  1. The OP explains my issue either way him and his whining about wokeness has only gotten worse.
  2. This is bad form even for a Trump nominee:
  3. Had the heads up on local butter biscuit becoming HUD Secretary. He’s everything you would not want to lead HUD in a housing crisis. He an anathema within the black community.
  4. This whole sad saga has me thinking about why preservers of the status quo are unalterably opposed to what might be learned from an examination of CRT. The scholarly framework holds that racism goes far beyond just individually held prejudices, and that it is in fact a systemic race and class phenomenon woven into the laws and institutions of this nation. Those who craft the laws and define the parameters in which institutions exist and operate, do so to ensure that results redound to their benefit. No poor or minority person in this country could ever get away with what Trump is on the verge of getting away with, and that’s because laws and institutions generally don’t exist to help them.
  5. Elon Musk has called MSNBC “the utter scum of the Earth.” He has said the channel “peddles puerile propaganda.” Just a few days ago he said, “MSNBC is going down.” And now he is posting memes about buying the channel. Conventional wisdom holds that Musk — the world’s richest man and key Donald Trump ally — and his friends are just joking. But Musk’s posts are adding to the anxiety that MSNBC staffers are feeling about the reelection of Donald Trump and the recently announced spinoff of Comcast’s cable channels. I spent Sunday on the phone with sources to gauge what might be going on. I learned that more than one benevolent billionaire with liberal bonafides has already reached out to acquaintances at MSNBC to express interest in buying the cable channel. The inbound interest was reassuring, one of the sources said, since it showed that oppositional figures like Musk (who famously bought Twitter to blow it up) would not be the only potential suitors. https://www.yahoo.com/finance/news/elon-musk-floats-buying-msnbc-150921328.html
  6. And this is just the beginning.
  7. Sigh…this butter biscuit here… https://mail.yahoo.com/m/folders/1/messages/AIoHpxdjtZmcZ0EzIwfQAAwFu6U?.src=ym&reason=mobile
  8. The somber skies and howling tempests that oft succeed the bright sunshine are upon us. We’re in for a rough two years.

  10. Butter biscuit, Scott Turner will be Trump’s HUD pick.
  11. Pam Bondi. She’s every bit as bad as Gaetz. Lord help us.
  12. The worst possible pick would be Paxton. He’s certainly mean and evil enough.
  13. The airlines are really happy at finally being done with Sec’y Buttigieg. Now they can go back to being shitty to customers.
  14. Chuckle. They may sniff around an Iceberg lettuce only because it’s the least nutritious. They’re suspicious of the other woke lettuces.
  15. Undocumented workers are 3.6% of the US population. The mass deportation that a majority of Americans voted for will disproportionately impact construction, agriculture and hospitality industries. Mass deportation will remove 30% of workers in major construction trades and 28% of graters and sorters who keep agricultural businesses afloat. A quarter of domestic household workers will be sent packing. Among the millions of undocumented workers who will be deported are one million entrepreneurs who pump an estimated 27 billion back into the US economy. Mass deportation will deprive local, state and federal governments of 46 billion in federal tax dollars that would no longer be paid, and another 29 billion in state and local taxes. When Trump deports with “shock and awe” as promised, the result will be a 4.2% decline in US GDP, which is only slightly better than the 4.6% decline we experienced in the Great Recession. Again, I want to see the look on the faces of those holding up Deport Now signs when Iceberg lettuce at Kroger is $12 a head.
  16. Heard rumors Comcast may be considering a sale of MSNBC. They’re fearing the ratings drop may be indicative of bigger structural problems. Rupert Murdoch is being mentioned as a potential buyer. This would be catastrophic. But as long as the answer to every question is money, I’m not sure what the future holds for a free media in a quasi fascist America.
  17. I’d like to hear from white people on the plausibility of this theory. Some believe Maga voter was animated by how much media attention was given to Kamala’s ability to galvanize support early on from various ethnicities and interest groups. I’m told that watching White women for Kamala, Latinos of Kamala, White dudes for Kamala, Black men for Kamala, Gays for Kamala, Republicans for Kamala, Evangelicals for Kamala…scared the crap out of Maga, and they turned out big time. Thoughts?
  18. Can somebody explain this guy? The man’s quote was included in an article by The Philadelphia Inquirer that explored how the president-elect, buoyed by voters’ economic anxieties, won Pennsylvania despite being called a fascist. https://mail.yahoo.com/m/folders/1/messages/AKQYBMQ_zQwwZzwK6gHkYDaHWac?.intl=ca&.lang=en-CA&.src=ym&reason=mobile The excerpt that went viral on social media read:
  19. Haven’t watched one newscast since the ejection, and I’m a news junkie. I’m still processing all that’s happen and trying understand…
  20. I understand he’s dragging Democrats and their woke agenda in the aftermath of the election. What does Maher want, other than to recover his lost audience?
  21. Texas has just over 18,000,000 registered voters, of which about half have already voted. If we’re not careful, we’re gonna fool around and lose our status as a non voting state.
  22. I don’t think they’re allowed in Texas either.
  23. Hearing from the husbands of the two Texas women forced to die by Ted would be compelling TV.
  24. Kielce was right not to jeopardize his multi million dollar deal over some kid. Toxic fragility masquerading as bro masculinity. It’s a Maga thing.
