  1. Is it wrong to be a xxx critic? Because there’s some sexy stuff and then there’s some downright nasty shit. I reserve my right to poo poo on the unsavory videos.
  2. Just a random thought here… If they had put 100 airbag type devices on the hull and triggered it as a emergency floatation device, would it work at that depth?
  3. People who interview well, then fail in person. Let's leave it at that for now.
  4. I had a perfect day with the kids yesterday. My wife was sick so it was just me and the kiddos. Started off with them making me toast with peanut butter and sliced bananas (Elvis special). After church, we had Indian food (which my wife wouldn’t eat), watched Elemental at an AMC theater with reclined seating. They helped me wash my car. And finally they helped make dinner - perfectly medium rare strip steak and grilled zucchini. It couldn’t have been a better day and I’m lucky to have these 2 awesome kids.
  5. We took it out yesterday, and that little thing is FAST. Some Youtube videos say it can get up to 30 mph, and I'd believe it. All this from a little 240 size motor. The ESC seems to be on or off without anything in between, and at full speed, trying to get it under control is daunting. My kid says it's too fast for him, but with a few battery packs worth of practice, hopefully things will slow down for him.
  6. Depends on a lot of things. Maybe. A certain number of buyers with small children will absolutely want a tub. Is there another tub in the house? Anecdotally a lot of my clients on new builds will go with showers; so there will be a market upon resale but if you live a neighborhood that is mostly young families it may cost you a motivated buyer. There will still be a tub in the master bath. We had young kids when we moved in, and we'd bathe them in our tub. After they were old enough, they graduated to showering in their own bathroom, and they rarely, if ever take a bath anymore. We're within walking distance to elementary and middle school within walking distance, and there are a decent number of kids. but also a lot of households with older, or no kids. There are a lot of other things going for the location besides good schools, so people will without kids should be interested as well.
  7. Did he say that before or after the crossfit person?
  8. When I renovate my kids’ bathroom later this / early next year, if I “lose” value on the house if i take out the tub and just have a shower?
  9. That's awesome that you're continuing what mama and grandma loved to do, and make delicious jelly But I gotta ask a serious question...
  10. Do you live in rural Pennsylvania? What do Amos and Mary think about you losing your streak?
  11. Did you already have the radio, receiver and servo? I remember building my Tamiya kit more than 30 years ago and it was really educational. I’d be down to building a kit with my kid, but it seems like other than the “cheap” Tamiya kits, most of the other kits are competition level and really expensive.
  12. Just bought this for… ahem… my son. Team Associates Reflex 14B. It’s 1:14 scale with a 240 motor and only takes small batteries (probably 2200 mah max). I didn’t think he’s ready for anything bigger or faster at this point. If ahem… he likes it, then we’ll get a 1:10 scale buggy later on.
  13. Riding with my boy and realizing he needs a bigger bike. 8 years old and almost as tall as his 11 year old sister.
  14. What are you looking for and where are you looking? I need a new couch and can’t seem to find anything good.
  15. Okay fine. One more photo before I go on hiatus. I don’t recall the last time she transferred eggs from the box to the tray. It’s probably not a big deal to some of you, but it’s bugged me for the past 16.5 years.
  16. Thanks nnm. Thinks aren’t as bad as I make it out to be. It’s just more fun to bitch on an internet message board. Re counseling, I had about 3-4 years, primarily for my temper, but the last counsellor also had a background in child development, and she was AMAZING. She really turned around my life, and taught me a lot of me skills to deal with my kids - who are actually really really good compared to some of their wild friends. I guess it’s time for me to take a break from posting my stuff on this thread and just give a few reactions. Again thanks for the concern.
  17. Wife: The kids are out of school, we should go somewhere before summer camps start up. Me: We spent a week in Hawaii over spring break, do we really need to go somewhere? Wife: Yes, we can just go to San Diego for the weekend. I booked a hotel, it's $400/night. Me: We live 90 miles up the freeway, we don't need to spend the night... So we spent $400 to stay in a hotel (not to mention a crappy $120 breakfast buffet), and we stayed in San Diego for less than 20 hours. Not quite as bad as Knoxtnhorn's wife and SIL's boondoggle to NO, but pretty close. If only my wife spent 10% of her energy decluttering the house instead of booking the next getaway, we'd have a much cleaner house and a bigger bank account.
