  1. Truth. I was a student there from '84 to '88 and I was, and still am, a diehard fan but wearing your school colors at the game was simply not a priority. You pretty much wore what was clean or the "cleanest" of clothes. However, I do wear with pride my school colors on game day now.
  2. Failure to notice trends or engage in deductive reasoning. Neg.
  3. Just spent the last hour talking off and on with a TSN CFL Insider (Dave N aylor) in the Montreal airport while waiting on my next flight. I expounded on Maziel's suckage. He doesn't seem to be a fan either. There is a lot of trouble to get into in Montreal!
  4. I just decided to attend the game with my daughter (Texas-ex 2014; sorry no pics) and my son-in-law. They live in Raleigh/Durham. I am trying to decide if I want to drive from East Texas to DC and make a mini-vacation out of it or fly into RDU and ride up with them. How is the normal tourist crowd around the National Mall during early September?
  5. This is the truth. I have been invited to a wedding on Sunday, October 14, the day after the UT/Rapelor game. I asked why they were getting married on a Sunday. I was hoping that it was to appease everyone not to interfere with college football since I know the groom and his family are big sports enthusiast. The groom started out playing baseball for Vandy but later transferred to TCU and played on their World Series teams. The bride and groom are both TCU grads. However, to my dismay, I was told it was because of the price and availability of the venue. The bride's parents are dentists. The groom's father is a grossly wealthy CPA that has his own successful firm. I guess that if you have money that is how you keep money!
  6. This right here. It has been narrowed down to someone lying.
  7. Who wants to be around that many aggy en masse? I would not want the responsibility. I already raised my kids.
  8. They were playing when I was a student there from '84 thru '88. The unis looked good on the field but if my memory serves me correctly you wore pretty much whatever color you wanted to the games as a spectator back in those days.
  9. This right here. And with the palm of your hand facing forward!
  10. The mom is from Arkansas. The kid is doing the best that he can.
  11. This year's winner of the Earl Campbell Scholarship from Tyler will be attending Texas A&M. The news crew was playing that fact up. Earl was OK with it. He said that A&M helped him win the Heisman in 1977. Earl, my man.
  12. Impeach him. He was voted in. Vote his unappreciative butt out already. Either that or keep his bust under wraps until a more "favorable" time to unveil it which in this case should be never.
  13. I have been to India multiple times on business and I have seen these monkeys firsthand. I have never seen them do this before but I can see it happening. This made me laugh out loud. I had to close my office door to watch it again!
  14. Not true. They won WW2 with just a few good aggys.
  15. Who are these people? Tom Arnet and Cameron Hill? Really? Not true fans.
  16. Yes, he is the younger brother of Thomas. He played for Tech and in the pros for 4 or 5 years as well. When you hear "Daingerfield" you think of the Everett, Mims, Herndon, and Edmond families. They produced a lot of stud athletes.
  17. DKR THE Cotton Bowl AT&T Stadium SMU- Cowboy Stadium Independence Bowl Floyd Casey Alamo Bowl SFA West Virginia
  18. Eric Everett from Daingerfield. It was in a scrimmage fortunately. Most people that know Texas HS football knows about the Daingerfield program in the early '80's. Also, not sure of his name, we called him "Marvin". He was from Liberty Eylau. Played TE and trucked everyone in his path. He looked 25. Played with Chris Shafer. He was a LT and a DT. Meanest person I ever came across on the field. Quiet and meek as a mouse off of the field. Went on to play and start for Texas Tech as a guard.
  19. All I see is a brunette coed with a really short white dress on walking down the aisle.
  20. True, but we don't want aggy in our neighborhood.
  21. Watching his highlights gives me goosebumps. Such a dominating football player. He would have excelled at LB as well. To top it all off he is a class act all of the way around. It was during my junior year (1987) at Texas I was taking a sociology class called "Sports in Society". We would have guest speakers and SI was a required reading. Earl came and spoke to the class one day. While he was talking he became thirsty. There was a student sitting on the front row with a Dr. Pepper opened. Earl just walked over and took a big swig of it, gave it back to the student and went on talking. About 10 years ago my son (about 13 at the time) and I ran into him at a catfish joint in Longview. It was such a pleasant visit. It was at that time I realized how I had failed as a father because my son did not know that much about Earl. We went home and fired up YouTube and watched endless videos of the greatest Longhorn ever. The son now knows.
  22. I was sitting in the North End Zone for this game. It was glorious to watch this formation from that view.
  23. Here for the inauguration.
