  1. I see. I don't think i stated my point well. I was comparing how the teams looked in their opening games last weekend. Colorado was far more crisp on offense and the players looked much faster and more talented against a much better opponent on the road. Sark's offense looked moribund for large swaths of the game, with the Rice D-line making the Texas O-line look pathetic at moments. Yes, Rice. This is year three for Sark and I don't see it. When I compare the performance, the brilliant branding, the ability to inspire, the recruiting potential, there is no comparison between the coaches. I'm not saying Deion is the answer at Texas, but I am saying I don't believe Sark is the answer at Texas.
  2. OU game result was epic and historic, but OU didn't have a serviceable QB for the game. They essentially ended up running the Single Wing offense w a tight end, running backs and a WR taking direct snaps.
  3. Well, yes it is. Dude and his assistants get paid a fortune, has the most resources and access to the richest recruiting pool in the nation. Sark's had 3 years to get his act together and his offensive line made the Rice D-line look unblockable. Rice.
  4. Being consistent is one thing. Losing to Texas Tech last year is a whole other thing.
  5. I thought Sark was supposed to be the QB whisperer. "Per 247Sports, Sarkisian's contract with Texas is worth $34.2 million over 6 years: The University of Texas and Sarkisian have agreed on a six-year, $34.2 million contract, with a starting salary of $5.2 million for 2021 with $200,000 increases every year thereafter."
  6. I do have a question for the more thoughtful (and concerned) Surly posters: How is it possible that Coach Prime somehow put together a much more high-powered, better performing offense with clearly better players in 6 MONTHS than Sark has managed to do in his third year with unlimited resources, bottomless recruiting tools and almost all returning starters?
  7. Huge respect to you for this post. It separates you from our truth-fluid "experts," who are now claiming that TCU was terrible, etc.
  8. We won yesterday bud, it wasn't pretty but a win is a win. If you tuck in the string and man the fuck up you're more than welcome to join us Texas fans but your bitchassness isn't welcome. Congrats on the big win against Rice. The sports world is all abuzz about it. Given that Surly posters apparently prefer entertaining content, I will continue to post my bitchassness, but good luck with sunsihine-pumping stuff.
  9. Based on what I saw today, I'd rather have the Colorado offensive players and offensive coaches than UT's. And yeah, maybe TCU has fallen off, but surely they are better than shitty Rice.
  10. First it was, "they won't win a game. And, how many of you experts here assured us that TCU would throttle them? Then, in their first game, they visit and beat college football's 17th ranked team. So, as right on cue, you flip the narrative to "you will see how bad they are when you view their season as a whoie and TCU was actually really terrible." Haha, okay. Maybe CU will suck, maybe they won't, but they have ALREADY exceeded expectations for the season and guess who is the talk of college football? Some of you kinda suck at this. Thinking the same.
  11. Deion's team looks better coached than Texas, lol.
  12. But wait, I thought all the experts here said: Deion couldn't coach The new players aren't any good There aren't enough players for a D1 team TCU is gonna rip him a new one Deion once owned a school that failed Blah, blah, blah
  13. I'd say so. Looks like Colorado is better than all the haters assured us they would be. It's a long season, though!
  14. Hey, Blacklab. I appreciate your enthusiasm, but thought we'd agreed that you wouldn't post Westlake updates without running them by me first. We don't want to be sharing incorrect, defeatist-styled posts that are off-brand message. Let's discuss this in my office on Monday. Folks, Blacklab made a typo in his post. It was 77-0 at halftime, not 17-0. And the final was 141-0, not 41-0. Westlake looked AMAZING in every aspect. Our QB didn't look nervous, panicky, or inaccurate at all. We were PURPOSELY missing all those passes just to experiment with various game situations. And our running game is DESIGNED to let the defense know that the QB never runs, so they stack the line and hold our little RB to no gain. THAT IS THE GAME PLAN!!!
  15. I like to post things that entertain me, and hopefully, other people. These days, the Longhorns are adept at providing me lots of content. But I reserve my best shots for the ultimate clown show that resides in College Station.
  16. Remember how Favre wouldn't help train Rogers? What a terrible diva he was. I've never liked Rogers but if you can believe Hard Knocks, he is helping train the backup QB's at NY.
  17. It's always tending positive at Texas in August. I no longer get emotionally involved, except for Quinn Ewers, whom I got to hang with, (and caught a pass from, lol) and the Westlake players. Hope they do well, but I think they will get Sarked.
