  1. She spins, but may be considered too tall. So is she a spinner? Inquiring minds want to know.
  2. Can’t speak for southern baptists and the “conservative” Christians throwing their weight into politics. Our pastors are VERY careful not to bring politics into our church and I appreciate that a lot. What other people do in the name of Christianity affects us. But at least I can say we try, and emphasize the try, to do the right thing.
  3. May be an unpopular opinion, but Nuno Bettencourt is my jam. Technically impressive, and his tone is out of this world (essentially a Pro-Rat pedal into a 5150-like amp.
  4. I mentioned this in another thread - my mom doesn’t know how to close Chrome tabs on her phone. You know how the app shows you how many tabs you have open with a number? Well, if it’s over 100, you get a 😃 instead.
  5. Allow me some pessimism this afternoon https://www.nytimes.com/2023/07/15/us/politics/ukraine-leopards-bradleys-counteroffensive.html The minefields are primarily what's slowing down the attack. Hopefully the Ukrainians can use cluster munitions to clear the minefields.
  6. Didn’t mention it is a Lodge skillet which comes with a slightly rough finish (imagine 100 grit sandpaper). I had several bad layers of seasoning over the years so I used steel wool and sandpaper to get it down to bare metal in some places and then went further. The finish now isn’t exactly Teflon smooth, but it feels smoother than 400 grit paper.
  7. I didn’t know you could season a cast iron pan on a stove top. I spent almost and entire day using the oven method to put on 3 layers of seasoning. Switched to doing it on the stove and put on another 4 beautiful layers within 3 hours. I’ll still need to put it in the oven because the sides are a tad sticky, but the bottom is a chef’s kiss.
  8. My dad had cataract surgery and corrected his near sightedness at the same time (I didn’t know anything like that exists). I called to check in on him and he said his “eyesight is great, and did you know your mom has really saggy skin on her neck?”
  9. I stand by my words. I’ve known them for a long time now and he’s one of the nicest guys I know and his wife walks all over him. Even my wife looked at the text chain and said he needs to stand up for himself. If the kids were 3 and 1, then I’d give them a pass, but they’re 12 and 10 and don’t need a babysitter.
  10. My friend who drove to SD last week… Radio silence after that. He’ll probably come to me on Sunday and complain about how the kids didn’t really need him. I seriously want to do this to him.
  11. My HS girlfriend’s cooch smelled like Taco Bell hot sauce. When I (occasionally) get Taco Bell, I’m reminded of her.
  12. Had someone in my b-school class who also also finished his sentences with "who you know what I'm saying?". In one of the classes, the professors finally got sick of it and said "No, I don't know what you're saying, please explain what you mean", and then proceeded to stare him down. That guy, at least in the class, never said it again. Maybe you should do the same when she's on the rag. She's gonna be pissed for a few days, but hey she's on the rag, you're not gonna get any anyway.
  13. Williams has had the best looking livery the past 2 years.
  14. Finally getting around to watching the walking dead. So what’s with these people walking around in tank tops and shorts? I’d be wearing a football helmet, body armor made out of bits of plastic and lint, wearing 3 scarves, cut resistant gloves and rain boots 24 x 7.
  15. Oceanside always seems cooler than San Diego or Orange County, but it is just a cool place to hang out. It's also where I saw about 6 college aged girls in their bikinis who looked like they belong in an Abercrombie & Fitch catalog. Unfortunately my family was with me so I couldn't creep them. *womp womp*
  16. That happened to me with a BOA card many years ago. Ended up just cancelling the account altogether instead of getting another card.
  17. My friend’s wife called him from San Diego saying her tire pressure light came on. The pressure on one particular tire was 28 psi while the others were at 30. She didn’t “feel comfortable” driving it and wanted him to drive 50 miles to help her. When he got there, she was at a gas station next to the air pump. No leak, tire pressure probably just dropped because the temperature had dropped. Needless to say he was livid, but I have him shit anyway for not putting his foot down and tell her to drive home.
