  1. And yes, that's Jon Rahm still on 15 at the top of the Freddie photo...
  2. Couples skipping on 16 (everybody who hit a tee shot then attempted a skip, at least for the 90 minutes that we were there). Yes, I saw Rory almost hit the turtle.
  3. The future champ pitching from behind the 15th green (he hit three or four). Taken from the tee box bleachers on the 16th tee with a lot of zoom.
  4. My Dad early Tuesday morning. What a fucking great day.
  5. You only need to do something if you want to add/reduce/move seats (assuming you renewed before the deadline last month). If you want your seats the way they are, you don't have to do a thing.

    RIP Clem Burke

Just a beast behind the kit. I remember an interview in which he apologized for playing “too hard” on “Dreaming” and that it would have been a bigger hit if he had toned it down a bit. Fuck that, Clem. Your performance on “Dreaming” is pure perfection.
  7. Had an incredible time out there today with my Dad (first time for both of us). Walked the whole back nine and spent the biggest chunk at the grandstand for the 16th tee. Everyone was skipping shots in addition to the regular tee shot. I think I got some decent photos with my ancient digital camera. If so, I’ll post some when I get back to Dallas.
  8. I was in Columbus in 2005.
  9. This pretty much describes his opening monologue when he hosted SNL a few weeks ago. I guess hosting SNL is just an awkward situation for a stand-up comedian, right? He was pretty good on the skits but damn the monologue was brutal.
  10. My wife is a Xavier grad and a huge hoops fan. She’s at the park with our kid and I have to tell her when they get home. Nice knowing you guys.
  11. Joe just bumped us after Boise’s win and he still has UNC as last team in.
  12. We all know stormtroopers can't shoot for shit, right? So when they capture Leia at the beginning of the VERY FIRST movie, the troop leader orders a wide stun field so that they can just knock her out and capture her. Why do they NEVER use this wide-field stun again? Seems like it might have been helpful on many occasions...
  13. I’m 2 episodes in and I just don’t know. The performances are good and there are some genuinely good moments, but the fact that we’ve already been subjected to two down-tempo covers of “Another Day in Paradise” and “We Built This City” is just lazy and manipulative. If episode 3 contains a slow piano version of The Jam’s “Going Underground,” I’m going to throw shit at my TV.
  14. i have watched "Steel Magnolias" many times. Many, many times-- including last night when I stumbled upon it on one of the movie channels.
  15. This Boise coach is reminding me of some early 90s comedian who wondered why athletes and coaches always praise Jesus but never blame him: "We would have won if Jesus hadn't made me fumble."
  16. Also— best flight delay EVER.
  17. Watched the whole second half at an airport bar in Columbus sitting next to a guy with a nephew on the OU squad. He is not happy.I rather enjoyed it.
  18. My wife and son are flying to Ohio next Saturday for Christmas. My ass will be driving down to Austin for the game, and my flight to Ohio is Christmas Eve. I booked it this way two months ago— you know, just in case…
  19. You walk him and pitch to the rhino.
  20. Great way to start the weekend! Hook ‘em.
  21. As a completist, I own every Dylan album but must admit that there are many I've rarely played. For the past few weeks I've just been hitting shuffle on the entire collection-- It's a wild ride, man. So many fantastic deep cuts, especially on the Bootleg series. How in the hell did he not put "Blind Willie McTell" on an album? Or "Series Of Dreams" and "Dignity," both of which could have made "Oh Mercy" a masterpiece? Of course, you also run the danger of running into "Wiggle Wiggle" and that's two minutes you'll never get back...
  22. On Friday I made the hour-long drive to the Plano HEB because my autistic son loves that place. While we were checking out, the checker says, "You know we're going to kick your asses, right?" "Excuse me?" "My Aggies are gonna destroy you on Saturday. You won't wear that Texas shirt again." "Well, I guess we'll see, won't we," was my only reply. Yes, I'll be making that hour-long trip again today. And I will choose my check-out line very carefully.
