  1. I guess you haven’t read much Memphis news lately. It’s calmer in Beirut.
  2. Actually they will rehire him with a new $11 mil a year 20 year contract while they have to pay him $76m because of no mitigation.
  3. They are trying to hide the fact they are a tool of the Saudi sports program and that A&M will be hosting camel races at Kyle field soon.
  4. You can go to the casino in Choctaw. Drive to Memphis and get murder death kilt. Go to Tupelo for Elvis shit or buy a recliner. Stay in Oxford and go see drunkass William Faulkner stupid shit.
  5. They love those incentive contracts and I do too, but they don’t work the way these fools think they do. The point of them is to avoid the stupidity of expensive extensions for a single good season. So unless you’re hiring an ingrate, the contract is going to be at minimum competitive to the market. If the median for the top schoools is $8m (just numbers for talking) that’s the starting point, so maybe you’re in at 4 or 5 years at $8.5. The incentives sometimes are stupid. $100k for a bowl appearance. Huh. Win 6 games to go to a minor bowl that is a money loser? Nope. If expectations are what this yo-yo says then it’s $500k for an SEC Championship and a mill for an NC. Done. And no autoextension for 10 years at $12mil with a 10% escalator each year.
  6. This. Having spent too much of my life as a TexPat the search for TexMex is a futile effort in disappointment. When we lived in SanFran an On the Border opened in the far South Bay. We drove two hours to get Califoricated slop. Worse was our 3 years in Portland. No Mexican food at all back then worth a shit. It was like the PNW was where Mexicans that couldn’t cook worth a shit were all sent there. Whenever we came back we left DFW and went to el Fenix or el Chico or Taco Cabana or Abuelos or whatever we first came to.
  7. Kyle should be strapped to a drone boat and sent to a beach near Gaza City.
  8. The records for coaches leaving and finding success elsewhere is remarkable.
  9. Based on the rankings of their recruiting classes that isn’t an issue. Their issue has been an idiot megalomaniac for a coach.
  10. The runners need to make sure any guest have some personality and some football knowledge. Wahlberg is a douche. The show is best with Mannings and a handful of good guests; most of them suck.
  11. I likes your recipe better than Leah chase’s. I’d had gumbo z’herbes uears back at some home in the wall and it popped up. I also didn’t put romaine lettuce or spinach in there. Actually the only real difference when I made it vs making a pot of greens really was the roux.
  12. This was standard table set up at lots of places, but as noted above it was what you got at El Fenix, El Chico (our usual when the Cuellars owned it), and most mom and pops. Back then the TexMex joints in Arkansas also offered all this, and when I lived in Memphis you got complementary queso (cheese dip back then) too. I forgot but many would put a basket of saltines out there too. Back then your platter was put under the salamander to melt the cheese sprinkled on top of your enchiladas and tamales, and to put a nice top crust on the refried beans which were 40% bacony lard. When they said “your platter is hot!” it was at least 700 degrees.
  13. I hope he makes the transition to bricks. I’ve had one Gusto’s burger and it rocked.
  14. As a kid, most TexMex joints would load the table with chips, “hot sauce” in a pitcher, ice water, then bring a bowl of jalapeños, onions, and carrots en escabeche, butter pats, and hot corn tortillas. Most had a killer punch that I later learned was basically sweet tea, pineapple juice, and red food color. With the big dinners you’d get pineapple sherbet or peppermint ice cream, and often a bigass praline. I know of no joint still doing a huge setup like that anymore. But the flavor profile back then of these places I am still in search of. It’s probably a combination of lard, masa, and the chile powder available then, and the soul of the abuelita in back running the kitchen.
  15. Maybe that can serve as a good warning about eating lots of sugar and HFCS laden Route 44 drinks.
  16. So four teams have had the ball for over 40 minutes and gotten 4 takeaways in the modern era. Bears the first to lose. Fields had a helluva game still lost. They will probably have number 1 pick and more. What will they do with Fields?
  17. In college I was the frat pres. I get a call. You gotta get over here. Fucking Jones is fucking OD’ing! Oh fuck! this as in olden times around 1980. I get there. This dude as spasming like crazy but could talk. “ what the fuck did you take! Coke? Speed?" "cccofffeeeee!". someone came out of the kitchen with a car of instant folgers. he drank the whole jar. he drank the equivalent of 32 cups of coffee. it was during exams. they took him to the hospital. the dude was never the same. he switched from a marketing major to drama. quit school and moved to nyc. got a spot on a soap opera without a line and was never heard from again.
  18. Saturday night game do national. Lions game so maybe these old guys can bring some big game mojo to the current team.
  19. Thats better than jardiance. In the fine print in that spot with the dancing big gal it says it will make your taint rot out with gangrene.
  20. C4 couldn’t afford that much publicity. He got 2.5 sack out of the gate. What energy! I want some of that! Fuck if the it blows up my heart!
  21. It just costs like $35 a plate
  22. I think Gronk has been displaced by Kelce on the ad front.
  23. This Texans team really reminds me of early Jimmy Johnson’s Cowboys. They are building the team right and DeMeco had that winning team building mindset.
  24. They have to draft or FA some o line help. Steele sucks but has a big guarantee. Tyron and Martin getting old/injury prone.
  25. Dumb. It’s a common trait on all Cowboys teams in recent years. Jimmy’s first question looking at talent was their iq. Stupid didn’t last long with him.
