  1. Notre Dame’s schedule is pretty front loaded. They open with Miami, bye week, aggy. They really need USC and Cuse to be good to give them some national juice/attention down the stretch. Freeman vs Cristobal in a close game could lead to some very entertaining coaching decisions. I’d be stunned if aggy beat them in South Bend, but Northern Illinois did exactly that last season. Enjoy it while it lasts. Elko has said before he doesn’t want to schedule marquee opponents during his tenure at aggy.
  2. He said something like Gibson is a one cut back, and guys in front of him on the depth chart are better fits for what Texas wants to do on offense.
  3. I don’t understand. Gerry said it in a podcast. Why is this a controversial? Gerry and Bobby were answering questions at the end of the podcast. A Gibson playing time question was asked in the chat, and Gerry answered it.
  4. Finished it late last night. - I’m glad the thread hated the Ryan twist. It doesn’t undo the greatness of the show, but it was bad for all the reasons laid out upthread. Apple’s Presumed Innocent has exactly the same twist and very similar reasoning. At best Presumed Innocent is lazy. At worst they plagiarized a recent popular show. - Brianna was an awful, ugly fat bitch. They nailed the casting, acting, hair and make up. - I hope Dylan is looking at jail time for shoving a gun in Jess’ face. She’s cooperating, so you think the police would eventually get him. - I felt really sorry for Erin, but she made some horrible choices. Banging her much older cousin. Dating Dylan. Living with an alcoholic father when Jess and her mom would probably have taken her in. Getting catfished by an obvious American Eagle ad. Meeting her crush for the first time at a party in the woods she knew Brianna and Dylan would be at. She just seemed too innocent and naive to survive in that horrible town. - Why did the family allow Erin to live with Billy? How is that not raising alarm bells with Lori? - I guess I’ll chalk it up to being an inexperienced cop, but Zabel should have drawn his gun and arrested Wayne Potts the second he heard the pipe shaking. It seems pretty unusual to let a kidnapping suspect just go in the back of the house to grab stuff. Zabel was the most likable character on the show. Tough to watch him go out like that. - Lori has her work cut out for her. Son in juvenile detention. Husband and brother in law in prison for obstruction of justice/tampering with a corpse And oh yeah she has another infant to raise. - The show is an indictment of Gen Z just being unable to function. None of them have jobs or prospects. All of them are on drugs or are struggling with recovery. None of them of are raising their children, and depend on their parents to be parents again and again. - I consume quite a bit of true crime content. I’ll give the show credit for telling a nuanced story. In the real world, 99 times of 100 Dylan would be the killer. Hell I’ve listened to that podcast dozens of times.
  5. The title of the show must have fooled you. Common mistake. I believe Kelly references Notre Dame once in his reasoning for going to LSU. Lea never mentions ND.
  6. Gerry said his skill set is limited and he’s not a great fit for the offense before. I think we’re seeing that in fall camp.
  7. I like Dante’s game. Long curve developmental guy, but there’s upside at the end of that rainbow.
  8. Chatman filling in for Goosby and the offense not missing a beat is encouraging.
  9. I believe the Mariners were betting favorites to win the WS as of Tuesday. Good to see them cooling off.
  10. Just started it. I assume it gets better given the reviews. Very, very busy pilot with about 6 dozen characters. Can Mare just openly drink wherever she wants including a school?
  11. I don’t think they can afford to fire him. His buyout is $51.7 million in November. So let’s call it $60 million to buy out all of his staff. Another $40-50 million to hire an elite HC and staff. The money is just not there. I think we’ll see more P4 teams play out the string rather than pay massive buyouts. It happened this past offseason in the SEC.
  12. Correa leading off has potential. Altuve has said many times he doesn’t want to bat lead off. Might as well flip them.
  13. I don’t think I want to leave in a world where the Blippi guy is worth 9 figures.
  14. It feels like Day insisted they run the ball down Michigan’s throats and Chip Kelly was just following orders. Different offense with nothing to lose/targeting Smith 15 times a game.
  15. This piece of shit movie is always going to be a funny footnote on Benny Safdie’s IMDB page. That’s probably how I’ll remember it.
  16. From what I’ve gathered, people didn’t like this movie because Alana Haim looks like Gollum. Good actress, very charismatic, just not pretty. And that’s OK. She’s a successful musician and probably doesn’t care. Perhaps John Michael Higgins’ funniest role. The ad agency scene killed me
  17. Nice. I must have missed those, but I didn’t go The Library very often. I remember Paradise made a really good Texas Tea.
  18. It’s never not going to piss me off that On3 hired Pate. It’s gives him the sheen of credibility.
  19. Looch was a groomsman at his wedding. What does that tell you?
  20. Raptor mating season was more intrusive at least in Wyoming. This a good start. Locals have been bitching for years that the prairie chicken wasn’t even endangered.
  21. Why would ESPN do this? There’s no contractual obligation for them to do it. BIG has more schools/inventory, more TV sets, and many, many more living alumni. ESPN’s initial offer for 9 conference games was low, but it’s a starting point. Obviously they’re not going to open with their best offer. Hopefully the dialogue is continuing. This shit needs to get fixed. Texas will go 42 days between home games this year. This is not what CDC signed up for.
  22. Guesses: The “Dark Hearts” are a stand in for the Pagans MC. It is Philly after all. Tom Pelphrey’s crew are 3 brothers that rob drug dealers, and they of course run afoul of the Dark Hearts. Maybe a survivalist/prepper backstory? Not sure on Ruffalo’s character, but he looks like shit and it appears his life is a mess. He has a True Detective Season 1 level performance in him. I hope we get to see it.
  23. If I didn’t have spoiled ass dogs, I’d just order a 2 meat plate at Pit Room. Moist brisket, jalapeño sausage + pinto beans, green beans, and get out of there for $25.
