  1. seriously. if we wanted gold glove defense dragged down by a .225 avg, 12 homers, and 45 rbi we could've just paid correa $300mm.
  2. ok, so looking ahead... i'm curious if tampa sticks with their 4-man rotation. it looks like mclanahan-bradley-glasnow-eflin the last couple times thru, as off days allowed. they don't play tomorrow, so mclanahan is on track to go friday vs javier. if they stick with it, we'll get glasnow on sunday on regular rest, which is not ideal. he's been nasty. luckily, cleveland plays on thurs (only 4 games scheduled) which means civale goes sunday and we should miss him. he's been their best pitcher.
  3. it's considered bad taste to speak ill of the dead. so if someone could please text me when he dies, i'll have my remarks prepared.
  4. in a stack of bad options, do you gain more putting meyers in the outfield and yordan at dh? or altuve at dh (until completely healed) and dubon at 2nd? as long as yainer is your starting c, everything else kinda takes care of itself. dubon/meyers are fine if they're hitting 9th. diaz is a run producer and he would be hitting 7th or 8th.
  5. according to imdb, there are 6 episodes, and the last two come out in a couple of days. sometimes shows screw up and they're all avail, so not sure if that's what happened or if you watched 4/6. either way, congrats to zazie beetz. it's a real accomplishment to be the most annoying character in a tv show cast that also includes claire danes. brava.
  6. a lot of those hard games are front loaded. you also have to consider the deadline. some of those shit teams will be shittier in a week.
  7. "the astros have been playing good baseball." no, not really. the astros have been playing average baseball and found ways to win games, while finding ways to blow others. we're 13 over, and that's fine, we're banged up. tampa and texas are coming back to the pack a bit. it's just a weird year. chas and bregs and tucker are playing good baseball. other guys have had their moments. winning the first game was key, because we're only 2 back. split the next 2 and we're still 2 back. if we had lost last night, that 2 would be a 4, and that would be frustrating. starting yesterday, we have 3 weeks of rough scheduling. then the final 6-7 weeks has a lot of winnable stretches. just get fucking healthy.
  8. i'm just happy he didn't dive and try to get it with his hand and break his wrist or some shit.
  9. we got a team full of righties that can't resist this pitch. nobody is going to hit it. we just need bregman to teach guys how to pick it up. yainer got better quickly and now teams go up and away to get him out. pena still can't leave it alone. meyers and maldonado are lost causes. they try to work chas with it, but they need to make sure it breaks, otherwise it ends up in the rf seats.
  10. bullpen game for the rangers tomorrow. 10 runs scored by the astros today. likely no yainer, no chas, and certainly no yordan tomorrow.
  11. i avoided this thread after about july 10th and was amused at the thought that we'd be subject to 5-10 min of cillian's dong just because.
  12. according to all the x comments on my x app, he never changed it. maybe if i re-x the post i can get some x's explaining the details.
  13. i'm not comfortable with him playing until he's ready to speak to reporters.
  14. 5 weeks left and 9 teams are within 4-5 games of the playoffs. also trade deadline is in a week.
  15. this post sounds awfully woke to me.
