  1. Babymoon next month, staying at the Renaissance Historic District for a quick weekend. Any updates on the restaurant recommendations in this thread? Trying to stay ahead of reservations since I'm sure everywhere will be crazy packed...
  2. Of course not, this is Surly. We're only here to complain.
  3. So we reinforced our player personnel department with someone who scouted players for *checks notes*...the Texans, Lions, fake UT, Cougar High, and a CFL team that just went 3-11. Awesome.
  4. Except "tampering" is defined by the NCAA as contact between coach/institution/booster(?) and player signed or enrolled elsewhere. All you need is a single degree of separation in the form of NIL sponsor, HS coach, uncle, etc. and you are 100% not in violation. It's a stupid distinction without a difference, but as mentioned upthread, the rules suck right now.
  5. Pops is a USAFA grad, so we’re trekking down from Dallas for tonight’s game…his first trip to the Disch, pretty pumped. Hopefully Texas gets their shit together for the stretch run here.

  7. Everything except Bijan, Roschon, Keilan, and Worthy is shit until proven otherwise.
  8. Yeah, it's Disney, but IDGAF. It was a great flick and he was great in it.
  9. The rage I feel at this moment cannot be quantified. Every. Fucking. Day.
  10. Dumped TLRY yesterday morning to free up some capital, then legalization bill hits the House floor in the afternoon, stonk up 40%. FML...
  11. I was wondering where I left my mixtape..
  12. Bought flipped house last May, started noticing damp hardwood flooring in the master bedroom, localized behind the master bathroom shower wet wall...baseboard probably compromised as well, but drywall seems ok. Maybe a leaky pipe fitting from age or shoddy renovation, maybe drain seepage (had to call Roto-Rooter in October for a backup issue), maybe go fuck myself. I could possibly play dumb with insurance on the "reasonable diligence" piece, but I'm guessing the flooring damage has visibly progressed enough that they won't hear it..deductible might render it moot anyway. In any case, it's time to get moving on repair/restoration. Is it worth trying to file a claim? What's the rough out-of-pocket cost to identify/repair source, restore area, and replace 7ft of baseboard and ~20sf of hardwood floor?..I have plenty of spare flooring, if that helps. Anyone have a guy or Dalworth/Servpro-type recommendation in the Dallas/Lake Highlands area? TIA.
  13. Though ironically, lack of communication (among the flight crew) was the primary factor that ultimately allowed that crash to occur.
  14. Yes, I understand that deals can be found, but false/misleading advertising makes me surly...if the highest cost on your redemption table for a given region pair is X miles (and labeled anytime), then you shouldn't be quoting fares at 2-3x that amount. I'm just curious if this is the way they've always operated, or if it's a temporary strategy to discourage bookings that don't generate new revenue. Full disclosure: not a high mileage earner, honeymoon is the only trip I've ever booked on miles (DFW-MXP and ZRH-DFW, two J tickets for ~335k total).
  15. Has AA always been shiesty with mileage redemption awards, or is this a "feature" of their post-COVID financial situation? Award chart says 135k for J/F US-Europe AAnytime Level 2, but a few random searches showed 400k. 1.6 MILLION miles roundtrip for my wife and I??..fuck that. And I know oneworld is the value play, but the LHR passenger duty can eat a dick.
  16. Ah yes, the ol' 10-yard cushion on 3rd-and-2. Let's keep practicing that...
  17. Voice will probably be the only missing piece. Depending on MU's maintenance program, most of their aircraft flight data is likely transmitted to the airline/Boeing via ACARS.
  18. Glide capability in a zero-power condition is a primary design requirement for any certificated airplane.
  19. Assuming no structural failure, I would expect to see a glide. Wings would still be generating lift. If this RoC data is accurate, it was a HARD nose-over...
