  1. I noticed that windfall too. I don't remember ever really paying attention to the fact that the clock keeps running (until we really, really needed it to Saturday).
  2. I just turned the corner to basketball season last week too. I was starting to get excited at the thought of DJM getting better, getting to witness the star that is DeMar, and just overall committing to this new Spurs team, but that injury is just a kick in the balls. Sports can be a real punk ass bitch sometimes. The silver lining is seeing Derrick White get his shot (and possibly even alleviate the talk of this team being a shit 3-point shooting team this year), but I think we all know this could be bad on the defensive end this year. I'll watch, but I'm not giddy about this season starting like I was last week.
  3. And none of this is to mention all the lines Conor crossed during build up. All the lines he could cross with Mayweather before they shared champagne (and/or blow) on the private jet before they flew to the next press tour stop. I'd pay a PPV fee just to hear/understand/translate what Khabib was saying to Conor when he was beating the shit out of him on the ground. That was some possessed/determined shit.
  4. He's not nearly as bad as Tristan Nickelson, or Shack last year, or Rodriguez at tackle last year, so our floor is definitely higher as an o-line, and that's important.
  5. I haven't been in this thread much because fuck Jones and Garrett and our refusal to help our secondary and our refusal to surround Dak with weapons that sorely needs............... but I'm quoting this bc I've never in my years of watching the Cowboys seen a QB throw to so many covered receivers in my life. I had just finished hearing that all of Dak's interceptions this year were apparently off of the hands of his receivers, when he threw ANOTHER one to a Texan that was also batted (and may have hit the hands of his receiver). But even if it did, it hit hands because he's consistently thrown into coverage this year. I know the receivers are bad, and it's true that the reasoning is partially because they can't fucking separate, but his decision making is not helping them out. You can't throw to a covered receiver who is below league average as it is. And wtf is up with these lines? Houston's O line has looked like dog shit all damn year, getting Deshaun beat up out there, and now they look like the Cowboys from 3 years ago giving him time to throw darts all across the damn field. Fucking ridiculous. I think I'm mentally done for this year too. I'll watch most of the games probably (ok maybe), but I'm done giving a shit.
  6. Lincoln Riley does curls in the squat rack.
  7. I hate that shit! Just go tf home already!
  8. Went to Micklethwait a few weeks ago on a rainy sunday (so no line). I was wondering if the rain would do anything to the wood/smoke or if it's generally not a good idea to go on a bad weather day, but that brisket/tex-czch sausage/pulled lamb plate was great. I've lived within a mile from it for about 3 years now and finally pulled the trigger to try it out. I'm a fan. Sausage was the least impressive (but still above average).
  9. I almost agreed with you but on second look the 2-toned fideo (brown & tan pieces) seems to be legit. Spaghetti only has tan.
  10. Yeah this doesn't hold up. First of all it's only drawing attention because it's funny. That taunting shit we did last year v. Missouri was way more embarrassing imo (which I still loved bc fuck 'em that's why). The big man (your 1-tech) makes a play and rubs his belly and it's funny and he deserves to, why would I as a Texas Ex get all high n mighty about it and start spouting off "we're Texas"?
  11. Are these tickets any more secure than the UT season tickets? There's people posting the barcodes all willy-nilly online on Craigslist and it makes me hesitant to make an offer. I've sold single-game tickets from my own seats and all you need on stubhub is the barcode. Could they be registered or something? Am I right to be hesitant?
  12. I felt it watching the highlights from the game. I watched the starting five and the bench, and waited to see one of "our" guys, and I saw Patty and that was cool, but then I just kept looking at whatever five were on the floor and thinking "these aren't THE guys".... No Manu, no Tony, not even a Danny. Dejounte is a great young prospect but I still don't consider him a "SPUR spur" yet. Not until he earns those wings (hell even Patty has). This is really LaMarcus' team now and it feels weird.
  13. I'm just on episode 3 and I'm already frustrated, but it's still entertaining. All the mixed reviews here are just about right... What's her hillbilly face extorting that old man for his business was pretty silly, as was his reaction, like they really needed to build that up for a 3 minute-shot climax. The FBI agent is also annoying as hell, what a trope. Just copy/paste scenes with the FBI dude from 'The Shape of Water' and call it a day, we already know his character.
