  1. I read some FF nerds thread on Twitter today who rewatched every Andrew's snap that KC chose to bracket him all game and it will not be the norm fwiw
  2. Mostert all day for me.
  3. Baller. The Grand hotel is not cheap. Great pics imma
  4. The weather is going to suck for you guys. I was really hoping you would get some beautiful early fall football weather. Cold front coming in on Friday and bringing rain. Probably going to be grey, cold and rainy on Saturday.
  5. Ain't nobody got time to lose 40 lbs when you have little kids.
  6. Sweet! You know I'm going to have some unsolicited advice for you. Tomorrow is the annual bridge walk on the Mac bridge. I'm not sure what your schedule is like but I would try to avoid it, it will be a disaster. Check out Castle Rock on St. Ignace on the UP side of the bridge. It's a hokey tourist trap but your boy will probably dig taking a picture with the giant Paul Bunyan and climbing up to the lookout. The local delicacy is a pasty. It's just a meat pie with gravy and vegetables but people love them up there for some reason. Avoid Mackinaw City. The island is pretty touristy and not my favorite thing and Mac City is like a cheaper more touristy version but without horses. The best part of the State imo is the Northern lower in the summer. Petoskey, Chalevoix, Traverse City, Torch Lake, Harbor Springs, Glen Arbor all beautiful. Stuff for kids to do in most of the above. Shorts brewery is in Bellaire on Torch Lake. Dockside is a burger bar with a nice patio on the lake and fun to watch the boats pull up and go by. There is an indoor water park and new giant Sky bridge with a view at Boyne Mountain. You might already see some fall colors this time of year. If you only have time to do one stop I would do Traverse City or Petoskey. Both great towns with plenty to do. Traverse City has a better beach and beach facilities. There is also a strip in Acme on your way into TC that has hokey shit for the kids. Pirate's Cove Adventure golf, zip lines etc. Don's drive inn for burgers and milkshakes. Oh and Sleeping Bear dunes. You will be shocked that Michigan has scenery that looks like that. Have fun!
  7. Spread opens up at Texas -3.5/-4
  8. Where's the my dog is not awesome thread? Skunk.
  9. Definitely Ricks. Make sure you order the shrimp. Kidding I have no idea these days. @choripan should be able to help.
  10. Nice. I found another league to join but if there's interest here and we can get 8 or 10 more I'll do this one, too.
  11. I don't expect there to be much interest, the last one we did died. But I was thinking I would like to be in another league so I figured I would throw it out there. $100 PPR? Post if you're interested. We could go to $50 if it were preferable.
  12. The Whitney is haunted, too. Very cool place. https://www.audacy.com/wwjnewsradio/news/local/the-hauntings-of-the-whitney-detroits-spookiest-restaurant
  13. I think it's ok to root for injuries against Michigan. Kidding. Kind of. Maybe. I mean I don't do it but if you want to I think baby Jesus might look the other way.
  14. Gandy looks a lot like my old Malamute Kosmo when she was a pup. RIP to both.
  15. With the AJ Dillon news, hopefully people are drafting Marshawn Lloyd. Also if you drafted either Mostert or Achane, you should be drafting Jaylen Wright if you can. For post week 1 wire pickups, I'm paying attention to Diyami Brown, also Adonai Mitchell and Jermaine Burton.
  16. If you're pining for a chicken sandwich or a flat bread pizza after you land at DTW you can go to East Coast Bucee's now apparently. https://www.freep.com/story/money/business/2024/08/27/first-michigan-sheetz-store-opens/74959256007/
  17. Username checks out and all. C'mon surly you're slipping.
  18. Ah yes, Jack Gohlke syndrome. Forgot you were a UK fan for a second. 😂
  19. Drafted in my auction league today. I really like my team but the metrics don't. It's a single keeper league and keeper value starts at 35/200 budget and goes up 5 every additional year a player is kept. I kept Josh Allen for 35. Our league also pays out for MVP and he/we won that last year, and it wasn't close. Hurts was 2nd and CMC 3rd. The metrics don't really like teams built around QBs. My 2 top backs are Etienne and Mostert. PPR league and they were 3rd and 2nd last year in RB scoring in this league. I know A'Chane got hurt last year but Mostert scored 21 TDs and is still running with the starters. I can't understand why he's so cheap this year. Guy I really like this year but was unable to grab him because another team with more in their coffers also really liked him: Terry McLaurin Rookies I like: Ray Davis, Jaylen Wright , Kimani Vidal, Brian Thomas JR, Keon Coleman, Xavier Worthy Disclaimer. I haven't made the playoffs since probably the Obama administration.
  20. I have low key love for OU and Coach Kampe. Seems like a great dude. I just realized that the Lions are hosting the Rams that weekend on SNF. Anyone doing the double header?
  21. East Lansing is a piddly college town. Very different vibe from big city Ann Arbor. The main drag is Grand River, with "downtown" East Lansing on one side and campus on the other. As LO said upthread, campus is beautiful, especially the North end, close to Grand River. Once you get to the river, the other side is pretty meh but just on the other side of the river is Spartan Stadium and Breslin to the West. There is a Hall of Champions or something in the lobby at Breslin if you're into hoops and you just might see Izzo on his office patio right outside that area and he will talk to you if you do. The football stadium is dumpy but worth seeing I guess. Walk campus, go to Beaumont Tower, get ice cream at the Dairy Store. Visit the Broad art museum if that's your thing. East Lansing itself, mostly local bars and chain restaurants. I'm biased but people and students in town are pretty outgoing and friendly. Crunchy's and the Peanut Barrel for burgers. The best place to stay is the Marriott on M.A.C. or the new hotel, Graduate. There is apparently a cool bar on the roof up there but I haven't been there. I hope the fall weather cooperates that weekend. It's a really nice time of year. Probably a little early for the leaves changing colors but a nice pleasant 75-80 during the day and a crisp 50-55 at night.
  22. Left after I graduated from MSU for Austin. Lived there a couple of years, moved back, didn't want to live with my parents and one bedroom apartments were cheaper downtown than in Royal Oak so I lived dowb there for a couple of years, working in Dearborn. I'm in Troy now. Are you in Lake Orion?
  23. I like the other 2 for FF. I think DJ is the primary and Rome is very talented and much cheaper than Keenan.
  24. I think greektown is pretty sketchy these days on the weekends, as well, no? Old man voice when I lived downtown in the early 00s that was the only place to go. I think I have heard that casino is now the worst of the 3. In general I have never felt unsafe downtown. I worked in downtown Pontiac for a few years and it felt much sketchier to me than Detroit.
