SEC Catch-all Thread
I think thats a chicken and egg thing, obviously they are not going to offer the 9th game without more money. I just can’t imagine a world where the mouse won’t pay for a 9th conference game and would rather show games against Mercer this weekend.

There was also the issue of Texas and OU favored the 9 game schedule but didn’t get a vote. The next time this comes up that is 2 more votes for 9, and I think it will swing it.

Texas Athletics releases price for potential home playoff game
Why would they be any more than a regular away game? I would assume all season ticket holders get first chance at their seats.

SEC Championship Game - Scenarios?
To your point. In the event of a 3 way tie, the “2nd place” SEC team, the loser of the championship game is likely going to be seeded lower than the team that gets left out. It feels weird to penalize a team for playing an extra game, and a lot of people are going to think that is unfair. Having said all that I want to win BOTH the SEC and the playoffs so I want to play in both.

SEC Championship Game - Scenarios?
Clemson, Miami, SMU can all go undefeated in the ACC and don’t play each other (SMU is just funny to me) Indiana, Oregon, and Penn State can do the same thing It is pretty easy to imagine a scenario where the SEC gets 2 or 3 teams in.

SEC Catch-all Thread
Makes sense, I think the results show “what happens if these teams finish 4-1 AND there are no other upsets in the SEC”. Using that same calculator these teams can all finish 7-1 and we can make it depending on what happens in the other games (I just played around with random results for the other games for a second).

SEC Catch-all Thread
Yes but this assumes over the next 4 weeks there are no more upsets. That is insane. LSU is not a lock to beat Alabama in two weeks A&M is not a lock to beat South Carolina next week Then you have all the random winning % games. Maybe State beats Ole Miss and that helps out (“conference performance winning %), or vandy has another upset. And even if all that’s happens if we finish with 1 loss and miss the championship game we are likely the 5th seed for the playoffs. I can handle that.

LSU at A&M on ABC
Not even for the chance of the playoff bye? I know it is an extra game either way. But it feels like if the ultimate goal is a NC. That bye is pretty valuable.

He is no threat to run at all right now. He had a nice scrabble earlier in the game, not sure why he still wont do it.
