  1. I have Travertine which is a type of limestone, one of the harder ones but it is limestone. What kind of limestone do you have? Leuder stone is softer and then there is also field stone limestone and cut quarry blocks. If you have the cut blocks then you have a problem no matter what kind of water you have because that chalky stuff will wash away, get mildew stains, leech impurities into the pool and stain, etc. I will assume you have Leuder. See this post I made earlier, It is more about the CSI of the water not the salt. We did not treat our travertine. All I do is wash it down if we have a big party to get some of the residual salts off the coping. I spray it down at least once a month, sometimes more. Keeping the balance with Salt water is not too hard. Getting TA down and CH up is the only part that was hard at first then they stabilize. Salt Water will tend to go scaling more often than etching. Just watch your acid applications and maybe dilute the acid before adding it. I have not but I usually put on the waterfall and it keeps any acid from splashing back on the tile/coping. A few tips: Use liquid chlorine for shock instead of Cal-Hpochlor, once you have everything stable test for chlorine and pH about twice a week, TA about once a week and CYA and CH about once a month.
  2. Sneaking a ban on jeans with the deceptive language
  3. Yeah, keep that big "Z" logo on it and then talk to some Ukrainians.
  4. well that and obviously Scotland.
  5. Just remind those Fox/Pravda watching dumbasses that this puts the gas on high for their #1 fear, white replacement theory.
  6. Zelle No Fees (typically), your bank pays them Transfer is from Bank Account to Bank Account with no middle man Because it is to your bank account you just have it. You don't need to transfer it again, tie it up as Venmo Funds or pay a fee to use your money. Venmo is like getting chips at a casino and then having to go to a window to cash out where they take a fee to change chips into cash. If you already have your Bank's app on your phone you can just use Zelle from there. No need to add the Zelle app to your phone.
  7. Same. Why have a service monitor it? I would rather get a priority alert on my phone, turn on the camera to see what happened and then decide to call the cops myself. Does not matter if I'm home or on the road except to be alerted by the app or by the siren going off. Off chance I'm on a flight and can't check the app? Well I guess the perps can deal with the alarms while they look for shit. I looked into the Ring with the system that ties into the whole house sensors but having to set up monitoring made me stop. As far as I'm concerned you want two things, deter people, and collect evidence if they ignore the deterrents. Put up signs and visible cameras as the first line deterrent. The alarms are the 2nd line deterrent not the monitoring. The cameras catch the evidence because they will be gone by the time the police respond. What are the best options for self monitored systems?
  8. When I listed deep water ports I meant Sevastopol specifically. I should have added a note about Sevastopol and spelled it out. There is the military and export aspect. I was even more vague about the symbolic nature of taking that port and agree my fourth point should have been about the political, symbolic and national pride aspect of Crimea. The subtext being a finger to Russia. But Trey already covered the symbolic and I was adding the “real” aspects beyond the symbolic. I’ve been working fast at my real job and cutting communication to essential elements and I let it carry over here because I knew you all would know what I meant.
  9. My understanding is the value of Crimea is in: Deepwater ports Extending the territorial waters The undeveloped O&G reserves in those territorial waters
  10. Damn, MTG should have gotten that Italian satellite shot down by the Jewish Space Lasers
  11. Aggy law would be worse
  12. This is the guy that was the environmental lawyer, right? Never argued in court. Go back to your office and we'll call you if there is an oil spill.
  13. It was Passover, the menu was fixed, unleavened bread and bitter herbs It doesn't need to be church of satan, just get some Islamic or Hindu schools set up for public funding. Wiccan would also be fun, little Hogwarts academies.
  14. Yeah, but it is possible that the bicycle guy was also drunk. It could also be that he was a dishwasher at the local Applebee's and just got off his shift and was trying to get home by his only means of transportation. Back when I was in college I had to walk down a dark 2 lane road between my house and the local grocery store going to work to stock frozen foods. I jumped in the ditch more than once.
  15. The doors are supposed to be locked at all times. Standard procedure is that they have something to prevent it from latching like a magnet or something. They pull that when there is a lockdown and the door is already locked. One particular door was reported as not functioning properly and it did not lock. It was supposed to be serviced by maintenance or something. Either that or the magnet was not pulled in time. Regardless the door was not locked and the police never checked it. The DPS chief grandstanded with a cutaway of that type of door in the State Senate chambers the other day to show how it works. I volunteer as a Sunday School teacher and our doors are like you describe. We have to put a magnet on the outside of the door, shut the door and lock the lock from the inside. I don't even have any keys. This prevents people from spreading keys everywhere.
  16. Donald vs Ronald, whatever always reminds me of this
  17. This is why the FOIA on the body cams was ignored. Not even responded to, which is a requirement under the law.
  18. Oh, and my wife is now a receptionist at our local High School. She's the one responsible for tripping the alarm, locking the school down and trapping a threat in the "corral" at the entrance. I'm sure state leadership will want her to carry a gun now instead of preventing people from getting them that should have red flags or are too young and violent to responsibly own them.

  20. Cross posting this from the DT thread. MSNBC tearing everyone involved a new one tonight. Here are some of the things reported on national news: Everyone was keeping hushed about it to not release anything before the November election to protect Abbot The Uvalde District Attorney was the front person for the messaging to not release anything but she apparently was not investigating anything since the shooter was dead. There were 91 State Troopers on site most of them part of Abbott's operation Lone Start Border Interdiction including all the high leaders of that operation, Numerous City and School Police There were at least 12 officers with body armor, ballistic shields and AR-15s in place within a few minutes of the shooting They had a door breaching device The doors were never checked by the police in the hall but they were looking for a key The doors could only be locked with a key from the outside so the shooter could not have locked it from inside At least one door was not locked or the lock was inoperable They were there in numbers with equipment within minutes, they never checked the door, at least 3 more volleys of fire were shot over the next hour Governor Abbott was trying to cover up these facts until after the election and his task force is in the crosshairs now. The School Police Chief has been suspended and the City council voted not to give him a leave of absence from his council seat so that when he misses his third meeting his seat is vacated The Mayor of Uvalde who berated Beto for saying they are doing nothing is now criticizing Abbot and the DPS. He is fighting back against Austin A FOIA request for the DPS body cam video was ignored and has turned into a lawsuit against DPS The Federal Border Patrol showed up, assessed the incompetent dipshits they were dealing with and they breached the room and shot the killer while all the DPS and City guys were outside holding their dicks.
