  1. Nothing changes, as we’ve been saying. Not a cat also has a salient, non CR point in that the DoE might not be around long enough for any of potential lawsuits to hit the courts.
  2. I also enjoyed the Shiro Davis sighting.
  3. Well, he cost around 7 figures to sign in the first place, and I don’t think his worth went down.
  4. I like how you’ve managed to conjure this entire weird disagreement you’re having with yourself over shades of the concept of “willingness” enough to post multiple Long AF posts about it. As if my second post, which you quoted, I didn’t say “some version of embrace blocking” as if I wasn’t loosely paraphrasing you the entire fucking time. And then you attempted to put the word Mauler in my mouth. This whole thing is so weird and bizarre, and exists entirely in your head. “Different levels of the same concept, I’d better write 3k words about how you are illiterate and hate TEs, nevermind Sydney has said multiple times he’s fine if Niblack stays he just won’t mourn his loss.” I’m enjoying this. Keep going.
  5. You're right. For a second I thought you were a normal person not prone to wild levels of pedantry. But you're right, those two things are pretty syonymous to me. will·ing·ness /ˈwiliNGnəs/ noun the quality or state of being prepared to do something; readiness. "the ability and willingness of workers to migrate" Definitions from Oxford Languages · Learn more em·brace /əmˈbrās/ verb accept or support (a belief, theory, or change) willingly and enthusiastically.
  6. Lol. Nice title change to the thread. It reminds me of the Saturday that we were watching football and posted that Charlie Strong was Black Pardee and the entire board lost their fucking shit.
  7. "This whole exercise isn't projection." Proceeds to point out spots in his original post where he admits to projecting. The moving of your goalposts was suggesting he had to be a mauler, which literally no one suggested. We can agree that serviceable is fine, but your whole first post of "Needs to learn the playbook and embrace blocking" implies (projects) that he's not done either, and isn't working to become serviceable. Everything stems from that on this point. My notion of flex TE's that embrace blocking isn't based on anything niblack specifically, but in general years of Jumbo WRs or undersized TE's in HS basically have the same mentality as a diva WR, and do nothing. It's not Niblack specific. But whatever, you want him to return, I'm fine with him returning. I literally said I wouldn't lose sleep if he didn't.
  8. Any DE lining up against Quinn Ewers on an obvious passing down. /ducks
  9. Lol, there goes there big time 5 star signing...lol. I'm not shitting on mental health issues, at all. But, I do find it fascinating that after spending a year in fucking Lubbock, Micah Hudson actively entered the transfer portal, made some visits, actively searched for a new home to re-start his football career, and then signed with Texas AM, and moved to campus. And then within 10 days had a mental breakdown and had to quit football. College Station, making Lubbock look like paradise since 2024, Or 1904. Whatever. Onward and Upwards, Micah.
  10. You know there's a non-zero chance that they gave him a contract that pays him regardless of whether or not he's doing football activities...
  11. This whole exercise is projection. 1.) Your first post said some version of "If he'd just somewhat consider embracing blocking," which not only said he hasn't, it means he hasn't even made the steps to be "serviceable." No one said mauler but you, and yet now you're moving your own goalpost. 2.) Hall's presence in the discussion is he's a transfer that didn't get the time he expected, and he bolted. I'm aware Niblack isn't a cancer, hence my entire sentence about him not attacking a parking boot or saying loony shit. That being said, not learning the playbook after a year in the program DOES seem like a bit of a warning sign. 3.) I don't know, I think a high-ish profile transfer who, what was it you said, had proven productin for a major program and we witnessed kick our ass for 'Bama could reasonably be expected to come in, learn the playbook, consider trying to be a serviceable blocker, and challenge a 5th year guy with less talent and ability for playing time. This doesn't seem like an unrealistic expectation from anyone at all. Is your belief that we paid him NIL dollars to transfer here to ride the pine all year? Becuase I'd argue the staff expected more as well. I'm not saying I want the guy to go. But if he did, I'm not going to lose any sleep over it.
