  1. Might even be witnessing a shift in their attitude towards being pro-corporations & free trade as well now.
  2. It’s hard to assume positive with you WWS… you’re a real piece of work.
  3. Had a blast running the Austin 10k. I highly recommend it for all as part of their cardio fitness journey. Heck for those not able to run the whole thing you can even walk it. The music made it so much fun. Nothing like a mariachi band to play you off from the starting line. Signed up for the 1/2 marathon in Houston in October. Will be a good test for the next one in Jan 23.
  4. Oh there’s plenty of room for all with my criticism. But since I’m an American and seeing the role some evangelical Christians have played with current politics here, that’s more top of mind for me.
  5. … can be beautiful, noble, peaceful, thoughtful…. But the people that practice it are often jerks, especially here in the U.S.
  6. Wonder if a guy got between these two former bffs.
  7. Dude, what’s the matter with you WWS?
  8. I like how his example of Dems getting private security is basically Hidalgo in Harris County.
  9. No sense in posting this in Daily Texan and found this recent study from Pew Research Center interesting: https://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2022/04/20/how-the-american-middle-class-has-changed-in-the-past-five-decades/?position=9&sponsored=0&utm_medium=email&utm_source=pocket_hits&utm_campaign=POCKET_HITS-EN-DAILY-RECS-2022_04_29 I know as a community we all have notions of the status, progress, or lack of progress with the middle class. Well, here's one source of data for evaluation.
  10. Love that season 2 is already filmed and ready to show later this year (hopefully).
  11. Gotcha gotcha... and yeah as with many things. It's complicated. Totally recognize that my POV is about "white collar" positions where hiring managers and their HR partners still automatically slap an BS/BA requirement. And I'm reading/seeing trends to where that should be going way as well! Right right, I'm not in an entry level position at all, so what you're saying is fair. Something we've been working on/tweaking with some of the open roles on our teams is adding language like this: "We recognize that candidates (especially female candidates) feel they need to meet 100% of the job criteria in order to apply for this role. Please note that this is only a guide. If you don't tick every box, it's ok because it means you have room to learn and develop your career here. "
  12. Well fatty we're all subject to biases of what we see around us. A college degree is still a barrier many have to cross for an entry level position... but with that said I think there is a recognition in industry how that needs to change. I work at Apple and no way I would be in my current role without my graduate degree. Also that 1/2 number Tim mentioned is likely from retail. And I'm seeing more and more of the retail folks with degrees. But as you can imagine, there are lots of young people that's still figuring shit post undergrad and retail is a good way get them started. After 2-3 years most decide they want to move into corporate, stay in retail, or move on.

    Helloooo Mrs. Hutchinson
  15. I wonder if that's where that business concept came from. I remember hearing someone tell me about one in the Bay Area and it seemed all so random!
  16. Hey hey be specific. It's all those dang Vietnamese. They're like the Cubans of the area.
  17. Well I'll be... it's closer to blue than before. Will be interesting to see how that trends. But all the frustrated GOP folks there fuck around by donating to GOP candidates around the country.
  18. If he's moving to Orange Co the joke is on him. Those frustrated GQPers in the OC are some of Abbott's biggest donors.
  19. Respectfully WhatTheBuck, but you’re awfully ornery about the smallest little things sometimes… and your meter needs a tune up!
  20. The libs invented time travel! No way these plaques are accurate . More reason to stop their nefarious ways.
  21. Can’t recall if it’s been mentioned but the theme song for the show is awesome as well.
