  1. Take away OPs ability to start a thread. For the love of god
  2. wait, I assumed all that was satire?
  3. cheaper just to have a 15 minute video of Latino kids being chased by ICE officers and have AI write a Greenwood knock-off for background music. Sell lots of tickets. Pocket all that cash.
  4. Guys, sad news. Jordan Peterson seems to be losing his battle with *checks notes* mold? https://wegotthiscovered.com/politics/were-not-entirely-sure-whats-going-on-jordan-peterson-taken-down-by-moldy-room-daughter-raises-possibility-of-spiritual-attack/ I wonder if they have him hooked up to that machine again?
  5. LOVE IT OR LEAVE IT* *or don't
  6. Votes for Trump to "save the day!" 10 months later, his company files for bankruptcy. Womp womp https://www.bicycleretailer.com/industry-news/2025/10/08/domestic-e-bike-assembler-ebc-files-chapter-7-bankruptcy
  7. and how old is she?
  8. in response to "what do you say to the 40% of CA voters who voted for Trump," the easy, and correct answer is "who gives a shit?"
  9. I assume they have SOME evidence that the embers from the earlier fire started the Palisades fire. Otherwise, you can't. Without getting too political, the "acting" US attorney for the Central District of CA, does not have the best track record at securing indictments...
  10. Uncle Stevo sheds the shackles of the socialist dictatorship under Biden, and a mere 10 months later is whining about the gov't checks not being big enough Meet Sharon - having trouble finding her bootstraps, it appears Edit: wrong thread, but fuck it
  11. Maybe the best legislation passed by Dems since the Civil Rights Act https://www.theverge.com/news/794145/california-law-noisy-ad-volume-streaming-services You're welcome, America.
  12. Methodists? Bunch of commies, imo. I've heard they were caught trying to give bread to the homeless.
  13. Damn. Who knew @Wilcox Cummingtoniteis a 17 year old who lives in NJ?
  14. Linda Lee is a multi-issue voter: bacon and eggs Check out this guy
  15. It also reveals a stunningly incomprehensible set of "principles" As long as your the first to take an illegal/unethical action, you're fine. Its the tit-for-tat that they are upset with. To wit: Texas moves forward with Trump's redistricting request to gain five new GOP House seats. A-ok with us! California responds with the same to cancel the advantage. Wait a minute! What hypocrites! They said they were mad about the Texas thing! Trump extorts universities. A-ok with us! California responds that they will withhold grants to those who capitulate. Wait a minute! That's hypocrisy from the Dems! And that's the real issue here!
  16. So the Biden DOJ prosecuted and jailed the very FBI informants they planted to make it look like MAGA? And not a single one revealed the story? Truly a dizzying intellect...
  17. Oh he's not here to address the issues. Just wants to make sure to point out perceived hypocrisy. Obviously there's no defense to what the Trump admin is doing, so they wait to find a surly poster's reaction to criticize. It's literally the only kind of "conservative" perspective we see on this site anymore.
  18. Awesome. Didn't even think of Hitchhikers and was only vaguely familiar with Discworld Also a good one, thanks
  19. I see you've adopted the ChickenSandwich and Ani approach to the CR lately - ignore everything going on, and smugly criticize Surly's reaction to the events. Swell.
  20. lol
  21. Anyone have some recs for my 9 year old daughter who is powering through books above her level? She has read all of the Percy Jackson books and their spinoffs, and this summer she read all of the Harry Potter books, and is now re-reading them. She also just read Tales of Despereaux and Ms. Frisby and the Rats of Nihm - both of which she enjoyed. I've got the Narnia books lined up. Lord of the Rings too advanced? She did tell me the other day that she really prefers fantasy, magic, etc. We tried the Redwall series about a year ago, but I think that may have been too soon, so she's not that interested in trying again. Just seems like she's in a weird period where she's probably not mature enough for some of teen content, but is advanced enough that she' may find books targeted at her age not much of a challenge?