  12. I feel like the history of Flex TE's being asked to learn to block and embracing that is a low percentage. I also feel like the percentage of guys who transfer to a school, expect playing time and don't recieve it sticking around and not moping and getting their shit together is also pretty low. I can hope and cheer for something to happen without having super high expectations that it will indeed happen. I'm not saying he's going to Argyle Hall attack a parking boot and scream that he invented the question mark, but at the same time, I'm not going to expect much of a talented, experienced guy in year two at Texas that couldn't do enough to displace Juan Davis in year one. Who knows, maybe he takes a some ayahuasca and finds himself during some spiritual journey and kicks ass. I'll take it. But losing his 5 receptions for 33 yards, barely better than Will Randle, isn't going to cause me pain.
  13. Would Niblack cause anyone here pain? Certainly not me. Honestly, I'd expect that guy to get passed up. Ethan Burke?
  14. Tremendous. This leaves Rimbo as the lone motherfucker titling at this windmill of stupidity. It's been a long time Rimbo, it's nice to know you can put on your Helobious Bad Take shoes after all these years and have them fit so snugly.
  15. It is a premium brand. Who gives a shit? I'm supposed to be scared of some other blue blood down on their luck becoming less so? What I absolutely DO know is that, for lack of a better word, T-shirt fans and loose fans with no formal affiliation to their school RARELY donate to NIL. Most don't even fucking know what NIL collectives are, and they aren't on email lists for fundraising or anything else. So, uh, yeah, in this instance, it is the actual fucking alumni who put dollars into NIL programs that you have to fucking worry about, you fucking knob. It's clear from this post that you don't actually understand the big picture of college football at all, these days. The things you've cited are mere nuisances and hypothericals compared to the actual fire breathing dragon we're dealing with, right now, with Ohio State and their NIL machine. There's an 800 lb gorilla threating to NowThis you, but you're acting unconcerned becuase some other gorilla may or may not show up at a later date to pink sock you. Thanks, I'm good with Ohio State alums taking a hit, maybe being more reticient with their donations in the future, and what is possibly the most obnoxious fanbase in college football taking one in the dick after decades of pretty much continued success.
  16. I feel there's probably a handful of posters on this site that can justifiably attempt to lecture me on "the big picture" of college football, maybe, and buddy, you're not on that list. You can go back to defending Mack Brown and Charlie Strong with every last shrill cry from your body. I have news for you. Ohio State is already there, and have been for decades, and the acadmic standards at ND will continue to act as more of a governor to their talent acquisition than what exists (nothing) at Ohio State. Additionaly, they have more booster money than ND. And I've suffered through a decads of the same 5-6 teams winning the title, I'm pretty sure 'Bama or others can claim to be the fucking Yankees more than ND, who's been irrelevent. But you go ahead and piss yourself worrying about the <checks notes> 120k living alumni Notre Dame might bring to bear in NIL becuase the Catholics might be mean to you. As opposed to Texas's 530k, or 600k. And honestly, ND is the only other brand than Texas than can probably be seen as a Darth Vader of college football. Give me another villain. It's math. Also, I give a shit about the playoffs being succesful. I care about this sport. Are you telling me I'm full of shit and lying?
  17. Almost like it wasn't real, or wasn't good information.
  18. I didn't realize that my take was neg-worthy. I guess TeamDirtyLeg really hates Catholics, ND, or really loves Ryan Day. LIke LOVES. Also I didn't realize Ohio State was somehow a school that displayed their faith openly. Must have missed that. Did Ryan Day buy a Jesus Butt Plug or something and post about it on reddit? Meanwhile, Ole' Dabo and Clemson apparently just don't NIL in the image of Christ quite enough.
  19. I'm rooting for ND, but it isn't for the fucking lulz. On a surface level, the playoff looks like more of a success if one of the Powers of the last decade don't win it. MIchigan last year was great, but going back to Ohio State this year can fuck right off. I'd say the same thing for GA, Alabama, even Clemson, etc. On a much more visceral level, I dont really want Ohio State boosters getting a good ROI in their fucking NIL investment. We don't need those fuckers feelng incented to keep throwing around 25-30 million a year in NIL.
  20. More like “hey, are you willing to donate to keep MM?” “Nope.” CTJ was referring to a financial capacity, not an administrative one.
  21. It wasn’t. It was Arnold & Itkins.
  22. Yeah, no plaudits over here. I’d have let the dude walk.
