  1. Yes, that’s my point. The concern is we’ll just go back into the world of playing with one hand tied behind our back. And scum fucks like tuberville know to publicly point to Texas, because it works and we don’t do shit about it.
  2. This is what I get for trying to squeeze in a post while they’re lowering me into a dentist’s chair.
  3. The problem is his opinion will be the general consensus. He si by les out Texas. Not Ohio State, who cheated for decades AND now has a massive NIL war chest. Not Oregon. Texas. And it will be the narrative.
  4. Or not. Not might be good.
  5. There is a sociological phenomena known as the Bystander Effect. It’s where people witnessing horrific things are en masse powerless to break the spell and do something. So they sit and watch. It was taught to me at school with the case of a man beating a woman to death on a bridge while something like 70 people looked on and did nothing. This was like that.
  6. Still one of the most horrifying things I've witnessed in my life. Just casually grabbing the table's bowl of queso, calmly pouring into a table's bowl of salsa, slowly and methodically like pouring cream into a coffee, without even pausing his conversation, and then using his finger to slowly stir it together. His finger. On a table littered with silverware. While he mocked the notion that Texas would need more than 20k in NIL funds. It was like watching Brando do a Col. Kurtz monologue. I just can't.
  7. My old man would occasionally crush up a ton of saltines into a bowl, and then pour syrup over it, and mix it. Then eat it with a fork or spoon. The sweet and salty is was surprisingly good.
  8. I see you haven't met Burnt Orange & White...
  9. This place? https://hcicehouse.com/ The web developer and general tech guy didn't include the website? What is this world coming to?
  10. Good point, I totally misread him saying "visit" as "live."
  11. I mean, I understand the sentiment. To me it's pretty similar these days to "Who the fuck chooses to live in Texas?" The answer is, people who get paid a fuck ton of money and have a pretty good deal here.
  12. Is 4 million in the bank enough to live on for 30+ years in California? You're in Cali, right, or am I mistaking you with another poster? My comfortable # in Texas to retire in my mid-50's is 5.5. Congrats. This is some version of my goal. Get just enough to live and slowly grow it, and then maybe when we die there's enough left that our son can not worry about retirement as long as I teach him how to grow and safeguard what we leave him.
  13. Foreign Correspondent for Newsmax. Never change, GRUHorn, you piece of shit.
  14. I'm pretty skeptical of Chat GPT's numbers on this...I think UT has well more than 5 billionaire alumni. That being said, I can name 4 off-hand, and all 4 of them aren't contributing to UT NIL. Pretty sure there's the saudi guy who gave Mack Brown a credit card for the old weight room. That would be 5. Something tells me we have a lot more than 5 Billionaires lurking around.
  15. Ha, knowing the guy as I do, he will have zero interest in that. I am intimately familiar with his inspiration, however; us watching hundreds of hours of college football at various sports bars in our 30s and early 40s. Dude whipped it up one afternoon on a work day. We had it made into shirts at one point.
  16. A little late, but this graphic wasn't created by someone who posts on Surly. It was created by one of CTJ's childhood friends who he worked with at the time.
  17. Arch Manning, a high school quarterback from Isidore Newman School in New Orleans, broke high school records set by his uncles, Peyton and Eli Manning. On October 1, 2022, during a game against Pearl River, Arch threw for 356 yards and seven touchdowns, surpassing both Eli's record of 7,268 career passing yards and Peyton's record of 93 career passing touchdowns.
  18. You forgot that they dismiss all of his HS accomplishments, where he was QUITE accomplished, because he went to a private HS in LA, and played poor competition. The same small private HS that both of his uncles attended. Among other NFL players as well.
