  1. This is a crazy story…for my family as well. We used to visit Chautauqua every summer with my wife’s family. Her step mom led the women’s club there and we would go to each lecture and listen to fascinating speakers and enjoy the peaceful and open grounds. If you’ve ever been, it’s the last place you would expect something like this to happen…which is likely how he got away with it. It’s truly an amazing place. Pre internet and phone Chautauqua was a place where leaders in their field would come and enlighten the audience with what was going on in the world. The first house Edison electrified is there (or hotel or something of his firsts)…Amelia Earhart landed her plane there to speak. I was there one summer when they had a sports leader section and Roger Goodell spoke and I met him next to the stage. No cars, only bikes…arts, literature, music…some of the best ice cream you’ve had…just a really special place. Great historic homes everyone stays in on property. Still unreal to think about this happening there. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chautauqua St. Stephen’s site in Austin was originally a Chautauqua as well.
  2. I love the griddle in the middle of my stove top. I don’t need six burners. I use it all the time. All gas. No breakers.
  3. Mine was @ four years ago…price has doubled.
  4. I drop the chicken in the hot skillet in the oven first. Then pour potatoes on top. Midway through I stir everything up and bring the chicken more to the top and let it get nice and browned. You will have some nice crispy potatoes and we’ll as some delicious soaked in juicy ones. it’s really good. Makes great leftovers heated back up in oven too. I usually do at least 1/2 more pound of potatoes than recipe calls for (they’re that good). If you use less (recipe) and a whole bird, you will get very crispy as long as they’re exposed around the chicken while it cooks. The 425 degrees is key in this recipe.
  5. No, all done at same time and super easy to make. I brine my chicken pieces the night before. Makes the rotation at least monthly. Also, I add onions to the potatoes. https://www.bonappetit.com/recipe/cast-iron-roast-chicken-with-crispy-potatoes I did my first few batches with whole chickens but now I prefer to put in cut up pieces. I typically cut each breast into thirds.
  6. Cast iron chicken and crispy potatoes.
  7. It is horse shit. Both my kids are 20+ but since they are drivers under policies I pay for (their cars) on my new car they (USAA) gave me a double rate bump quote. I was like WTF…I’m the only one driving this car…they said “no lube.”
  8. Plain metal roof here. Darker colors reflect up to 40% less sun. I’ll never do another style roof in a heat zone.
  9. I attribute most of my success to my kids. To me, they are one of the most beautiful things you can create in life. The drive I had to make sure they were going to be in a good position when they reached college was unreal. As others have said in earlier posts…pretty much everything I do is for them. My youngest will be out of college in a couple years…at that point Mrs. Tailgate and I will be relaxing somewhere and hoping to be grandparents. Love being around little ones. FWIW 18 months is the magical moment IMO where they’ve finally come out of their shell completely and you can “see” the person you’ve created. Enjoy them each and every day…time flies and the next thing you know they are out of the nest.
  10. Shanghai 2006. Complications - Arm Waving
  11. I thought I read they were trying to settle and Watson’s team wanted six games and NFL wanted at least 12 and they could never agree. Hence, tomorrow’s judgement. I also saw they wanted a large fine attached also…like $8m. We shall see.
  12. Check out Esperanza…they did/do a stay x nights get one night free…truly exceptional from room to service.
  13. Is Kirkland the sweatshop they say it is? Would it be worth it for a a baby lawyer to put their time in there and the opportunities might be greater in the long run?
  14. I’ll be lurking for them. On the SMU boards too….unfortunately nothing compares to Surly.
  15. Thanks for the reply. They are looking at summer 2L. They have a gig this summer….the goal appears to be checking out as many firms as possible to see what fits best. They don’t want to litigate…they say…but I think they would be a great litigator…so, we shall see. Hopefully they get experience doing and seeing several practice areas.
  16. This relative is lucky….and yes because of hard work…but looks like MWE is bringing an opportunity also….so hopefully as a 1L about to start 2L they have a chance to see several firms and find the best fit.
  17. Really appreciate the input you’ve given in this thread. Haynes & Boone presented a summer opportunity that will be taken advantage of.

Looks awesome. What state are you in? Also, are you doing autoflowers? If so, have you checked out Mephisto Genetics? The pics I’ve seen of their seeds being grown on Reddit are nuts. Have a friend in a legal state who just sprouted their Double Grape autoflower. Thing is growing fast and chunky.
  19. 78739 checking in with a nice five-minute pour down. Settling down now.
  20. Bummer on the cost. However, should be a great trip with the family and a cool experience for the kids. Still have not checked off Greece on my list.
