This site collected data from 191 big boards, 1491 first round mock drafts and 1528 team need based drafts to generate what it calls a Consensus Big Board. Based on that crowd-sourced data, here's how players were drafted vs. their consensus rankings. A negative number implies a reach. It should be no surprise that Dallas, Detroit, and Minnesota had the biggest reaches. Best available...

Agree. JT Tuimoloau was the #9 ranked EDGE in ESPN's pre-draft rankings. I guess I really don't understand football
-
Based on pre-draft "consensus" rankings, we have seen 1,2,3,4,6,5
-
Graham to the Browns seems like a strong pick.

Quinn "La Joya" Ewers - The Man The Myth The Mullet

After this weekend, I hope we can all move on. IMO, QE did the best he could. We cannot ask for more at this point (also, `cuz he's fucking gone). Was he perfect? No. Could he have done better? Yes. Could any of us have done better? No. I hope for his wild success in the NFL. Historically, the most popular player on Texas football team is almost always QB2. -
Necro-bump of this one. Looking for a structural engineer in Austin area. Background - contacted one of the myriad foundation repair companies about an issue with cracked brick on one side of house. They found an issue that requires a decent sum to fix. Before I proceeded, I thought I'd contact a structural engineer to first review before proceeding. Seemed like a fairly obvious (and low cost) check and balance to the foundation company. Seems to be a strong recommendation on other parts of the internets, too. I have a civil engineer friend (med to large firm) who does not have any contacts in the residential space.

Late to address this drivel... Not sure how they run practice, but Reed looks good and the OL looks good. Might have a little to do with DL Stewart, Scourton, and Turner all going to the NFL - all likely in the first 3 rounds. Reed, the OL, and the RBs will look good against a shitty defense. I recall similar reports coming out of Texas from 2010-2020. "Offense looks great." Oh, shit; the defense sucks. We have no idea about the offense. Unimpressive big wins against NMSU, UNT, and Rice expose the weaknesses. -
I have some friends and coworkers who attended Texas A&M and they are great people. Are they the exception or the rule? I tend to believe they are the rule and the loudest and most obnoxious are the exception. The exception rears its head in sports far too often. That aside, what your cousin and her family having to deal with MS really fucking sucks. I cannot imagine what they are going through. I am about 2 decades older than her and whine because my back is stiff after doing yard work. Puts my whining in perspective. I suspect she'd welcome the ability to sway back and forth and whoop.

Going to bring this one front and center again. Holy smokes, that was a hauntingly beautiful version of Born in the USA. The guitar work alone is worth your time. I got chills when he sang, "They're still there; he's all gone," and held "gone" for 10 seconds.

FIL/MIL created UTMAs for their grandkids. Now that many are at majority age, the proceeds are moving to the grandkids. Upon evaluation, some of the investments are in American Funds, which have a 0.6+% expense ratio. Some of these funds fairly closely track indices that have ETFs, with much lower expenses - like 0.03%. In these cases, it seems prudent to move the funds into lower cost alternatives. However, they also inherit the original cost basis, so will have to pay taxes on the gains. By my calculations, an fund with a cost basis of 50% of its present value will incur a reduction of 10% of value to sell. Gains of 50% of value * 20% cap gains tax = 10% taxes paid after sale. With the stated expense ratio deltas and similar returns, the crossover point will be 15 years. A fund with a cost basis of 75% of its present value will incur a reduction of 5% of value to sell. That crossover will be in year 8. Is there a way to do this w/o incurring the tax? I suspect the answer is "no." I am compelled to suggest the beneficiaries move out of these funds. 1 - they'll live far longer than the crossover points above. 2 - they might be tempted to purchase more of the American funds if they are sitting in the account. They'll get lower returns and will likely not have the assets to acquire more at no load (which is how they were originally acquired). Thoughts?

Glad you and your family are OK. Scared the crap out of our family and we weren't in the blast zone. I have a place just across spicewood springs from that area and walk your neighborhood all the time. -

Yes. 10410 was new construction. I walk past it multiple times per week. I mistakenly thought it was the source of the explosion, not 10412, which was clarified by the fire chief. Regardless, crappy for all involved. -

Interesting... My earlier message indicated I thought it was 10410. That was based on photos from 10407. Looks like 10412 blew up and took down 10410 with it. -

The address of 10407 Double Spur might not be correct. That might be across the street from the collapse. The reason I say that is the last picture above is taken from across the street. 10407 has that rock wall. 10410 did not. -

One theory is propane tank explosion. I live close enough to that house to where I would walk past it daily during Covid as part of my exercise regimen. It was totally rebuilt since it was last sold in 2020. -

Largely agree. And I do not believe Milroe is a very good NFL prospect. Richardson had better rushing numbers, but those get neutralized quickly in the NFL. The rookie salary structure makes taking a risk on a QB very palatable. Even an abject failure does not set your franchise back a decade. That's why we're even talking about Richardson and Milroe in the first two rounds. 2025 #2 pick Jayden Daniels got a 4-year $37.75mm contract, using 2.6% of last year's cap and will use 3.9% of the cap in 2027. 1998 #2 pick Ryan Leaf got a 4-year $31.25mm contract. $7mm/year was roughly 15% of the 1998 $52mm salary cap. If Daniels had sucked (he did not), Washington did not make a self-immolating pick. It is a different calculus and low cost QBs have really helped Philly, SF, KC become relevant. Fwiw - mock drafts and Milroe Grok AI: 1.6 Las Vegas CBS Sports: not picked in first round NFL.com: not picked in first round Yahoo sports: not picked in first round Pro Football Network: 3.3 Cleveland NY Post: 1.30 NY Giants (after trade up) ESPN: 3.19 Steelers ESPN Kiper: 2.2 Giants So, the "experts" do not really see him as a first rounder. In 2023, though, the "experts" had Richardson at 1.4, 1.5, 1.10, 1.20, etc. in mock drafts. They may be reacting to really getting it wrong on Richardson or really do believe he's an inferior prospect. Funny aside - one mock had Houston picking Levis at 1.2, Indy picking Stroud at 1.4.
