  1. Had a bit of excitement today that I was not expecting. 13yo was wakeboarding and dropped the rope so I circled back to get him. We get to him and he says he wants to keep going but in the other direction due to getting close to the dam and the water being so cold. I had shut off the engine as I thought he was done and the wind was heavy and was blowing the boat on top of him. I tell the 11yo to get the rope so I don't run over it and of course he can't pay attention to anything for more than ten seconds and starts talking about how crowded the lake is and we should keep going to the damn. I ask him if the rope is good and he says yes so I back up to get away from 13 year old and end up running over the rope and it gets stuck in the propeller. Go to the glove box to get the knife and of course it's not there. 13yo tries to untangle but can't, so I get in the water and immediately go into shock/can't breathe due to the water being so cold so get out. 13yo starts cutting the rope using channel locks. We're about 30 feet from a dock of a nice house and several people were on the dock so I told the 11yo to go swim to the dock and ask the guy if we can borrow a knife. Guy on the dock asks if we want to instead get the boat on his lift and I gladly accept. By the time they got their boat out of the lift we drifted about 100 yards down so he ended up getting his jet ski and towed me over. We get the boat up on the lift, I get in the water and make my way around and the rope is only around one propeller blade and twisted. In less than a minute I have it untangled and off the propeller, but of course it's already ruined by my kid trying to cut it so it's trashed. I ask how I can repay the dude and he says you can't do a thing for me, just pay it forward and help someone else out with boat trouble. So someone somewhere has help coming from me without question, not that I wouldn't have done it anyway. Looked through the truck and garage and can't find my knife I keep on the boat, now starting to wonder if some kids in the neighborhood swiped it. Realize now the biggest mistake I made was not dropping anchor immediately once I knew the rope was tangled, we could have easily washed up on dirt or into a boat dock. Second is not making sure I have a knife on board at all times. Third is not telling kid to be quiet and mind the rope.
  2. He brought his luckbox and won several hands he shouldn't have but still dumped at least $4k from 7pm-4am. Last hand I play he gets head up with Lakeway Mark and on the river pots and Mark calls by throwing out a chip. Mr. Lee sees he lost and then claims he didn't pot it. Floor comes over and makes him pay. Mark said it happened two more times after I left. I ended up losing $300 on the night but consider it a victory as I went the first two hours without winning a hand and was down $800 at that point.
  3. BigO featuring Mr Lee at Red Star tonight.
  4. no, unless you're into chubby 50-60 year olds
  5. In the monday night big o tournament at the lodge there is at least 2 hands that a large argument breaks out over who has the low. It's the A2 vs A7 on a 2378 board that usually causes the most confusion. Everyone assumes the A2 wins but both people are playing A2378 so it's a push. My all time favorite was a big o bomb pot. Big o bomb pots play ultimate high, ultimate low. So best hand on either board wins the high, best low on either board wins the los. Top board 873xx, bottom board A24. I had 53 giving me a wheel/nut low she had A2 giving her a A2873 low. She argued with the dealer for about 5 minutes that it's impossible for A2 to not be the low if there's no ace or two on the board. They had to call the floor over. She's now a dealer at the lodge.
  6. around $2k in the wrong direction
  7. There are entire villages in sub-Saharan Africa that think the Bills are 5 time super bowl champs
  8. Had an interesting tournament last night at shuffle. They do a plo freeroll every Sunday at 7pm with $1500 guaranteed. Generally around 10-15 players. Daily seat fee is $10, tournament entry is $30. Top 3 get paid. So about 20% chance to cash, and with about half the players having no clue I'm sure it's higher than that. First is $750 so 1 in 15 to turn $40 into $750. About 3 hands in a guy at the other end of the table asks "This isn't Texas hold em is it?" Guy then goes on a heater, going from $10k to over $100k in a couple of hands. One hand had AxKcJx flop, turn and river are small clubs, strong player potted all three bets and he called them all, turns over his hand and says "I only have a pair of Jacks". He failed to notice his Jack and four were clubs, giving him a flush. Strong player was livid, mumbling "fucking flush you didn't even know you had." I add on $20k figuring I should be able to double up against him at some point. A few hands later blinds are $500-$1k, get AAQJ, raise to $3k, he raises to $10k, I repot to $34k. Flop is Kxx with two hearts and he jams, I assume he's got pocket kings but pot is $100k and I only have around $10k left so I call. Turn is J, river 10 giving me broadway. No other hearts come. He proudly turns over his hand and proclaims "Nut Flush". I panic for a second and then look back at board and there's only 2 hearts. I look at his hand and it's AT86, all hearts. He is shocked and pissed he can't use 3 cards in his hand for the flush. A few hands later I get AA again and it holds up and I double through him again and he's down from $100k to less than $10k. I figured that was it but he pulled out $100 and added on to get $50k more in chips. A few hands later he's moved to other table and atm is closed. Strong player is livid he never got a chance to get his chips back. A couple of hands after he leaves I get a tap on the shoulder to move to the other table. I get all excited to get the rest of that guys money and I get to the table and he's not there. He just got knocked out. Average stack at that time was about $75k, I had $150k and I look over and a guy is still stacking chips and has about $600k, over half the money in play. I play one hand at the new table and we then move to the final table. Giant stack ends up to my right, I get AA on 3 of the first 4 hands at the final table and win all 3, stack 2 others and now have $400k to his $600k and no one else has $100k. Big stack ends up dumping all but $30k to another guy over a series of hands, but then slowly starts getting it back. Other players are all out and down to final 3 and they keep going back and forth. Finally the original big stack calls an all in with KQ on a KJT9 board with 3 diamonds and the other guy was on a semi-bluff with 2 pair. We get heads up and get it all in when I hit a strait with 63. Unfortunately he had 63 too. Then I get KKJJ double suited and we got it all in preflop and he had AA93. First card out K, turn A and it's all over as the river's a brick. Won $493 after putting in $80. Capped a good week after finishing 6th out of 144 entries in Monday BigO at lodge and having a couple of nice cash sessions on line. Much better than the previous month.
