  1. Ranks 1, 3, and 4 are eliminated in mg league. It’s me (#2) vs 6 and 8 v 5 in the semis. Coin flip every week but I’m feeling good. my dilemma - do I sit kyren?

    I was rock hard.
  3. My understanding is that you just drive around until you see a barn with metal signs. Whoever lives there will give you a tour of their antique cars and Coca Cola stuff.
  4. I know that they are discovering their own shit in different ways and this is old man yelling at the cloud stuff, but finding Space Ghost Coast to Coast way past bedtime at a jr high sleepover or just sitting around with your college buddies watching Austin public access… there is something to be said for the passive mode, the lack of choice.
  5. Well for one, they stopped making theater comedies. That sucks. i feel the same way, but i have little kids and only an exhausted 20 minutes a night for tv. It’s mostly just something easy and light and requiring little attention, which is often rehashing some old shit I’ve seen a million times before.
  6. Just remembered that I haven’t gotten my dad or stepmom anything. Can I crowdsource any ideas for rich old men who mostly sit around? If I could buy him the bug-a-salt again or the Calvin and Hobbes anthology that would be perfect.
  7. One of these guys was the first person I met in treatment. Big friendly smile, rural Oklahoma, youth football coach, hurt his back mending a fence or working cattle or something like that and here he is in Hunt TX getting cured off the oxy with the rest of the degenerates. His daughters were beautiful, crying with him during family week. I hope he’s alive still.
  8. Yeah a garmin. I think im gonna get her that thing and a bibfolio and some other stuff.
  9. yet one more dick measuring contest that has devolved into a discussion of minutiae
  10. Well I had a fun Thanksgiving too. Heading back to La Hacienda in a few weeks for family week. It's interesting that at the time I went over the ledge and crashed, there was no real substance abuse to speak of in my family. My dad drank some scotch most nights but it wasn't a problem. No crazy uncles really, or at least not any related by blood. And then in just the past couple years it has cropped up in a few different places. I'll call the currently affected member a cousin. She had gone for treatment a few months back but it hadn't seemed to have stuck. She was supposed to bring her elderly parents up to Austin (bad idea, but not my circus) the day before thanksgiving and nobody could get ahold of her all morning. Finally someone got the mom on the phone and she was still in bed at 1. We arranged a car and had a friend get over to the house to get everyone into the car, and as best as we can tell there was no more imbibing on the trip up from Houston and she was still fucking blasted. Anyways, I got to be point person because wife and i are sober and I helped get her set up and dropped off at La Ha. Kinda fun to go back there, I'm looking forward to going again. I've talked to her and her husband and he sister since she's been down there, she's doing much better, and feedback from everyone is how much different this place is than where she went previously. It makes sense but it sounds like the other place was essentially a house where they took them in a van to an IOP in a strip center. Wife and I were just talking about our time there and trying to remember all the characters. It is interesting how many of those people are dead. And just even in my own feelings the casualness of remembering different people we haven't kept up with at all that we both agree are probably dead.
  11. I clinched the playoffs so it doesn’t really matter but I’m playing #1 who is in first place on some bullshit. Currently have a 94% projected odds of winning (darnold vs stafford and some other good matchups). This one is for the homies lol wait wtf Jonnu Smith had nothing deep into the 4th quarter and ended up with 14 points again? That’s where That percentage shot up.
  12. I’m never buying her shoes again, it’s never worked. I know she has hokas and Nikes, looks like she ran the last marathon in Nikes. I know she’s tried Brooks too.
  13. Moore or Allen? I’ve been defaulting to Moore all year but Allen has been performing better and Moore may be playing with a slight injury, still questionable.
  14. I guess this is the running thread? My wife has gotten into running. I've had a terrible stretch of having no time to focus on things since a week before thanksgiving and am running out of time to figure out her nice-ish Christmas gift. I finally got her a peloton tread+ last year and she just did her first marathon, finishing just a smidge under 4 hours. I don't need to go tread+ big again but I need something more than a stocking stuffer - is a "Stryd" interesting/worth a shit?
  15. We travelled to Texas for Thanksgiving, and 4 different times (including absolute strangers at the airport) parents of older children asked me to explain what kind of dark magic our stroller was But really it was great - the little guy didn’t even have to get out of his seat after the plane landed. Out the car, rolled through he airport, down the jetway, carried onto the plane, strapped into the plane seat, carried out, strolled through the airport, and then seatbelt installled in the rental.
  16. We’ve entered the season where my wife disregards how the Nest works or what our generally agreed upon comfortable temperature range is and just jacks the “heat to” temperature to 75 and then down to 63 based on how she feels at any given moment. I couldn’t do figure out why the 11 month old’s nose was constantly running and then I realized that the whole house is down to 30% humidity and now I’m just running humidifiers everywhere and quietly adjusting the thermostat. I wish I could just give her a dummy app.
  17. My recollection of eating at Ninfas as a little kid was me getting the “El Rey” (two puff tostadas covered in queso) and mom drinking a sangria swirl, which was a frozen margarita with a cool looking red swirl in it.

  19. for once i made the right call, although it didn't matter much. as long as njoku doesn't tear off 35 points I'm good, and I've clinched the playoffs either way. It looked scary for a second with Darnold only having a few points into the third quarter. Jonnu Smith is the best waiver wire pickup I think I've made, I'm never drafting Kyle Pitts again or really anyone on the Falcons. If you're already clenched Higgy I'd go Jameis. That seems like the most entertaining choice.
