  1. Judging by how fast this bus is going in this traffic I could probably just walk up to The Punchbowl instead, but we’ll see if it starts to thin out well before the first wave hits.
  2. The low lying grocery stores are being told to empty. People still walked in like it’s no big deal. This is the Target attached to Ala Moana. I was down there today at B&N reading amd whatnot. Seeing people not have an appropriate fear for Mother Nature and the power of water is frustrating at best. I at least got on the A bus before it filled as O know it empties up on Pearl Ridge. Some of these people need to just walk north at the very least to higher ground.
  3. Good to see you two check-in. I am going up to higher ground at Pearl Ridge. I live down near the old Dole Cannery and I see how it gets there just for heavy storms, much less this.
  4. These people not getting out of the water on Waikiki are nuts.
  5. Something told me not to head to the beach today on the North Shore. It’s what I usually do on a day off.
  6. Had two warnings in the last hour for a possible/probable tsunami that would hit Hanalei over on Kauai around 7:10 HST.
  7. F Cancer. Great ballplayer from when I was a kid. Chicago Cubs teammates, opponents remember Ryne Sandberg - ESPN
  8. His actions following the sinking of his PT boat should have gotten him a MoH.
  9. When this guy kicks the bucket he moves to the front of the line on the grave pissing tour. Jesus tapdancing Christ that is one of the most horrific things I have ever seen someone say. He needs to be thrown under the jail.
  10. For starters I'd let Jasmine Crockett do more of the talking for the Democrats. The woman that verbally destroyed MTG, wore a hat that said "F Donald Trump" with the whole word and continually eviscerates the cult in Congressional hearings seems like someone you might want to hand a bullhorn to when you have to start to deprogram 80 million clowns. Trying to say things nicely won't work anymore than attempting to talk the average German out of supporting Hitler in the 30's or, for a better comparison, the Italian populace and its support of Il Duce for almost two decades. Release the hounds and tell decorum to sit this one out.
  11. Self-reflection has been something I have done a great deal more of the last five years and change. One thing that I have always had issues with is noise. The earliest memory of a noise related incident was my brother and I playing when I was maybe 3 or so. We were playing and my dad was attempting to watch a movie that had alligators in it if memory serves correct. He was never loud, but he yelled. It shut me down. I had to switch jobs today not because I did not enjoy the work or because of the people (they were really cool), but solely because the noise and environment was overwhelming me and causing excess stimulation. If any of you have ever felt burnt out at times this has been a life-long issue and at times can derail things for me in life. Had I known I was on the spectrum as a child I would likely have received help and guidance on this. Mostly I just navigate this issue myself. Sometimes good and sometimes not so much. I get burned out mentally and emotionally much quicker than y’all ever will. Recognizing it though, even later in life as an adult, does provide me peace of mind knowing when too much stimulation is just TOO MUCH. Sometimes when I explain this people attempt to be kind by saying they feel like that too. It’s not the same, but I get the sentiment of wanting to be nice. I feel like autism provides me a whole bunch of good, but this would be something in the con column.
  12. Round Rock Donuts was the only one that I've ever really, really loved.
  13. I'm glad for him being able to beat cancer and get back to coaching. I'm glad he told everyone to go get checked out, especially calling out African-American men for not wanting to go to the doctor. His words, to paraphrase, "If I didn't get checked out for one thing they wouldn't have found the other and we'd be having a whole different celebration right now."
  14. Reading the article would give an answer to this comment.
  15. That's beautiful man. You like to use the term "good egg". Well, you and the people you know are a whole good carton of them. Tell that man he's doing God's work and there are people on the internet that he does not know that think what he's doing is pretty awesome.
  16. These people…Hoo boy! We’ve got a dictator stealing millions and millions of dollars of our money and they decide to try to force AOC to pay more for a dress she rented four years ago. I want the House Democrats to form a new committee when they have control of things and have it called the committee on morals, social media and internet related ethics. First thing to investigate is Mike Johnson’s computer to see what VPN he is using to view porn. Might as well make a complete spectacle out of that cowardly little person. Right after that they can investigate Jim Jordan for the Ohio State wrestling abuse.
  17. On my mom’s side of the family there were Scottish ancestors. Her mom’s family came over from Scotland in 1640 or so if memory serves correct. One of them founded Wofford College. I think that @Ghost of LL would find that humorous and he knows why. All of those wonderful Scottish insults of TFG sit well with me.
  18. He's right. Every single generation gets conned into believing their wealth is being stolen from them. That one party keeps doing this successfully to each generation does say a bit about the average intelligence of the citizenry to keep falling for it.
  19. Do not let the guilt fester. This has nothing to do with knowing and not having power to stop it. You do not need to feel guilt. What you do need to do is keep talking about what is happening. Talk to anyone you have a chance to talk about this to. Be vocal and warn people who might not be paying attention to what is going on that America is in a really dark place right now. Bad people are always going to exist. Stephen Miller will be replaced decades from now with some other heinous trash that has similar thoughts about immigrants and will try to act on them. This is the story of humanity. It has played out thousands upon thousands of times in recorded history and plenty more before that. If your goal is to fight back you do it creatively and in a clandestine manner. The Resistance in Europe to the Nazis did so in secret. Same thing here. You don't need to get a bullhorn and tell everyone what you are doing to make ICE's work harder. You just find something you and perhaps a few friends can do together to resist and you keep at it. Never give in to guilt though. The only time I want to hear guilt is when the y is added to the word and we get to eject a few million traitors from the country to spend some quality time at Guantanamo and eastern Russia.
  20. I'd do it for free just so I could ask him what it feels like to know that formerly oppressed South Africans all hate him. What's it like knowing that your beloved apartheid was a massive failure?
  21. This movie was a 10/10 for me. I’m not even a gearhead and I loved this one. The soundtrack from Hans Zimmer killed it. The racing scenes were intense and actually made me feel like a fan. Javier Bardem is still great. Brad Pitt was so freaking fun. My father was a lifelong gearhead who began working on Mercedes back in the mid-50’s in war torn West Germany at age 9. This movie would’ve been right up his alley. If you don’t like watching this you might want to just stop watching movies altogether. Lewis Hamilton is right and that they need to wait a good long while before doing anymore F1 movies. Let this one get all the accolades it deserves and build on it when the time is right. Just a beautifully done movie in every single facet.
  22. That is what a soulless and completely garbage human looks like. I can’t wait until he gets caught up in TFG’s web of grifting. Rubio is the very definition of a heartless coward who has no moral principles to follow. He took the Linda Graham route and does whatever he has to do to advance his career no matter the cost to the people who live here. Find one of those Jewish space lasers and use it to shoot that guy directly into the sun.
  23. I think you will be. I never was a Superman fan as a kid, but I loved the newest movie. I like the retro futurist vibe they used for this one. Kinda neat to see honestly.
  24. I know I’ll go to see it just because I like the Avatar world and whatnot. Aren’t they supposed to have some kind of Avatar VR world or something? I feel like I heard that mentioned at some point.
