  1. I’m still dying to know why the fully vaccinated players were allowed to play yesterday without being tested with the other players. But then were tested and ruled out today. Since everyone keeps saying the rules were clear and everyone knew about them going in.
  2. Which had nothing to do with safety/science. All vaccinated players are the same.
  3. Why were they allowed to play yesterday? Why were the vaccinated players not tested during the game like the rest of the team?
  4. And they should be allowed to play with the less than 100% who were fully vaccinated and allowed to play yesterday. Because they have the same coverage as other fully vaccinated players.
  5. Who is really arguing that point? I think we all agree, if you are not vaccinated and test positive you should not be allowed to play. I believe that covers two NCST players. Not enough to make the team forfeit.
  6. This. They could get it from anywhere because they’ve all been rightly told they can ditch the mask and live life. They are of no risk, same as he NCST vaccinated players. But people are enjoying the punitive aspect of this instead of the logic behind it.
  7. What I’m “harping on” is the science behind this punishment. I prefer for rules/punishments to make sense and unfortunately this one doesn’t. NCST has enough fully vaccinated players to play today. They were allowed to play yesterday and should be allowed to play today and next week.
  8. Agreed. But no difference from an actual safety/health standpoint. The only difference is that one group was allowed to be tested and the other not.
  9. Followed rules? There were no rules broken. And certainly not by the fully vaccinated NCST players. But clearly I was talking about both teams’ fully vaccinated players from a health/safety standpoint. There is no difference. There could be multiple Texas players who could test positive for Covid. They haven’t been on lockdown. The CDC guidelines allow for them to rightfully live a normal life. They aren’t tested because there’s almost zero risk. Same for the NCST fully vaccinated players.
  10. It should play out with testing being scrapped. No one is at risk unless they have made the choice to not get vaccinated.
  11. Which is a risk for literally everyone in Omaha. No one is on lockdown.
  12. The “other group” has made the same “personal choice.”
  13. Those are the rules. And multiple posters have huge boners over the punitive aspect of this. But from a health/safety aspect, there’s no difference between the NCST fully vaccinated players and the fully vaccinated players on other teams.
  14. We agree the rules are dumb. I don’t know how clear they are. They certainly weren’t clear to anyone yesterday. I don’t see how any clear rules would allow those vaccinated players to play a game yesterday during a covid outbreak. But then require them to be tested right after and be ruled out for the next day.
  15. But what’s the difference between the vaccinated NCST players and the vaccinated Texas players? Both have the same protection. Both should be allowed to play no matter what. These teams are not on lockdown. They have days off and can do whatever they want. They can “get it” from anywhere. Doesn’t have to be an unvaccinated teammate.
  16. Hell no, I don’t. I think it beyond stupid that fully vaccinated players were tested and ruled out. I’m just saying we aren’t really concerned about those players having Covid. That’s why we don’t even bother testing most of them.
  17. While true, think about that. They are essentially having to forfeit because of the four vaccinated players that played today testing positive. Otherwise they could at least roll the same lineup out tomorrow. Had the whole team gotten vaccinated, those four could still “have covid”, we just wouldn’t care to know. That could be these case right now with any of the other three teams.
  18. Sounds like they may be getting a number of guys back tomorrow
  19. Interesting. You think you'd see that happen more often. Like NCST vs. Arkansas in Game 1. Or just about every regional where arms are so important.
  20. And even if they make the championship series, there's no guarantee it lasts until Wednesday. But you get the point.
