  1. Cooper's forced fumble, 11 tackles, and 3 sacks against Alabama was just meh right? Like I get talking shit just maybe get closer to the target
  2. Point and laugh that they hired SS Rum Runner's successor to be Bilbo's successor.
  3. Yeah honestly I'm not sure what aggy affords us in the portal. They have some front 7 defensive talent that could be interesting but we need DB support and none of their WR move the needle enough (except maybe Moose) to overlook the issues and the rest of their offense is a hard pass.
  4. He had a nice run as pinch hitter. Man that 1986 crew will always be my favorite team because they sold an 8 year old on the game of baseball for life. Kerfeld wearing the conehead mask after Scotty's no-no is still etched into my mind
  5. Over a 162-game span from June 18, 1986, through July 10, 1987, Davis hit .307/.405/.629 while launching 49 homers and swiping 93 bases. If you shift the dates back a bit, from June 8, 1986, through June 27, 1987, Davis hit 46 home runs and stole 99 bags. He’s the only player in MLB history to have a 162-game stretch with those numbers. A composite of the two periods yields 49 homers and 99 steals. The 50-50 club? Try 50-100.
  6. Yeah my pops has a few of those at the house as well as we had the similar assessment that Davis was destined for absolute greatness (maybe not Rickey Henderson level but close).

  8. Yeah he had a pretty badass run from 1986-1990 the Reds won that World Series then he got hurt in 1991 and just never regained that late 80s mojo.
  9. 1986 was the year I started following baseball religiously and that year we had the anomaly of anomalies (at the time) which was Ricky Henderson posting 28 HR and 87 steals for the MFY in the AL and Eric Davis posting 27 HR and 80 steals for the Reds in the NL. Davis hit 37 HR and had 50 steals the following season.
  10. Being an ag is hard work example 314,984,192: https://texags.com/forums/5/topics/3419597 Lack of self awareness on aisle 5 at Kyle Field
  11. To be fair Sherrill had to cheat like a muthaphukka to keep up with SMU (see: Dickerson's Trans Am) to get aggy to their norms while the SS Rum Runner got handed the keys to the kingdom by their only recent coach who knew how to assemble an offensive line but didn't know how to build a viable coaching staff to manage them.
  12. No he resigned due to mental strain and his love & respect for the school stupid sip! https://www.latimes.com/archives/la-xpm-1988-12-13-sp-227-story.html
  13. Yeah him not having an offensive coordinator was definitely what cost him the job. He had a viable NFL starter at QB and a really good OL in 2011 and how Mike Evans didn't see the field that year is an all-time head scratcher. There was no way he was going to stay 5 seasons and he should have gotten some action with Swope drawing the double teams.
  14. https://texags.com/forums/5/topics/3422786 Threatened the tu power structure is one way of saying got busted for rampant wanton cheating just not sure I've seen that dialect used before.
  15. Elko is the pragmatic reasonable and likely best choice for them. I'm not sure I apply those attributes to Sharpe & Bjork. If it is Elko my expectation would be he brings Johns & Santucci over but would restore Robinson to DL/co-DC/AHC title to keep him around.
  16. Memphis yes I know it's a stretch but Beale Street is still fun
  17. Let's not kid ourselves here.... The SEC is chalk full of shitty places to live... College Station is at least reasonable driving distance to civilization which puts it in the same realm as Athens, Oxford, Lexington, etc. Perhaps you have not been to many of the SEC venues but suffice to say almost none of them would you opt to go visit for any other reason than a Longhorn football game.
  18. One advantage of transfer attrition is you get to recruit more players out of high school which boosts your recruiting rankings. Stupid sip
  19. He claims Archie is his friend. Of course the fact that two former ags are current NFL coaches is also relevant somehow. Its amazing how bad Sharpe botched the Bilbo hiring + turning aggy into a diploma mill and Bjork botching Bilbo's extension that these two still have jobs. Its pretty abundantly clear they don't know what they are doing but they work for rubes so onwards the mediocrity death march continues.
  20. Pate thinks you are a flat earther #stupidsip
  21. Them hiring the SS Rum Runner's replacement would be in the annals of high comedy. I am not sure there is a hire out there that is viable that won't bring some level of lulz to the table before they even coach the first game.
  22. Referencing yourself in 3rd person would be a nice CStat add to offset losing the Boomhauer dialect.
  23. Yeah I don't expect any of them to announce the bounce pre LSU game. I don't think the Texas Bowl will be enough to slow the roll once it starts.
