  1. The problem with murdering Asians is that an hour later you’re already ready to murder two more.
  2. Just eliminate the coin toss and make the decider something teams have control over. Team with the fewest turnovers gets the ball first, sudden death. Or the most total yards. Or fewest penalty yards. There’s a million things they could use instead of a coin toss.
  3. Nah. The risk/reward suits me fine. I can re-key the house locks in 10 minutes and cancel a few cards with a swipe on an app. The two cards that would really matter get carried with me. Never had a car broken into in my whole life. Of course it could happen, but carrying a bunch of stuff irritates me and I’m not gonna be in that state every day just to avoid something that unlikely. I think watching my dad hoard, collect, stash, and generally always be the guy bringing way too much shit everywhere has molded me to do the opposite.
  4. This is what makes me think there’s more to the story than we are hearing. Nobody’s turning around in the air for basic peaceful mask non-compliance. Those are generally being handled exactly like you described. The ones making the news are the ones that got escalated into something beyond the mask.
  5. Check into CLEAR. it’s superior to pre-check when it comes to getting thru TSA quickly. Last summer they were doing a 2 month free trial and I was able to time that to cover 3 vacations. It’s every bit as easy as the website claims it is and you can sign up for it at the airport in less than 10 minutes and use it immediately; there’s no waiting for approval. Your membership covers the kids too. https://www.clearme.com/enroll/?p=GBREXTRIAL&gclid=EAIaIQobChMInoWPrufI9QIV0Rx9Ch2JPACgEAAYASAAEgJiAPD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
  6. Grind beans, heat water in a proper spouted kettle, pour over the grinds. No brewing machine necessary. I use a chemex if I’m making more than a cup. I use a Melitta cone and #4 filter over a mug when it’s just me. Simple, easy, perfect cup of coffee. 7-8 minutes tops and half of that is heating the water while I’m getting dressed.
  7. I quit carrying a wallet a decade or so ago. Have had several systems of phone cases, money clips, untethered folded bills, etc... For the last couple of years I’ve had this JimmyCase. It’s a strong elastic band on the back of the phone case. It holds quite a few cards but I despise carrying a bunch of shit so mine stays slim. I carry a debit card, one credit card, and my license. Cash gets folded and kept right there with the cards. It’ll easily handle a dozen or so bills along with 7 or 8 cards. The elastic is really heavy duty and stays tight I keep traditional wallet in my car with a bigger chunk of cash and all the other cards in my life. Gas cards, insurance cards, a couple other credit cards, various membership cards, etc... There’s just no need to have that shit on your person. I’m also a minimalist with keys. I carry one single key. My car key. Home locks are all keypads and the house key and every other key in my life is on a key ring that stays in the car with the aforementioned wallet. Having all that shit in my pockets would drive me crazy.
  8. Been meaning to get out there. Never been. I recently learned they have gun ranges there too. I camp and mountain bike at a place up not far from there. A stop in on the way home would make for a pretty good weekend.

    RIP Meat Loaf

He's taking a pretty big lead out there, almost daring him to try and pick him off. The pitcher glances over, winds up, and it's bunted, bunted down the third base line, the suicide squeeze is on! Here he comes, squeeze play, it's gonna be close, holy cow, I think he's gonna make it!

  11. Maybe some of you are tighter with your doctor than the rest of us and there's nothing wrong with that, but the finger up the ass isn't really as necessary anymore. My doc says he hasn't done that in years, it's all PSA test now. The CDC agrees. But ya'll carry on with your freak selves.

Give Me a Phat Beat is the greatest thing that has ever graced our Jumbotron. Haters can fuck right off. They should still play it today.
  13. The location doesn’t sound quite right but the description sounds like Hyde Park Grill. If so, it’s still there. That was the genesis of the peak of my post-divorce dating. Met a UT senior there for a tinder date when I was in my early 40’s and spent one glorious summer banging her. Life is still good but it certainly went downhill from there.

    All fax no printer.
  15. I find myself at Hobby airport once a week and the best thing I do in that neighborhood is get the fuck away from it as quickly as possible.
  16. The only thing more annoying than the hard-core Apple fan boys are the douchebag panties-in-a-wad iPhone haters.
  17. I make a monthly trip to goodwill. Sometimes I just start noticing a little more clutter and I just start boxing shit up. If I haven’t worn it or used it in the last year I get rid of it. If it costs me a little money by having to buy something later on that I otherwise would’ve still had, oh well… it’s money well spent. My dad is a lifelong collector. In his later years he’s trying to cull all his crap and is constantly trying to unload stuff on me. I don’t even spare his feelings anymore because I hate having a bunch of shit. I just tell him “that’s cool dad but if you give it to me I’m throwing it away.”
  18. I got It from my son a couple weeks ago. If I hadn’t tested positive I’m not sure I would’ve been convinced I had it. Light chills, just a touch of headache, and a little congestion. A couple Advil a couple times a day took care of any discomfort.
  19. I’ve been Guadalajara a few times. It’s a massive city of at least a few million. I’m sure there’s some cool areas there but mostly it’s just a huge city. Copper Canyon isn’t far from there and it’s pretty interesting.
  20. I’ve had good times in Guanajuato and San Luis Potosí. Old towns, street markets, cafes on the plaza, great food, etc… I wouldn’t call them hidden gems but it’s a taste of real Mexico that the beach resort tourists don’t see. Of course there’s San Miguel de Allende but it’s pretty overrun with white expats.
  21. The panel charges a lithium iron phosphate battery that powers my refrigerator. And plenty of room for the lady friend.
  22. End up at La Mota 1 again. I looked around at other spots but all the good spots were taken and we like Mota. It’s about 2 hours from the pavement. Spent the first night at Upper Madera right there on 170, for convenience after getting in late. Had a great breakfast in Terlingua then headed out into the park the next morning. Perfect weather. Lows in the upper 30s, highs in the upper 60s.
