  1. He can run again and it has happened when someone expelled won their seat back - Adam Clayton Powell. His case went before the Supreme Court who ruled that Congress had to seat him and couldn't override the will of the voters (Powell v McCormack)
  2. This. They expelled Santos knowing they'd lose the seat. They'll have no problem expelling a dude from an R +19 district.
  3. Klatt not a fan of Tua and really likes Penix.
  4. Trump and his affiliated PACs are running out of money for his legal fees. Gonna have to hit up MAGA or raid the GOP coffers (once his daughter in law is there): https://www.threads.net/@lincolnproject.us/post/C3YfS9Vxxrk “Trump spent $51.2 million in 2023 on legal expenses, and can tap another $23.5 million, most of it stashed in an allied super political action committee that he can use to pay his lawyers. But as his four criminal cases ramp up, those funds are expected to run out at a critical time — around July.” (article is paywalled unfortunately)
  5. Klatt's Mock 1.0 (spoilered because large screen shots) - Has Murphy at 25 to the Packers.
  6. Latest ESPN mock draft (from Field Yates) has Murphy going #13 to the Raiders and Mitchell going to the Chefs at #32. Biggest discussion point for now on the draft is what decision the Bears make at #1 - do they stick with Fields and trade down or launch him and take Williams? Another mock I saw had a pick that I actually liked even though I'm on the record as not liking him as a first round prospect - McCarthy to the Rams at #19. If you like McCarthy's potential then this is the ideal spot for him as he gets to back up Stafford for a couple of years while developing (which he needs). Would be a page out of the Packers' playbook.
  7. It's because the Democrats aren't even trying. Suburban counties are trending blue all over this state (and nationally) yet you won't see any effort to take advantage of it from the Texas Democratic Party. Anything that happens is grass-roots exclusively.
  8. The Democrats need to recycle Truman's tactic of labeling the GOP the "do nothing Republicans" lead by the "Do Nothing Donald".
  9. Yellow Journalism has always been a profitable venture. There's nothing new here. Hell, they named the top journalism prize after a prominent purveyor of the shit (Pulitzer). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yellow_journalism Here's how it ended back in the 19th century:
  10. Because the Democratic Party has abandoned Texas.

  12. I think the breaks in play due to the weather - including a long break between rounds on the same day - are as much responsible for things getting this out of control. With no golf to watch there wasn't anything else to do but get even more wasted. It also didn't help that this occurred on the Saturday which is the rowdiest day of the tournament. ASU students arrive in the morning already drunk out of their minds.
  13. He's got two void years in his contract they can use to play around with the numbers and defer that. His contract gives the team a lot of flexibility while he still gets paid: https://overthecap.com/player/patrick-mahomes/5594

  15. LOL do you even CONCACAF? It will be totally random and chaos in this federation.
  16. that number is skewed by early season Ben Foster being really bad.
  17. Michigan, North Carolina, Wisconsin, Arizona, and Nevada all have Democratic Secretaries of State. All are "swing states' where he could be kicked off the ballot.
