  1. No neck, shoulder and elbow pain this morning. First time in maybe 6+ months. Wish I hadn't waited so long to see this guy (again).
  2. After I posted last night, the headache got really intense so I took some advil and went to bed. As for the neck and shoulder pain, I still hurt a bit when I woke up at 4AM on the couch, but it was gone when I got up at 9. I know several people who go to the same chiropractor. When you meet him, he seems like a quack, but the results speak for themselves.
  3. I’ve had neck and shoulder pain for most of 2024, and finally went to see a chiropractor that specializes in just adjusting the top 5 vertebrae. The doc said I would feel discomfort for the rest of the day as my neck realigns, and he wasn’t joking. My neck feels like a toothpick holding up a cannonball. And I’ve had a headache that is still lingering after 10 hours. Going to shut it down and go to bed. Let’s hope it’ll feel better tomorrow.
  4. Don't ask me why. I just think it's funny.
  5. Found out that my son's BJJ instructor was a MMA fighter and was known as the "Arm Collector" because most of his wins were him putting his opponents in an arm bar. Dug a little more and am really impressed with his background. I bet he's dying inside teaching little kids. https://www.bjjheroes.com/bjj-fighters/givanildo-santana Main Achievements: World Cup Champion (2003) Pan American Champion (1999 brown, 2005, 2012 weight & absolute master) American National Champion (2009 master) Masters & Seniors World Champion (2001, 2002 weight & absolute, 2003, 2013) World No Gi Champion (2013 senior 2, 2014 master 3 weight & absolute) University League Champion (7x) Brazilian National Championship 2nd Place (1999, 2001, 2002) Pan American Championship 2nd Place (1999 brown absolute, 2006) Masters & Seniors World Championship 2nd Place (2012, 2013 absolute senior 2) Brazilian National Championship 3rd Place (2004)
  6. My kids troll me regularly - "Hey dad, do you want to great song?", followed by Never Gonna Give You Up, or Money (worst Pink Floyd song EVAR). Anyway, All I Want for Christmas is also on the list of songs I don't want to hear. So what does my daughter do? She asks her piano for the sheet music to All I Want for Christmas, and will play it over and over aad over gain, and I can't stop her because I also want her to get better at piano. Yeah, so that's what I have to deal with at home.
  7. One thing we know for sure. Mr. Kaderabek can do math.
  8. If they let me play electric guitar, power chords and whatnot, then I'd saw the bar is LOW on who can serve.
  9. Listened to an economics podcast yesterday talking about the Smoot-Hawley Tariff if 1930 which pretty much made the economy worse during the great depression. According to the Google: Fun fact, it followed the most quoted part of Ferris Bueller's Day Off.
  10. Sorry, just catching up on this thread. So funny, not really, I am in Steven Choi’s district. Looking at the cities he represents, I’m not surprised he won. Orange County isn’t exactly a bastion of liberalism with plenty of (choose combination) of rich, white, conservative Asian, retired, and some not so educated, looking at you Santa Ana. Fun fact. Steven Choi’s son goes to my church. We serve together on the worship and AV teams. Nice guy and all, but I wouldn’t vote for his dad.
  11. Uhhh… total boner killer.
  12. I mentioned my boy has been doing jiu jitsu since July. He’s still on his white belt, but has moved up to go against kids with the next belt up. I’m pleased that he’s doing well, but he’s not having as much now that he’s getting his butt kicked, instead of kicking butt.
  13. Probably the 70+ hours I put in since Thanksgiving. But she didn’t help. And my direct report who blows up over issues that can be easily solved. I was fucking emotionally drained last week. And then the football team shit the bed…
  14. I started feeling a little sick late Sunday, not much, just a light cough. By Monday evening, I felt like I had been hit by a truck. Fever, chills, body ache, loss of appetite, etc. I've been there, done that, no biggy. What I didn't expect was the incredibly painful stomach cramps. It felt like someone had stuck me with a corkscrew, and was turning it slowly. I was doubled up in pain, and may have at some point gotten into a fetal position on my kitchen floor. I've gotten my appetite back and have been eaten some rice and bananas, but my stomach still doesn't feel right. I don't know how to describe it, but it feels like I'm on the verge of more cramps. This is horrible.
  15. Went bowling a few days ago, so this hits close to home.
  16. I wish I was on surly. Some of the meetings are a bunch of VPs in the room saying the same shit 10 times. After the 3rd time, I just want to start yelling at them to STFU and move on to the next agenda item. Boss is a few years younger than me. No. She’s overweight and has a permanent frown and furrowed brows during meetings. Talks too much. To her credit some of the stuff she says actually makes sense. Not saying she’s 100% bad. She just needs to be more observant at times and stop thinking her shit don’t stink.
  17. He would make a lot more money if he could catch a football.
  18. I wanted to fucking quit today. We're trying to close on a $770M project and I'm busting my ass, taking on a part of the proposal where there's clearly a void. My boss came into my office and said she doesn't think my heart is in the project because she noticed that I'm deep in my computer during meetings. Apparently asking questions, and then checking against what I'm seeing in the proposal seems like I'm not paying attention. She also said when I ask questions to clarify, they come across as repetitive because it may have already been asked. I ask the fucking question again because there were inconsistencies that I wanted to clarify. I didn't want to dump on her, but I told her she asks repetitive questions at least 1-2 per meeting and it's because she's not paying attention. I've been doing this for 25+ years. I got promoted to where I am because someone (not her) thought I was competent. I don't need people to micromanage me. And just because I'm not telling her when I'm taking a shit, or when I'm going to pick up my kids, doesn't mean shit's not getting done. That's pretty much what I told her. I also told her I thought about quitting and going somewhere where I'm not putting in 50+ hours each week, and another 16 over the Thanksgiving weekend. I think that caught her off guard a bit, but I've honestly thought about it. Anyway, just needed to vent. I picked up my kid, am going to eat dinner and headed back to the office. Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck.
