  1. Smells like bitch.
  2. It’s an excellent book.
  3. Meh. Death penalty cases are extremely costly and consume a ton of resources. Plea deal for life without parole to avoid a lengthy trial makes a ton of sense for the state. In the long run, it’s also a ton cheaper to incarcerate someone for life than it is to go through the process to execute someone.
  4. That’s giving people way too much credit. We’re a decade in on this movement at this point. If you’re still on board, you’re a racist. Stupid and gullible, too? Sure, but let’s not allow people to make excuses for what their beliefs stand for.
  5. Not trying to make excuses for these folks and then proceeds to make excuses for these folks.
  6. Nope. It’s actually a pretty swell organization that supports children’s hospitals. In Austin, Dell Children’s is a CMN hospital.
  7. I can’t imagine that plays well with the Alaskan natives.
  8. A nation of immigrants scared of immigrants.
  9. Who is going to email Jerry Sanchez and let him know he won the auction for $11,450? Make sure to thank him profusely for his generous contribution to the Children’s Miracle Network. There will be some tense moments at the Marquis this morning when he wakes up to this.
  10. That machine has seen some things.
  11. It’s been a couple of weeks since we were reminded that the adults are back in charge.
  12. Love how you gave your daughter the middle aged dude reliving his time in Austin experience. Too bad you couldn’t hit up Mad Dog & Beans and Texas Showdown.
  13. The US and Israel have done more work to create radical terrorists in the Middle East than anyone and then we act surprised and offended when radical terrorists do terrorist things. Well, yeah, what else were you expecting?
  14. Not to mention completely alienating the largest demographic for his vehicles, solar panels and batteries while doing it.
  15. So don’t borrow Tre Johnson’s draft suit?
  16. Can’t speak to federal, but I recently did district court and wore jeans, button down and blazer and was overdressed compared to my peers.
  17. Damn, pilots are always the most trustworthy source of accurate information.
  18. Dude, your plan sucks. There’s just no other way to put it. It benefits one very, very small subset of teachers who happen to teach in public schools with wealthy parents. Normal workaday parents can’t afford to tip teachers. They’re struggling to put food on the table themselves and many of them make much less than the teachers. It’s a dick move to suggest that these folks should dig out their wallet and hand over cash to their kid’s teachers. But, by all means, your wife should get a gratuity because she has the good luck of teaching in a wealthy school while those other teachers working in the poor schools dealing with tons more social issues and challenging students can suck it. Maybe your wife can drive over to the poor part of town and hand over some of that cash to her colleagues in those schools. I sincerely appreciate your knowledge and commentary on educational funding in this state and I haven’t read a single thing on the subject that you’ve written on this topic that I disagree with except for this particular item. On this one, you come across as unmoored from the economic realities faced by the vast majority of public school parents.
