  3. oh man, you should see what's happened to American Christianity in the last 20 or so years...
  4. Reddit, in general is younger and left. Shit, even the NFL subreddit is pretty far left when it comes to social issues that bleed into the sport.
  5. While there are addicts who seek out fentanyl, the myriad stories of "normal" people OD'ing on the stuff was almost always unintentional as it was mixed in with their coke, unbeknownst to them. Our white collar weekend partiers and college kids weren't intentionally scoring fent. its why anyone I know who partakes, always has a fent test kit before they use. You just never know.
  6. Every word you wrote applies to me. But, I'm an introvert by nature and was already planning to cash out my LA equity for a place with some land, so a move to a foreign country wouldn't be that much different, I guess.
  7. check out the big brain on Ronda! Michelle spent all her money Trump posters and is now poor! Noted economist, Kim, is sounding the alarm (cameo from St. Charles) Dan's meme and emoji game is strong. Critical thinking? Not so much
  8. No that was Charlie
  9. Nah, I'll keep making jokes about ol' big head with the gaping hole in his neck.
  10. So you've remained silent for days as this actually happens to those on the left, and then a Surly poster suggests doing the same to the right and you immediately jump on to smugly criticize? There's the incredulity we know so well.
  11. They got Weinstein and Masterson recently.
  12. I don't understand the point you're trying to make. Is it that because he was shot in the neck, any punishment short of that is fair game for those who criticize him? We can't criticize the gov't punishing speech because he was shot in the neck?

  15. my wife grew up in the bay area and her experience with weather related phenomena is all fucked up as a result. Clouds in the sky? Must be a cold day. Going to rain? Must be a cold day. This morning, after raining overnight in LA for the first time in like 6 months, the sky was dark. Occasional sprinkles. Temp was like 82 degrees and it was as humid as I've ever felt it. As in, nice sticky layer of sweat from just getting into the car. Daughter comes downstairs for school with pants on, heavy rain coat, and rain boots. Wife is wearing a thick turtleneck sweater. Forecast called for .03 inches today. "Uhhh, its gonna be a miserably warm and humid day today." "Is it? Have you looked outside yet?" "Yes. I've also already walked the dog and she's in the corner over there panting" I say, as I wipe sweat from my brow with a kitchen towel.

  17. Hell, just look to California. Below is a non-exhaustive list of legislation passed just in the last 2 years. Strangely, nothing about allowing kids to pee in litter boxes or after-birth abortion. California, despite its faults, churns out legislation year after year that assists the poor, marginalized, and working class. The rest of America calls it "socialism" and then proclaims that the CA model won't work anywhere else. Ok then.
  18. Best I can do is Soros
  19. Negged for utter falsity. Straight up lying and gaslighting.
  20. Admittedly, my knowledge of the period is somewhat only surface level, but are you referring to the robber barons philanthropic projects or something else?
  21. Indeed. The ship has sailed. As I've stated in the past. I plan on keeping my head down and finding humor in the pain inflicted on MAGA supporters and the occasional absurdity. I'm as WASPy as they come and will have no problem laughing as the Iconos of this land get hauled off, the rurals continue to suffer economic devastation, and people die from diseases that they chose to inflict upon themselves. If history is any indication, that pain and suffering is the necessary condition for true change. As long as everyone has their TV's, food, health, and climate control, where's the catalyst? What ended the gilded age? Shit loads of pain, death, pestilence, and abject poverty.
