  1. Or high 80s/low 90s……warming up next week and going to be a hot July here
  2. Decided to swap a couple of watches that I rarely, if ever, wear anymore. Went through Watchfinder and am getting rid of my IWC Aquatimer Darwin Edition and Girard Perregeaux Richeville Chrono. I’m getting the IWC Top Gun and Tudor Black Bay GMT Coke, plus a bit of cash back. There’s a fair amount of watch theft in London these days, so I was looking for a few to wear more often while giving the Vacheron Overseas and Audemars RO a bit more rest.
  3. It makes a big difference. We’re expecting some days in July in the mid 30s. We have portable AC units in the living area and our bedroom, and it makes all the difference. But I know plenty of people that just grind it out. I can’t sleep at night in the heat.
  4. British style breakfast. Lorne sausage, black pudding and an egg. And some Valentina’s hot sauce, of course
  5. Chalupa. Now you’re just talking stupid
  6. I never knew nachos were so divisive. I prefer the individual but wouldn’t say no to a good pile done well.
  7. Try and get out to the islands if you can. I just returned a few weeks ago and found Split to be overrun with tourists/cruise ships and wish I’d only done one night there. Hvar and Vis were amazing.
  8. Use a little lotion and stop whacking it so much. That should help the blisters on your hands.
  9. By deep cuts do you mean that you score the top of the pork belly? The purpose of that is usually to draw out some moisture, which helps render the fat and make a crisper crackling but you might need a bit of high heat at the end.
  10. No Raphinha, shut it down earlier in the week and now looks headed to broke ass Barca
  11. Yup. He was having dizzy spells a few days before and collapsed in the house. He didn’t get it checked out and a few days later had the heart attack. He was renting a temporary place while his home was being renovated after some floods. It is very very close to the London Heart Hospital. His son went to the hospital (which is a small private facility) when it happened asking for help but was much too late.
  12. You have more excuses than a pregnant nun. Such a whiny little bitch.
  13. Was only able to put down a deposit to get on the waitlist. Will find out if I get them in about 2 weeks.
  14. Pulling the trigger on season tickets this week. They have renovated a section and prices are reasonable on the Westview stands.
  15. Got my tickets yesterday in the presale. Can’t wait.
  16. Agreed, I’m here now and it’s getting crowded. Dubrovnik wasn’t bad because there were no cruise ships the one night we stayed. Split was heaving with people, cruise ship crowd and college backpackers, to the point it was annoying. Mostar was quiet the night we arrived, felt like we had the town to ourselves, and then the next day Mostar and Blagaj were overrun with tour buses. Vis was amazing, sleepy, not crowded at all and the beaches were mainly just a few locals. In Hvar now and it’s busy. I cannot imagine this place in July/August.
  17. From memory, Texadelphia is just mayo, guldens spicy brown and some teriyaki. I tried it with the HEB spicy brown and it didn’t work.
  18. Count me in on the Cotswolds thread. May try to do a week there late summer but may have left it too late without a booking.
  19. So true I had to say it 3 times….
  20. Mustard don’t need no fridge
  21. Think the plan is to end it with a movie. Not sure how that will translate to the big screen but agree there is room for more.
  22. I leave town for 10 days and it’s beautiful in London and raining in Bosnia and Croatia.
