Guess I'm weird that I can't wait to retire.
So many golf courses to play, slopes to ski, places to travel to. What I really am looking forward to is spending 3 months in NYC, SF, Chicago and going to see every museum, sporting event and festival I can. The day the youngest graduates high school the house is getting sold and we're going on the road.
If that isn't your cup of tea that's ok. Find a job or volunteer place that you can make a difference in others lives. Deliver meals on wheels, tutor kids in math at an inter city school, feed homeless people at caratas. My wife has been substitute teaching and working with special needs kids and absolutely loves it. Comes home every day with huge smile on her face. Probably makes 25% of what she does compared to her other part time job but can't wait to di it full time.
Want to make a huge impact in a child's life?
Become a volunteer at casa: https://texascasa.org/how-to-help/become-a-casa/
You help kids whose parents are in jail or abusive, and help their lives become whole again. My sister runs a casa in a county in north Texas and the stories she tells will break your heart, but the satisfaction of helping those kids is like nothing else.
Or fuck it, you're old and have lived a good life, grab your 30-06 and head over to Ukrane.
