  1. Saw it at Alamo this afternoon. First of, haven’t seen a movie in theater since Barbenheimer… and it was actually quite fun. Missed the movie going experience and after watching the trailer for F1, def want to catch it again in theater. As to Mickey 17, solid B-, I found it entertaining but not in the same ballpark as Parasite. Love the sci-fi setting and the dystopian future is way too real these days. However, found Mark Ruffalo’s performance a bit too over the top, and Toni Collette was way under used.
  2. And now for something completely different… what a beautiful video essay

  4. Well, the actress that opens episode 1 is certainly stunning… and all grown up from her brief appearance in Harry Potter.

  15. That’s kind of where I’m at as well. It’s good/fun to celebrate the more positive aspect of our state’s history and mythology. But the rah rah Alamo, fighting for freedom as a country aspect is challenging to reconcile with when you learn about what most of the Texian residents and their Tejano allies were fighting for.
  16. Wonder when the leopard will come for some in the community featured in this article? Talk about not caring because it hasn’t affected them yet. The Nation Needed This

  18. Really informative and interesting. I always enjoyed her past work on Vox. What’s AI or Not?
  19. She’s having a hard time keeping up with the show… as she described it’s too real which kills the desire to watch.
  20. I guess credit to you that you're honest about that "chaos," as a possible means to an end. I would assume that goal is primary, and hurting any and all people in its wake is just the cost of doing business?
  21. Sounds like the perfect opening scene for your typical BBC detective show.
  22. No, not that it matters cause it makes for great drama, but the show is like a month's worth of ER incidents rolled into one shift.
  23. Worst/best plotline for a horror movie ever.
  24. I thought the song choice was perfect.
  25. Ummm... I'm sure some of y'all will find this post on Bluesky hugely engaging:
