  1. There has got to be a flag or ways to stop law enforcement personnel from bouncing from agency to agency as a means to escape their past actions. Wapo article about a police chief, his past, and how it finally caught up to him. Really good multimedia article too.
  2. The funny thing is bureacuracy was created/implemented ages ago point to cut down on hiring without merit or using familial relations. I've no longer see it as purely bad... sometimes it's very necessary.
  3. Cool, now I can binge through all the episodes of this season right?
  4. I sure hope this comes true.
  5. Goodness, what a start for the Bills. How are they gonna screw this up in the second half?
  6. Bad monkey and after party are both frothy fun shows.
  7. Maybe that is his hobby! Also so much this... I understand the arugment that the rest of the world benefits from the innovations that pharmaceutical companies put in, but like wild_turkey described when capitalism is broken... it just exacerbates/magnifies the issue here. There's nothing wrong with making money for these companies but it's just getting to a point where they're recouping their R&D and then some (I'm in no way claming I fully understand the intricacies of the pharma industry).
  8. Boy the Unreal episode brought back some memories of LAN parties…
  9. Well fuck you Mitch, there was something you coulda done about this
  10. Sadly it's not anymore... you're starting to see it creep up in other industrialized nations as well. I do think other nations especially Europe/Asia living in more dense cities where dependence on driving is not nearly as high and walking/public transit can get you around helps curb some of its impact. But holy crap after coming back from Japan/Taiwan recently... the amount of unhealthy fried food and junk food readily available everywhere was eye opening.
  11. Cautiously optimistic. Just concerned how they’ll give some nuance when basically every faction sucks and is evil.
  12. The funny thing is IF drugs like ozempic was cheaper for those people… especially those truly struggling and not just making poor lifestyle choices it actually would have the virtuous effect of healthy eating. Apparently the junk food and fast food industry is worried about the side effects of ozempic and wegovy because many no longer have the cravings for those type of foods. it’s a fascinating topic… we have so many tools at our disposal. But culturally the use of some raise issues as personal failures and others don’t.
  13. Loved the first one, excited to for this sequel.
  14. Ah, gotcha gotcha. Thanks for the clarification. In my defense you’re still reading more into it than what I wrote originally, which is my fault for not being more specific. I wasn’t implying Sark will succeed. I don’t know if Sark will win national titles but I’m just acknowledging that his rebuilding of Texas into a title contender (which I’m pleased with) is different than Smart. Who’s the current barometer of success.
  15. I think you misunderstood my post. Nothing I wrote suggested we should discard Sark.
  16. As great a culture as Sark has built and established with the players… I wonder what the culture is like with the assistant coaches/analysts speaking up on his play calling.
  17. Not a Quinn hater but any stretch of the imagination but it is extremely dissapointing—you really hope an experienced player like him should be better at the fundamentals and decision-making.
  18. Admittedly I don’t keep up with FA landscape, but the availability of 3rd baseman to sign must be awful if they’re prioritizing to resign Alex for that much. What am I missing? It doesn’t seem to me that he makes the Astros that much better especially with his slow starts and recent playoff performance.
  19. The less cynical side of me isn’t about tell better lies but… it is VERY CLEAR that Dems suuuuuuck at communicating to the American public. Ethos, pathos, logos…
  20. Must be nice to have a kicker like that
  21. Yeah if I was a GM, hard to pick higher than that… also hard to imagine him being something other than a career backup at this point.
  22. Didn’t it take Smart a few seasons before breaking through at Georgia? And he took over a program in a way healthier shape from Richt than Sark did.
  23. Thanks for helping bringing this program back to prominence Quinn… but er, not exactly gonna miss him when he leaves after this season.
  24. Well, that was… not fun.
  25. Sigh… not targeting but damn. Still set up well for Georgia
