  1. Parts of circle C is back. I’m in Avana and nada. My main valve has been off and will just hope for water tomorrow morning. At least I had the foresight to build a $80k toilet flushing reservoir that finished in December.
  2. I also pulled all drain plugs at 2am Sunday night after power went out. The valves did all freeze but with everything open I think it had plenty room to expand. I was able to get them to turn freely yesterday. At that point I checked the chlorine and it was < 1 ppm. Also a new owner and had everything pretty much perfectly balanced and crystal clear and didn't want to start all over if algae started. Fired everything up around 5pm yesterday and no issues observed. Assuming I did everything correct, at least I now know how to charge and coat the DE filter and prime pump.
  3. Two more zones officially listed as on. I'm in SWA but will check it later this afternoon for life. I've been turned off at the street.
  4. Last update was that people with water need to conserve so us without have a chance of getting water. Not liking this plan...
  5. Good call
  6. All those brewers have nothing to do with city efforts....just good people. And they've been hammered this last year and are constantly shit on by shitty laws. If you go to any of those guys also buy some beer! City message is still water on the way and planning distribution centers.
  7. I mean, I could turn it on, but nothing will come out.
  8. I guess we could start a separate thread but it's sprinkled in the 2 weather threads now. I've just been checking this page for city updates. I'm on day 3 of no water in Circle C. Best case seems late Sunday or Monday for turn on. http://www.austintexas.gov/article/operational-updates
  9. vacuum breaker?
  10. There's already two winter weather threads, but do we need a separate one for Austin water fuckery?
  11. Cute little wiener you have there.
  12. Haha, saw that...couldn't solve DIS__SSING IT WITH MY IMAGINARY FRIEND. I want to say he guessed a P at that point.
  13. If they have water, I may go just to take a shit and not need a bucket. I do stink a little though.
  14. I was able to close my front door with cord pressing in the rubber jams. Maybe I need to fix the gap under my front door.
  15. Water goes out pipes at the top, right, so no way they can empty with no water pressure coming in?
  16. Derkaville power beats Austin energy and PEC apparently
  17. The street outside my house looks like pure ice in south Austin. Problem is forecast is only 33-34 today so may be hard to access what the afternoon will look like. My brother drove here in the snow from Buda with his two kids. He just found out he has power now but is likely stuck with us another day/night if roads are iced.
  18. Allegedly it absorbs the ice expansion and not the skimmer itself. Mine’s actually not frozen even though pool is. Just three a half filled milk jug in and out cover on top.
  19. Just catching up but this is what I did at 2am last night. Still no power. Broke up all the ice with a shovel and will do the milk jug in skimmer, etc
  20. Sorry, it's only been about 6 weeks with SWCG so no issues to report. I sealed the stone coping with some shit that was $170/gal so it better work.
  21. Haha, based on my above posts I could be your neighbor regarding the automation. But as you said, have to draw the line somewhere. I did go SWCG, basically in place of automation. If you've read Trouble Free Pools, I'm sure you're aware, but you can avoid CYA creep by using pure liquid chlorine.
  22. I do not have automation. Might add later.
  23. Thomas J?
  24. Are those trucks skidding the whole way? Massive line of brake lights should be easy to spot in the dark.
