  1. Went trout fishing for the first time near Baffin bay this past weekend. Good times were had, limits were reached. Couldn't find the reds though and the drums weren't biting.
  2. Probably not unless we just ball out this season and land/flip some late national prospects I think it will be a top 5 really solid class, especially on the heels of a teriffic class last year, but even with Arch and Baxter, it wont have enough of the top level 5 star recruits to be that high. You would need to start landing the Anthony Hills (guess there is a shot there) and David Hicks (think that train has left the station) to be a top 3 class. We are still sorely missing the elite DL/edge rushers. And while I think the 2024 TX recruiting class is a bit down compared to the last couple, there are some great options there to fill that need with guys like Zina (Allen) and Simmons (Duncanville)
  3. Stroh is a slow footed OT, that is true. He doesn’t have great feet. I still think he can be a terrific guard for Flood.
  4. After watching what happened last cycle, bags will be wide open for mr Baxter that weekend. No way in hell they let him out of there without 7 figures promised.
  5. FWIW - Spencer has been tearing it up and random camps hes been at this summer. Now the opposition at these camps can sometimes be lacking or be underclassmen, but at least he did what he was suppposed to do in that sort of environment.
  6. Anyone figured out the mess that is IAH recently? Have a Thursday evening flight and have heard some horror stories of getting in and out because of traffic/construction. Should I just do the normal offsite parking or look at parking at a different terminal than shuttling/train to terminal c?
  7. My kid loved it because it had dinosaurs eating people and attacking other dinosaurs. It served it’s purpose and well; go see it because it’s the last of the series, not because of expected award winning acting. It’s a movie about dinosaurs for fucks sake.
  8. I know the collins family, from Tomball. area. Shitty deal for sure and a good family. I think one of the older boys was a volunteer umpire for Tomball Little League during his free time.
  9. Deen’s has terrible reviews from anyone I know that’s been there. Jake’s on Chimney Rock was my jam back in the day when I wasn’t getting the Texican from Texadelphia.
  10. This is a safe space where you share the license plate info and we make this guys life hell.
  11. Check cleared!!!!! Honestly I probably should expect a smaller less impressive OL class this year based on numbers alone from last class. That’s going to be harped on by pretty much everyone.
  12. This is the news thread right? Right? I still haven't seen anything released on motive, has that been hinted at anywhere yet other than the history of him shooting his grandmother for an unknown reason? I did see on reddit (a neighbor maybe) considered the kid a loner.
  13. i wonder how much of that payroll protection program money went to their recruiting slush fund?
  14. Never had one and kid never mentioned it. Glad to hear they teach it though.
  15. Lots of breaks need to be given out in this thread. Not surprising due to the emotional nature of this though. Surprised he was able to get in so quickly and easily, but most schools seem to have some portable buildings at this point which wouldn’t have the same security as main buildings. Probably need to have a talk with my kid about what to do in this scenario; do they teach that at all in school like fire drills and whatnot?
  16. I expect next year the initial assessed value will be the full 10% greater than it is now, or around $700k. The market value will probably jump north of that, and I would think perhaps I can argue a small reduction in both values. Not holding my breath though.
  17. So I assume this dude is no longer welcome in Russia, no?
  18. Mid 2020 purchase price 540k 2021 agreed upon value 545k 2022 initial market value 721k, initial assessed value 599k. HCAD sent me a response to my isettle offer yesterday and agreed to reduce market value to 638k, which of course saves me a total of $0 this year. Maybe it will help next year, but probably not.
  19. These are true, and exporting more natural gas to Europe to replace capacity lost from Russia is a real thing. The leading cause is still a lack of production compared to previous years. Demand has increased and extraction/production has either stayed static or dropped since really December of last year. Natural gas increased prices almost identically match that time frame. And beside the point, even if we did produce more, not sure we could do anything with it because we don’t have infrastructure to transport it, convert it to LNG etc. because of lawsuits, regulation/permitting issues etc.
  20. No to fracking. No to drilling. Cancel the pipelines. Regulate LNG. Why is electricity and gas so expensive? lol it’s not the winterization costs, fyi. Look at spot natural gas prices, which is the biggest driver for variation in electricity costs. Went from $4/mmbtu to $8 in 6 months, and it’s still rising.
