  1. also where is the info box? what is going on? is it 1983?
  2. that was fucking lucky. get it together, jv.
  3. is the coloring weird? looks like our announcers got radiation poisoning.
  4. yeah, dropping into the left field bleachers.
  5. yainer is bad against lefties. that said, a hitter like him should be great against lefties. at some point, he's gonna need some experience to get better there. it's fine if it's not today, but it needs to happen.
  6. can you keep it under $10mm? indie films are hot hot hot.
  7. 2/3 are only homers in yankee stadium. cool.
  8. "it would really be special to do as a yankee" get fucked, gerrit.
  9. chas with a tough ab, fouls balls off, takes close pitches, walks. he's like a different guy. you really can't take yainer or chas out of the lineup. if you need to play maldonado, yainer is your dh. not sure why it's even a question at this point. we can have 1 defensive player in and that should be meyers or maldonado. never both.
  10. this lineup is auditioning tonight. best not to fuck it up. thanks yainer, see you on monday.
  11. yainer should hit 2nd change my mind.
  12. still find it mildly amusing that after weeks of stories all over social media like "most writers make $12k a year and have a day job", the networks and studios have this feeling they'll "come crawling back". i guess in their minds, the writers are really concerned that the quality of programming will turn to shit. as if. writers won't cave because they're used to the lean times. when i was actually getting paid (occasionally) to write and work on projects, there were always lean times even when i considered myself busy. the strike is no different for 95% of the writers out there. the ones who had their overall deals disappear or their projects halted, well that's a different story. but those are typically the ones with some cash socked away. meanwhile, actors and directors seem too busy getting waivers to come to the table. this is gonna be a while.
  13. there are a lot of people that are saying the trial needs to be done before the election so that the voters can have all the information. i think that's only valid if they allow cameras. that's how we get the information. otherwise it's up to news sources to divvy it up how they choose, which, based on recent court decisions, is not ideal.
  14. oj definitely got better ratings than whatever this would get these days, assuming it was televised, which it won't be. elie honig was pleading today on cnn for them to allow cameras for the trial, which they can do, but he didn't seem hopeful.
  15. i count 7 lies and 1 truth. he did fly today.
  16. on cnn, they actually brought up the oj case (not the murder case) where he tried to get "his stuff" back by using a gun.
  17. they establish that plenty of people told him he lost, so there shouldn't have been any confusion about it. but the shit he did (or conspired with others to do) is illegal whether he won, lost, or lost but thought he won. i'm happy to look at some snippets that you're talking about. i just read it as them building the story to make it easy to follow. i skimmed through it pretty quickly. i thought they pretty clearly avoided charging him with anything that could be explained by "he has the legal right to make his case that he won".
  18. i hope he does. nothing he's accused of hinges on what he thought about the validity of the results.
  19. he can still pitch on regular rest if they do it right.
  20. my favorite part is that he had to wait 20 min for the judge. i assume he doesn't wait for much of anything in his life.
  21. imagine the reptile brain one would need to use to think that the federal indictment of a former president was brought as a distraction.
