back but I have been lazy recently. Drink less. It is time to give the liver a serious break.
  22. Leach was out coached and MSU was out played. Hopefully Tech can put the whole Leach business behind them now.
  23. Not a bitch about my family session. But it has been a really stressful Christmas here. Where to begin? Lets do my side of the family. My mother had surgery a year ago for a malignant lump in her leg and has been in recovery for a long time. Turns out the wound is not healing right and a new lump has formed which is keeping the original wound from healing. The Wednesday before Christmas I got to go down to MD Anderson to discuss options with her Drs. Turns out the best option is to remove her leg. So Merry Christmas mom. Second, Christmas eve dinner at the MIL's house with our family. The BIL can't make it down, MIL response was I don't want to discuss it was enough to tell us it is not good. Turns out the BIL's ex moved in, and they are fighting and if he leaves to come down to visit she is going to take all his shit and bail for the hundredth time. He never learns. Undefeated I guess. CW's parents our divorced and dad lives in Shreveport. Christmas morning while opening presents the wife is getting texts from step mom. FIL is having chest pains and in the ER. FIL is admitted and is having open heart surgery today to fix the blockage. Merry Christmas!! So in summation. Two parents having life changing surgeries this week. Wife got on a plane yesterday to Shreveport to handle her dad. I am going to be in Houston the latter half of this week to help out with my family. It has been a Christmas to remember.