  14. The last two really hit hard. I didn't expect the second to last episode. A cartoon horse really had me feeling tense as shit watching him go through his choking thing on set, that's how I know it's great writing. I honestly didn't know whether I should be feeling bad for him at that moment but I did, bc he was f'ing everything up finally. I liked how they wrapped everything up this season. Not everybody got a nice little bow on their story (i.e. Mr PB), but everybody did get themselves into something or out of something to finish the season.
  15. That Jan Levinson is a real firecracker.
  16. I've been re-watching over the past few months and finally got to the seasons where Michael moves away and Andy becomes manager. What a terrible decision. Andy was always wack as shit and they decided to make him a focal point. Right about the time they decided to make Kevin a joke. He was always a bit slower but was still cool, then they turned him into a drooling idiot around the time Andy took over. Seasons 1-6 are still great overall. Creed is a very underrated character, he says some outlandish shit. And on 2nd watch Erin (receptionist after Pam) is pretty damn funny too, everything she does as a character is humorous.
  17. What an aggy.
  18. They gave Mr. Peanut Butter a little depth! I had always noticed how they kinda skated over the fact he has so many ex-wives, but to give that some screen time was interesting. I love me some Mr. PB. Funny guy.
  19. I just finished a rec league basketball season at NW rec. You don't remember what scenes they filmed around there?
  20. This is fucking great dude, thanks. I feel like a genius when I saw our guys line up with 6 guys on the line and Patterson trotted out 5 in the box and I'm screaming "PLEASE run the ball, we have them outmanned" and we ran inside zone one out of two times I saw it, and it was for a decent gain. This blows that shit out of the water. If you're seeing this shit live I'm assuming you've done some serious studying on the issues.
  21. I mean Top Notch is down the street. Jalapeno burgers and soggy fries aren't going to eat themselves.
  22. Just getting around to watching the offensive highlights from the USC game, and I am impressed with this O-line. They dominated pretty much from snap 1 versus a 4-man pass rush, and handled most blitzes and stunts well. They seem sound. Most of the linemen seem to handle stunts/loops seamlessly, and the blitzes are picked up conventionally (linemen handle inside and let the RB handle whichever defender is coming off the outermost edge) with the RB like they've been doing it for years. Sam had plenty of clean pockets to throw from, and showed some ability to hold onto the ball just long enough, even against blitzes. He missed some throws but also threw some darts when they gave him time. The run blocking isn't as impressive, but isn't bad at all. They seem to combo block well and most of them get off of the combo and onto a linebacker quickly. There's still some lead feet (from Vahe especially) that leads to D-linemen shedding rather easily if they have strong arms, but otherwise solid. An underrated part of the run blocking so far has been Andrew Beck too, he is put in many different positions and angles and is hitting people in all of them. I can see what we missed last year when he got hurt, they really ask a lot of the TE from this offense and he has been fearless. Probably my favorite player to watch in this video. Tre Watson is better than I expected. Anderson is solid, and about as good as I expected, not as strong was Connor was but very fundamentally sound.
  23. Don't believe that backstory, but that was a good beat-down. Every video I see of a stadium fight with a guy in a lower row taking a swing at someone above him pisses me off. My first thought is always to yank the fucker down, get his bearings off, then beat his ass. This is a fight, rules be damned, kick his ass.
  24. Finally watched 11 rounds yesterday (that's all I found on YT). I had Rounds 1,4,8, 10, 11 for GGG and 2, 3, 5, 7, 9 for Canelo. Round 6 was my tightest swing round, I couldn't call it, and I hear 12 was mostly GGG, but I didn't see it. That's pretty f'n even. If Canelo gets round 6 and GGG round 12 that's a draw on my book. I really hope Canelo gets his love when he's done. I already know GGG is the people's champ and will be revered, because he's revered now, but Canelo in the 5th round (after a huge 4th from GGG) coming on and stalking GGG, walking him down, is something I've never seen before. You don't stalk GGG, you go and "be a good boy" and go to sleep, supposedly. Round 11 was pretty great too, GGG starts throwing 3-4 punch combinations, starts getting some momentum and then Canelo revs up his engine and slows GGG back down. What a great matchup.
  25. I just watched episode three and thought it was great actually. All of it. One was ok, Diane's episode was cool but overall depressing. Ep. 3 hits some storyline notes but is just full of wittiness and one-liners.
