  1. This is a great dish. I use a whole jar of the sliced pepperocini instead as it makes better eating. I also add lemon zest, capers, and some Kalamata olives to the sauce.
  2. Morels grow wild on my son’s land. He uses them to barter for stuff as he isn’t going to harvest them again. He has used them for tractor repairs, deer hunting lease swaps, archery parts, etc. he has a friend who introduced him to a chef friend in OKC and he harvests them ( it’s only enough for a one night special) and he and DiL get a free steak dinner with his morels in the sauce. Also gives him some of the cleaned/ trimmed morels for son to put in his deer backstrap Diane dish he makes at home.
  3. So we bailed on S1 after E1 to go back to S1 and start over again. The first season means more knowing all the relationships shown in S2. The arc with Elena’s grandmother dying, the girls trip to the convention, and the decolonization session are as powerful as they are funny. Bev’s emergence as a champion snagged is so funny. I’m really hacked off we’re only getting three seasons. I want these adventures to continue as well as the glimpse into NA life. We’ll really miss it. A-Ho!
  4. I think Gordo was maintaining the corporate diktat that one doesn’t discuss pay with coworkers. He is not a supervisor. He has no business knowing anything. He is a smart dude; he will not admit he has had those conversations.
  5. What is so weird about him? Or unlikeable? I started this not liking his big game play as a qb. After watching this he and his wife seem very centered and likeable, who have avoided a lot of the trappings and attitudes of money and celebrity. As opposed to Mahomes, who I love as a QB but bristle at some of the things in the show, and I find his wife annoying as shit.
  6. I’m reading it had to do with the ncaa rules at the time and that Tuohy was a “booster” of the program. Another reason college players should have been able to have agents.
  7. I think it’s best for both. Maybe zeke can let go of expectations and have a hood last few seasons. Zeke is still good at the goal line, and more important for Mac Jones, remains a devastating blitz pickerupper and blocker. That has been the issue: great role player with an outsize contract. He’s still getting a great contract as a backup at NE. Way more than I thought he would get.
  8. I think if we were able to get total transparency we’d see lots of similar type relationships out there in high schools to get players into districts or private schools. Many won’t have financial issues. It also points to the bullshit of ncaa rules for years that put by players into bad situations of varying issues because they couldn’t have an agent. A lot of this conservatorship appears to be driven by trying to maneuver thru intrusive NCAA rules to protect Oher’s eligibility. At the time they had no clue if he’d even pan out as an SEC lineman. The Touhys are getting pounded by the media because they make the tempting target. It makes a great story to bash a feel good story that had a great message coming from a shithole like Memphis; of course they knew he’d be an nfl starter way back and it would be a bigtime movie. I think we’ll learn the facts aren’t as salacious as the legal-ignorant sports and movie press is making this out to be. The worst part of the movie was it had no scissoring scenes with Kim Pickens and Sandra Bullock.
  9. My prediction : zeke gets a glorious 423 yard season
  10. https://syndication.bleacherreport.com/amp/10086146-alex-collins-dies-at-28-former-rb-played-5-nfl-seasons-with-ravens-seahawks.amp. Damn shame. No cause revealed yet. He’s had his issues. He was a beast at Arkansas, and ran thru the SEC. He was a physical back with technique and looked like the kind of back that could have a good career in the nfl. He had some flashes but just never performed consistently.
  11. The rub with Ruggs and his dunbassery decision making: 1. He’s got a shit ton of money and in Vegas. Take a Lyft. A cab. A stretch. A town car. Get a Raiders valet to go pick up you Vette tomorrow. 2. The NFLPA provides all players a town car service, anonymous to insure players use it. 3. All teams provide their players a town car service, again anonymous. 4. Call Raiders security. They’ll come get you and keep it a secret thru money and NDAs. These were all in place when Josh Brent had his deadly wreck. Probably been improved since then with an NFLPA drunk rescue app or something.
  12. Thank God Jerry listened to Stephen or Will or Charlotte or God that said you’re going to die before you see another ring if you keep fucking up. On another issue, zeke signed with the Pats for an incentive loaded contract that could pay him up to $6m.
  13. You would have thought his nfl agent would have just asked the question “how much you getting from the movie?” Unless his agent is also the Tuohy attorney. “Nothing?” Let me look into that for you.
  14. Vengeance. Justice. Same fucking deal. I value an innocent woman’s life that lost it by being burned to death by being hit by 4000 pounds of car hitting her at 156 miles per hour driven by an entitled drunk moron. I don’t value his life in the least. I’ll take the opposite tack that the bleeding hearts for the poor situation for Henry Ruggs caused by his “mistake” devalues the innocent life CES lost to their stupidity.
  15. That was a fun car. I had a 96. That V6 was a great engine. It’s not worth what you’re wanting to put into it but you can look at it another way. It’s a family heirloom, and you had zero acquired cost, so look at it at that way. Some new skins, refresh the paint, fix some mechanicals…why the fuck not? It’s a cheap date.
  16. Interesting https://www.foxnews.com/sports/native-american-group-calls-commanders-rename-team-redskins-cannot-erase-history.amp
  17. Just now turning on these drought restrictions. Delinquency. When we moved to Portland in 99 there was a drought. Couldn’t water the yard because of drought, but couldn’t wash the car because it was fucking raining.
  18. I think a pollard/deuce/luedke backfield might be pretty good. 43 runs tough and blocks.
  19. You’ve raised you young un right
  20. Over at TexAgs they are all pulling each others puds over the doc. “We need a statue of JFF at Kyle!” “My hero! Greatest player ever lived!” “Thank God the gun jammed! Broken-hearted he wanted to commit suicide!” “Hope I get to do shots with him at the Money bar!” “Look how good he played in Cleveland not watching film!” They defend any money he was paid, act like he’s recovered, and maintain he is a victim of Sumlin and his agent. Fucktards the lot of them,
  21. I’d like to see the records at the end of the season between those that bench their starters in preseason and those that play them a bit. Mahomes and Carr are playing. Lawrence played last night. Also GMFB had the league guy for equipment and they will be testing different helmets for different positions, based on analytics of the different types of hits players have. That could be big for preventing CTE. QB helmets will have extra padding in back as their concussions are caused by back of head hitting the ground, vs a lineman that has repeated hits to top and front of the head.
  22. The innards look great but that tortilla looks as edible as that plate. Gluten is a critical part of the science of a tortilla.
  23. If the prosecutor had actually pursued the earlier case further maybe Britt Reid would have been sent to rehab then. Instead they deferred to the power of the Chiefs. Maybe that little girls wouldn’t be a fucking vegetable. https://www.kctv5.com/2023/04/06/britt-reid-case-file-details-crash-become-public/?outputType=amp
  24. On May 10, 2023, as part of a plea agreement, Ruggs pleaded guilty to one count of DUI resulting in death and one count of MISDEMEANOR vehicular manslaughter. He was sentenced on August 9, 2023 to spend between three and ten years in a Nevada state prison. You seem to be more impressed by the plea the defense attorney was able to craft with a pussified prosecutor than the fact his decision to drive crazy resulted in burning this poor woman alive with the weapon he was driving. I have the same vitriol for Andy Reid’s son who got drunk and turned a little girl into a vegetable. I thought a prefrontal lobotomy for him would have been a better sentence. But then again no one talks about Andy Reid’s shitty track record as a father.
