  1. Last night on the Seahawks/Saints ESPN pre-game show they called out the B12 refs on this ridiculous penalty.
  2. The bicycle was visibly unscathed but I would assume that the bearings were blued a bit from the overspeed and heat condition that they were in.
  3. A few years ago my daughter was home from UT for the weekend. While home she decides to go for a run. Some time later I am working outside in the yard when I see this person on a small 20" bicycle madly pedaling at a speed that would have made peak Lance Armstrong proud. I call out to her but she does not break stride nor even acknowledge me in any way. She is staring straight ahead with a grim, determined look on her face. As she turns into the driveway I call out to her again. Still no reply. She dismounts the bike at near full speed. The bike continued forward under its own power for several feet before it crashes to the ground as my daughter does her best Olympic speed race walker imitation into the house. A bit later she comes back outside and fills in the blanks for me. She was about 3/4 of a mile from home when the moment hit. She sees some random kid (about 8 years old) playing outside. She tells the kid that she has an emergency and that she needs to commandeer his bike with a promise that it will be returned. About an hour after my daughter's mad dash home we throw the bike into the back of my truck and return it to the rightful owner. As we are pulling into the kid's driveway we see the kid in the front yard. A big smile crosses his face. As we are getting out of the truck to retrieve the bike for the kid the mom is coming out of the house with a "look" on her face. Before she could get cross with us I tell her that she has a nice and kind son. I didn't go into detail with her for the need of the bike but was just thankful to them. She did say that she told her son that he would be lucky if he ever saw his bike again. I am assuming that is why he had such a big smile upon its return.
  4. My now ex and I used to live in a neighborhood that was very popular with trick-or-treaters. People from around the community would come in droves to have their kids, all dressed up in costumes, come for the treats. My ex tells me to hand out extra candy to the neighborhood kids. Me: What did you just say? ex: give the neighborhood kids more candy. me: And just how am I to know which ones are the neighborhood kids? The have mask and costumes on. ex: no words, just the look and tone.
  5. I went to an App State game a couple of years ago in Boone. IIRC it was "Senior Night". It reminded me of a large Texas 6A HS game experience for the most part. Nice setting for a stadium.
  6. Missed it. What happened to Overshown?
  7. Working from home in rural 75650 anxiously waiting for the commencement of tomorrows game and ultimately running the table for the rest of the season. FIGHT!!!!!
  8. Funny. I saw the movie this afternoon. I enjoyed if for what it is. I also was wondering about the workers in the factory as well about their pay or thoughts about what they are doing.
  9. There are so many things to say...yet I don’t know what to see other than I am disappointed.
  10. Trying, I repeat, trying to get some work done today from the 75650 but...you know, Texas/OU weekend!! TEXAS!!!!!
  11. Beat me to it. Came here to post that. He was above 1000 yards only 4 or 5 times with one of those years at 2000 yards or so. About 7500 yards for his career.
  12. The cameraman trained the camera on them for a while but some dude kept getting in the way.
  13. Similar incident for me in the Wasatch Mountains just outside of SLC. Was hiking alone and was walking through an open meadow and came around a corner and walked up on a cow and her baby moose. Being that I was out in the open and cover was sparse I retreated to the nearest tree where I was stuck for about 20 minutes waiting for the pair to exit the area. The mom kept a sharp lookout.
  14. Love old vehicle photos and classic roadside signs. Nice job.
  15. From the immortal words of Fred Akers, “A win is a win is a win”. Would I have liked it to be more dominant? Of course but the team did what it took to win. The previous two coaches would have lost this game.
  16. In on page 1 of this wonderful tome of Horns dominance over the cockroaches.
  17. Hard(ly) working from my home office today in the 75650! TEXAS!!!!!
  18. Wow, just wow. What a crazy catch.
  19. This ranks up there with providing party gifts to kids that attend your kids’ birthday party.
  20. It will not end well. When my now ex and I bought our first house she decided that she did not like the wallpaper (when that was in style) in the master bath. So we agreed to replace it. But first the old pattern had to be removed. So I rented a steamer to remove the wallpaper so that I could remove it once I got home from work. Well, she could not wait for me to do it. While I was away at work she got in there and removed the wallpaper herself. The problem with that was that she got the wall too moist and pulled the paper off of the drywall along with the wallpaper. I ended up having to refloat the whole bathroom. What a mess.
  21. From my office in the 76502, only making it 'til noon today and then off to play some hoops. FIGHT!!!!!
  22. Nothing covert about that deal...
  23. That would be nice, but, no. There is just something about me contributing money to someone else for them to enjoy. So, with that, I would not feel comfortable in soliciting money to drive around the US on vacation at others' expense.
  24. Perfect. Many thanks.