  9. We pretty much know where all the nuke powered ones are, we know where the diesels are when the diesels are running, and don’t know where the diesels are when they are on battery. during one of the libya flare ups in the 80’s Libya sent out one of its diesel boats. There was a 688 out waiting for it and tracked it. The 688 had orders to sink it if it went to batteries.
  10. Correct. On the sub we drilled all the time. I went to multiple firefighting and damage control week long courses during my time in.
  11. Oh, sorry, my bad. I should have gone back further. I got a slew of reported posts today and just went back a page and cleaned up from there.
  12. So you’re saying I should delete a political post, but not a response to a political post that asks for political examples, further taking the thread off topic?
  13. If you'd like to discuss twitter, how it's run, the election of 2020 and all the associated garbage please go to the CR Off topic posts on this thread will get some time off.
  14. If you want to argue about gun control take it to the cloak room.
  15. Guess I'm weird that I can't wait to retire. So many golf courses to play, slopes to ski, places to travel to. What I really am looking forward to is spending 3 months in NYC, SF, Chicago and going to see every museum, sporting event and festival I can. The day the youngest graduates high school the house is getting sold and we're going on the road. If that isn't your cup of tea that's ok. Find a job or volunteer place that you can make a difference in others lives. Deliver meals on wheels, tutor kids in math at an inter city school, feed homeless people at caratas. My wife has been substitute teaching and working with special needs kids and absolutely loves it. Comes home every day with huge smile on her face. Probably makes 25% of what she does compared to her other part time job but can't wait to di it full time. Want to make a huge impact in a child's life? Become a volunteer at casa: https://texascasa.org/how-to-help/become-a-casa/ You help kids whose parents are in jail or abusive, and help their lives become whole again. My sister runs a casa in a county in north Texas and the stories she tells will break your heart, but the satisfaction of helping those kids is like nothing else. Or fuck it, you're old and have lived a good life, grab your 30-06 and head over to Ukrane.
  16. From my experience nothing will happen to the other attorney. He should immediately write down everything the guy said to the best of his ability and give it to his lawyer.
  17. Got out to the track around 1:30, parked in F which amazingly was free. Went around the vendor area, bought one of the kiddos a tshirt and headed over to our seats at turn 12. What a different clientele than the golf tournament. Who the hell decided to have both of these events the same weekend. Holy fuck are the cars loud. Track limits? pfffft Bump people out of the way to gain a spot? Sure why not. So weird to see this stuff after watching F1 for a few years and not seeing a Nascar race in probably 10 years. 12 is a great corner to sit in. You can see most of the next few corners as well so I'd watch for people bombing into the turn and then watch that group throughout the next few as they battled back and forth. Bet money against #51, #27, #66 on any road course. They would get the benefit of the bunch up/restart and be half a lap behind in 2 laps. I'm assuming Chase Briscoe is related to Chad? As with pretty much everything in the world, one of my kids loved it and the other hated it. One asked to leave 2 laps into the first race and the other I had to drag kicking and screaming away from the track even though he was sunburnt and tired. We ended up leaving about 40 laps in. Had a great time and will be back next year with one kid. Kid made me look up tickets for TMS so we're probably heading up there in a few weeks.
  18. NFL playoffs are reseated after first round, top seed gets the lowest seed
  19. deposition lulz I got deposed during the case and during the deposiion the lawyer asked me if I ever used "blacklabx11" as a username. I use blaklabx11 on a few places like playstation network and the apple game center on my iphone. What the fuck did I say on clash of clans or star wars battle front that could possibly relate to this case thought as he asked the question. Then I remembered I used blacklabx11 at reddit. Oh fuck. For some stupid reason I did an AMA on reddit. the ama is here https://www.reddit.com/r/LonghornNation/comments/2g4ntd/blacklab_owner_of_shaggybevo_ama/ the lawyer slid a printout of the ama over and started asking questions. The transscript is below.

  21. Also, real reason I lost the lawsuit was Immamac was the only witness called in the trial and wasn't very convincing.
  22. Shaggy and new venture shared a rack at a colo. Shaggy paid for the rack. Other venture did not pay anything towards rack. Shaggy had no employees and no debts.
