Preseason No. 1 Texas A&M appeared to have the perfect get-right opportunity in its final week of non-conference play. The Aggies played five home games against mid-majors, including three against New Mexico State, who BA picked to finish eighth in the 10-team Conference USA. But Texas A&M won just three of those contests, improving its record to an uninspiring 9-6. There were still several encouraging individual performances for the Aggies. Junior shortstop Kaeden Kent went 7-for-20 with three doubles, a triple, two home runs and nine RBIs, true freshman outfielder Terrence Kiel II recorded eight hits including three doubles and senior lefty Ryan Prager spun seven shutout innings. As they desperately search for the form many expected of them in the preseason, the Aggies are set to take on Prairie View A&M before hosting No. 16 Alabama to open SEC play.
