  1. I am on this track and trying to determine if I should do something else. My career choices have been by default not design. Got an MBA from a good school in my early 30s and worked hard to get to a GM/VP level role. I make more money than I ever aspired for and think I will be retired by mid-50s which sounds awesome. Only problem is that is still 13 years off and I find myself living for weekends and Holidays. Monday through Friday's are intense and I don't enjoy much about those days. I am at a potential career inflection point and debating if I would rather make less money and work later into life if it means I can start enjoying M-F a lot more.
  2. I know this looks bad for Jared but it was clearly a joke I'm guessing? I mean, no way a follower of Jesus Christ would tell the president to fuck himself on Christmas eve right in front of his children after cordial conversation right? And obviously his wife wouldn't be so dumb as to brag about it on social media immediately afterwards? Otherwise it would appear that a lot of Trump supporters are classless, dumb, liars, and claim to be "followers of Jesus" while acting horribly.
  3. Just embrace the rich villain persona. Everyone hates UT athletics. Exes like Arkansas, Texas A&M, and Nebraska. Soon to be Exes like the entire Big12. The bottom tier of the SEC will hate UT too. Stop being the Jonses but also worried what the poors say about UT
  4. Agreed, no way he let's this be "the last word on him". That said, he likely is only going to schools where he believes he can dominate. Most of those schools either don't need coaches or just hired them this month. He will be at Texas or FSU next November.
  5. "Jay Jay's family urged him to go to the hospital, but he just told them he needed more sleep ... and that was the last time they heard from him." + Rep for Jay Jay. If you don't want the vaccine, if you don't want to follow mask mandates, then keep your dying ass away from the hospitals. Don't jeopardize the lives of the care givers and other critically ill patients there because you're ignorant and selfish
  6. Now Finish This PDX!
  7. Will be interesting to see who BK has lined up for his assistant jobs? Not an easy road if neither your O or D coordinator join from the previous job and you start fresh. That said, I think he made multiple major changes at ND which worked out well.
  8. Mark Whipple, Pitt's OC coming off a big year, resigns and is expected to take the same position at Nebraska. This is an odd fit to me outside of the big raise he will get. He led one of the nations top passing offenses but is going to a team with no QBs that can pass. Also, Frost is 50/50 to survive next year which could make Whipple's stay in Lincoln quite short. Maybe he is just really old and wants to cash it one last time?
  9. Not an Texas fan. I am a Nebraska fan though and we can't get anything right so your theory might still hold water. Alternatively, there may be a very simple reason why he hasn't be hired by a top tier program to date? Let's wait and see.
  10. So then a charity would sponsor a player to generate the 50k for them? The excess they generate from those efforts, not to mention the awareness they receive goes to the charity? If so, that is a pretty awesome way to leverage this NIL to do some good in the world. If not, I will go read some more about what this effort and save you the time to compensate for my poor reading comprehension.
  11. Is the goal to generate an excess of 50k annually per lineman via NIL which will then be donated to charity? In essence, you believe NIL could generate (hypothetically) 100k per lineman on average so the additional 50k not paid to the lineman would be distributed to charity? Or is there another charitable approach I'm missing in the awareness piece you mentioned?
  12. He has been a top DC for quite a few years now. Texas, Florida, FSU, Miami, Ole Miss, Auburn, LSU all have come open and all have hired external during that time frame. Coaches are set up to be moderately to greatly successful at any of these jobs yet he ended up with none of them why? Either ADs don't see him as a HC at a big time school or he didn't want to be a HC. Either way, concerning if I'm an Oklahoma fan.
  13. They promoted from within on 3 of last 4 hires. Their one external hire was Willie Taggart. Should be really interesting to see if they get the gang back together (Chip/Helfrich), promote from within again, try and steal another top 20 HC, or go the up and coming coordinator approach. Kiffin isn't going there but I kind of love the idea of him being the face of Nike U and trolling the PAC
  14. So Oregon now "steals" Chip Kelly from UCLA and UCLA brings back Jim Mora from UCONN? Circle complete.
  15. Miami is going to regret this. Unless Cristobal gets Brady as his OC right now
  16. I don't want to watch that boring ass game again in the NC game. Would rather see something new.

    Brian Kelly to L$U

What coaches have good records in the cfb playoffs not named Saban, Dabo, Urban? How many NC contending programs hired better coaches in the past couple of offseasons? If you don't have Saban, Meyer, or Dabo chances are you're going to have to be ok with going 10-2 or 9-3 often and hope you have a breakout year every decade. Thats the reality for nearly every program including UT, UF, LSU, USC, Michigan,OU, etc
  18. Fuck You Auburn
  19. And now 17 points later. I bet Alabama will score 50 today (reverse jinx?)

    Brian Kelly to L$U

Not going to be a good look for Kelly when ND is playing in the CFB playoffs for a NC.
  21. I've read rumors that Whittingham might be close to retirement. Rose Bowl appearance after a conference championship seems like a good way to exit.
  22. I remember the nearly untethered optimism NU fans had when they landed Frost during that same cycle.
  23. Have a GA post that shit on their locker and peace out. They aren't good enough for LSU anyways. Bobby P did that to the Falcons and was banging students on his motorcycle at the next stop. Can't lose approach.
  24. Until CFB playoffs expand and Saban retires chaos reigns and will become increasingly commonplace. The success that Saban, and to a lesser extent Urban & Dabo, have experienced warped CFB fandom expectations. USC, ND, tOSU, Oklahoma, Texas, Michigan, Clemson, LSU and Alabama fans think their schools should be in the CFP most of the time. Georgia, PSU, Oregon, Wisconsin, Florida, FSU, Miami, Texas A&M, and Auburn fans probably expect to be there every few years. Nebraska, Tennessee, Minnesota, Washington, VT, Baylor, TT, MSU, Utah, UCLA, OkSt, OleMiss, MSST fans all still think the stars can align for them for a nice 6-8 year run. So many schools I am overlooking here. Fans have unrealistic expectations, they can only measure success via CFB playoffs or Conference Championships, so coaches won't get much time to prove it before being cycled through.
