  1. Do you think Costco is not aware that thing like this happen and has not deliberately decide to eat that small loss in order to maintain its strong reputation and brand loyalty?
  2. Honestly establishing themselves as Texas's AAA team would elevate their program
  3. Deleted, misread quoted/spoilered post, am dumb
  4. I’d be willing to bet the Venn diagram of fans questioning Worthy’s effort and wishing we had a designed run package for Maalik Murphy is pretty close to a circle.
  5. Wow this is just a brain dead take. What position, specifically are you worried about being too thin at next year? I can think of one on defense which appears to be trending toward being a net upgrade through a portal add. Probably one on offense too, but it hasn’t had any portal losses. Hilariously dumb take on Worthy that is barely even worth acknowledging. Dude was truck sticking guys all year at 175 pounds.
  6. You got laughed at because it’s an extremely stupid take. The last three years of third round selections at QB are the all star team known as Hendon Hooker (torn ACL and all), Malik Willis, Matt Corral, Kellen Mond, and Davis Mills. If you think there is any chance Ewers falls below that tier, let alone out of the draft entirely, just stop watching football. Ewers should come back to refine his game and solidify his standing as a first round pick. He would get eaten alive on an NFL field right now. That does not, however, mean he would not be drafted.
  7. Surly will continue to do its best to manifest a replacement. After three years this will be the offseason Flood benches Majors!
  8. Blows my mind that there is a nontrivial portion of the fanbase either wanting Ewers to leave or wanting Arch to jump him. I think some of us have forgotten what an open championship window looks like and how to handle it.
  9. Man I forgot about Hilton Hill entirely. You’re kind of making my point for me though. There’s been no shortage of DBs coming in and leaving as NFL prospects, despite many of them coming in overrated as you mentioned. It’s really the one group Texas consistently kept putting people into the league even during down years. For the most part those secondaries didn’t have the benefit of playing dominant defensive fronts like this year’s group did (partial exception for 2020 with Ossai finally being used correctly). Past couple years, outside of a couple new adds, it’s just a straight talent issue. That’s not necessarily on Sark as you don’t control what you inherit and it takes time to get young guys up to speed.
  10. Damn, aggy was so close to being able to putting a Bama transfer on the wall at Kyle Field.
  11. Deshon Elliott was a Thorpe award finalist; he, Brandon Jones, Kris Boyd, and Caden Sterns were all NFL draft picks. PJ Locke has stuck in the league. The issues with those post 2017 Orlando defenses were schematic.
  12. If either of them come back it’s because they frankly really want to first and foremost, and that NIL resources were found to at least make it not a financially disastrous decision to stay. Neither really has anything left they really need to put on tape. The knock on Sanders is blocking but it’s been adequate when he’s not asked to stay in and pass protect on defensive linemen. NFL teams aren’t drafting Sanders to stay in max protect, that’s just not going to have a huge impact on his draft stock. There’s really no reason for him to come back individually. Mitchell may have slightly more to gain, not from anything done on his part but because the top end of this WR class is just stupid talented. His draft stock could benefit simply from not being compared to MHJ, Odunze, etc.
  13. LSU should try being less poor
  14. I think this is the correct stance. If there’s someone you really like, shoot your shot, but you recruited all these young guys for a reason; not to mention you already landed Golden. There are bigger needs on the roster.
  15. lol we’re all saying the same basic thing. It works out fine if you get Caldwell in. DL is a little thinner than you’d like if you don’t.
  16. Uh he was already playing 15-20 snaps a game and that likely goes up. I mean, the reason the interior DL has been so good over the past couple years is that they have been able to go five or six deep with competent players like that. He’d have been your second or third best returning DL depending on where you slot Broughton. I think Texas can navigate it, especially if they can get Cadwell in, but you’d have liked to get him back. I trust that Bo Davis will have a couple of these younger guys up to speed by next fall though.
  17. Either a comfort hire that requires Venables to put a disproportionate amount of time running the defense or a Gundy whiz kid type hire. Interesting.
  18. Really the only departing transfer so far that I could see having a material impact, feel like he was in line to get significant snaps next season. Still, with Bledsoe, Bryant, Mitchell, and even Swanson waiting in the wings, in Bo we trust. Retaining Collins is huge and getting Caldwell becomes even more important now.
  19. I mean it’s Venables’s system. I don’t think it’s that consequential of a move on the field. Bigger picture it gives them a chance to add another plus recruiter
  20. Supposedly stems from a TFB report, but word is there’s a push to get AD Mitchell back. I think that would qualify. He was second team All Big 12 for a reason. Meaning he was considered one of the most productive DL in the conference outside of Sweat and Murphy. You take that 10/10 times in the portal at a thin spot.
  21. Just been enjoying poaching some of the better defenders out of the state in recent years. That gets harder in theory. Like I said, still agree it’d be a plus regardless.
  22. Me: Joseph needs to go! *Terry Joseph to LSU rumor* Me: No not like that! I’d prefer him not land at LSU just because of his LA recruiting ties. It’s on the very short list of places he could land that make me think twice about losing him. But still kind of agree in spite of that.
  23. If he’s an elite recruiter that definitely makes more sense. Can never have enough of that.
