  1. I am not a Tarantino super fan. I loved Pulp Fiction when it came out and I think it aged fine. Not crazy about any of his other movies though, in fact I think almost all of them are overrated, until this one which I think is hands down his best work. I love everything about it. I have watched it like 6 times. Definitely a top 5 of all time for me. I got the book recently, have not read it.
  2. Lots of choices but I think the worst Strong game was the 50-7 TCU beatdown. That was just so fucked. 30-0 after a quarter. My god. Dude should have been shit canned at half.

Thanks. So it's like a short qualifying race to set the grid for the actual race with some extra points for the top 3? Seems a little redundant but it leads to an additional starting lap which as I said is one of the most exciting things about race weekend, for me personally. I don't know shit about this sport but based on what I do know I think there might be some competition among the top 5-6 but the rest of the field will likely just status quo.
  4. It's obviously a taunt and clearly intended to be a taunt when it's done by an opposing player to our fans or our players. That said, I am in the camp of if you don't like something your opponent is doing on the field, then make them stop.

As someone who only started watching last season, I find the qualifying and the first lap of the actual race to be by far the most exciting parts of the weekend. What is the sprint thing they are doing tomorrow?

    Whatcha reading?

Fast Food Nation. Pretty crazy shit AND it's 20 years out of date. It presents a very high level history of fast food but its really about the consolidation and industrialization of the food supply in America.
  7. Bravo is pretty popular...I'd wager all of the mainstream services like Sling, Hulu, etc. have it. YouTube TV has it.
  8. My wife watches almost all of them. I hate them all, though there have been a few select hotties in the casts over the years. That said, I did start watching Vanderpump Rules, which is essentially a Real Housewives of Beverly Hills spin off, and for a while it was one of my favorite shows, appointment viewing for us. I think its probably going to suck now they booted some people for stupid shit, but I'll be giving it a chance when it comes back.
  9. Animal Kingdom is great fun. It is based on an Australian movie of the same name that I have never seen. Ben Mendelsohn in it and he's always a good watch.
  10. I got mine today, ordered from Amazon. It says it was printed two days ago in Coppell. That's pretty crazy.
  11. I hate it when character names are changed from books to screen. Also hated the casting of Yen and especially Triss.
  12. He used to pimp this on Barking Carnival...just went there looking for the Kindle version and that site is dead as shit. Last post was January.
  13. lol I got offered a Tivo Stream 4K. Still not bad though...completely free they cover shipping and there's no tax. They are fixing to roll out a 4K service for another $20 a month...seems like a terrible deal to me given the lack of 4K content.
  14. Spotlight. Not sure how I managed to not see this for so long but it was great. 2 hours flew by.
  15. This is 60% off on Steam, so $24. The season pass is 20% off, so $20.
  16. Geostorm. Holy shit what a bad movie. A-list cast but one of the worst movies I've ever watched start to finish. It's hard to imagine how this got funded.
  17. I recall now why I came to this so late...it was not on Steam for the first year it was released. Not that I love Steam or anything but I am loathe to add more store fronts to play games on the PC since they all suck compared to Steam. I hate the EA one, the Ubisoft one, the Epic one and even GOG with all its free/cheap content is amateur hour compared to Steam. Anyway. I am level 12 and just off the space station with a ton of different quests to do and 4 companions. Pretty wide open and fun at this point. One thing I will say that I hate is the loot. Its diablo style where its mostly randomly generated and 95% of what you pick up you are breaking down or selling. Not cool especially since encumbrance is a problem without perks or high strength. The game also has a Borderlands vibe to it IMO. In that the 'best' gun might not be for you and sometimes its a lot more fun to run with something that has a sight you like or particular effect.
  18. Just started this yesterday. Not sure why I waited so long. I see that the sequel was announced recently? Are the two DLCs for this one worth it?
  19. Fresh Fried and Crispy is pretty awesome. Huge dude that used to review fast food out of his car on YouTube apparently, who got famous enough to get a Netflix series where he goes to a city and eats at 3-4 places and then picks what he liked best. Guy is crazy charismatic and loves food like my dogs if they were people.
  20. With 10 teams and everyone playing each other there is no need for it now. It made sense, I guess, when the Big 12 was 12 teams and two divisions. Now it doesn't.
  21. We started the second season of Dear John last night and it was pretty good. I am not familiar with the real life events it is based on but Amanda Peet is doing a real good job of coming off as bat shit crazy. Christian Slater is the husband.
  22. This was a Kickstarter and in early access on Steam for a while. It got released last week I think. Game is from a small studio and this is their debut title. I started playing it Saturday and it has me hooked big time. It is a turn based CRPG based on DnD 5e. The most recent game I'd compare it to is Pathfinder Kingmaker but in turn based mode. Brand new world, ie. not Forgotten Realms which it seems like hosted every DnD game of the last 20 years. The cut scene graphics are pretty low end but the combat and the game systems are well done. I have not run across any bugs. If you like turn based combat in a fantasy setting this is well worth the $32 they are charging for it on Steam.
  23. Best thing from HBO in quite a while. Their app and service are steaming piles of shit though. We gave up trying to watch it Sunday and even last night it didn't want to load and when it finally did the resolution was bad for longer than normal. What happened at the creek and then later John's confession was exactly what I thought the ending was going to be based on episode 6. So it was pretty satisfying for them to work in a plausible scenario that was not that. Kate Winslet and her mom put in amazing work here. Also John's confession was a nice performance.
  24. Longterm I would like to see 8 and then stay there for as long as possible. I think 5 P5 and 3 at large (no automatic G5) is the way to go...that said, before we get there we have to figure out a way to make the sport more competitive at the top. As much as I hate to say it, every CFP so far it feels like only 1-2 teams has a chance to win it all. Even last year where most people didn't see aOSU wrecking Clemson, anyone with eyes knew Alabama was beating whoever. So in that regard its really no better than BCS so far. Also as far as an expanded playoff watering down the other bowls...they already are. College FBS is by far my favorite sport and I spend 12 hours most Saturdays during the regular season watching as many P5 games as I can. During bowl season, same thing. I find it very entertaining to see two P5 teams play each other who otherwise wouldn't. That isn't changing for me with 8 or a 16 game playoff. I don't give a shit about G5 (or FCS) schools unless there is a hot one like Coastal Carolina or Liberty last year.
  25. Picked up a Zion Z15, IWI's take on a basic AR-15. A little pricey for what it is, I paid $925 total. Typical IWI build quality though and a pretty nice factory trigger. Much nicer than the factory triggers on my Gen1 Ace and X95. It might be years before I shoot it though. Ammo still too steep for me and I want to hold what I have.
