  1. Lol. I mean, if we aren’t getting a PB on each trip, what are we doing really? There are good fisherman that skunk now and again, before you even factor in the whole fly aspect. I dabble with the fly, but don’t fish enough lately to make myself go and get skunked. I applaud those of you that stick with it.
  2. What they mean by similar culture is racism or some type of bigotry. I don’t know why that gets looked over so hard. Everytime it’s written, that’s the context. It’s pretty simple. If you’d like recent examples, look for the recent UT posts with Bevo mascot in the pride shirt, and the subsequent posts on their boards. I’m pretty far from that guy who see racism/bigotry in everything, or much, but that’s been what “similar culture” means on txaggy and rant boards since it leaked they were joining. It gets even funnier when they sometimes realize how diverse some of their “culture fit” buddies are. Also funny, I see it 100x more from ag posters than any other SEC posters.
  3. Today, for first time, I started getting texts about Blackrock and Vanguard, and how they are behind forcing all these companies to do pride ads. Guessing it’s a Jesse Kelly or similar talking point this week. Have never heard it before this AM.
  4. The wife and I drank with a few of the most beautiful, nice, and curious* lesbians a few months ago; and they could absolutely put them back. One from Jersey, one from PA, both studying at Tulane. Fantastic conversations. *curious about what it’s like to be old and have kids and shit. And everything from UT to Tulane to religion to who the fuck remembers.
  5. But you see, he had good behavior…and remember, we are trying to rehabilitate, not punish. Absurd he didn’t get a needle to the arm for that kids rape and murder.
  6. I think I polished ours a couple years in and haven’t done it again in almost a decade. We don’t have any stains. It is slicker than owl shit when freshly polished. Maybe I’ll add that to the list of to do’s.
  7. Tell you what, if I ever win the powerball, I'll get you one. Bayliss, Spencer, Winter, Weaver, ACY, etc what to do?!?!?! What a problem to have.
  8. I'd like to do this if we ever remodel, but we have a full on 20'+ run on one wall. Would be extremely apprehensive about that junction with high end/grain material. Yours looks great.
  9. I'll have one of each, plz thxkbai.
  10. They like small live bait, jigs, bucktails and flies. They just don't like to move much off the structure in my experience. I'd choose a small mullet or shad over a late summer eating size live shrimp imo, a small shrimp would be first choice however. Smaller hooks too, dudes try and target with bigger offshore shit and it usually doesn't work. They Are like giant crappie. A small minnow or shrimp or lure right in the face or you aren't fishing. Good to know. Shrimp colored 3" DOA has been my go as long as I can remember (haven't had bait on the boat (inshore) in ~25 years). Used to have good luck with live shrimp on buoys or garbage in West M as a kid.
  11. There's a bunch of them not far from where you used to camp out and fish. ANYTHING floating will hold them on calm, hot days. DOA's or live shrimp, or nothing has been our experience. They are fun to hunt in the doldrums of summer afternoons.
  12. How long ago was that? The Bandera one was closed as long as I can remember. Maybe when I was very young I think I remember it open. I know it stood vacant forever.
  13. I have. She was a strong Texas 8, otherwise known as an Iowa 13. Believe she lives in Austin now.
  14. Some are pretty spot on in recognizing the lack of respect, though. I don't hate aggy, not like OU, anyhow. But I can assure you have not an ounce of respect for anything they've done, at any time. Respect for a couple of the 2%r vets you send out every now and then, I guess?
  15. I just want to reiterate, I have never once gotten a “no thanks, we’ve filled that position” from a company. That seems to be typical(?) but I didn’t even know it was a thing until this thread. My CV just out there floating in a few places, I assumed. Sucks you are still hunting. Something will come your way.
  16. I've seen some decent bass but nothing as big as @davidg dad's. Close, but that's a pretty damn decent fish. If you get up early, they are around. I've even seen some good fish while the crowds are out, but of course no way to fish them at that point. We stay just outside Garner.
  17. That’s awesome. Didn’t even know those existed. Thx for posting.
  18. Thanks for posting. I have ability to snag a few of those reels each year (legitimately) as the return on them is less than it takes to return them. We typically just throw them in the scrap pile.
  19. Mapping a must. What I’ve learned from having several is get either the best, or next to best tier. The high end models and features are well worth it IMO. I made the midrange mistake 2x.
  20. I never beach on the front row, but sometimes would wedge in and tie up at Sunday Beach (RIP) in that second, less contained row. Last time I did, some young man got deposited from the boat on my stbd, across my front deck (mostly on his face), and into the boat to my port side. I can't imagine holiday weekends.
  21. Now hold the fuck on, that's clearly Rosenberg. And sounds about par for that course.
  22. Oh that’s the stuff. We got a weeklong trip to Frio is less than a month. Can’twait.gif
