  1. It’s a HHR which happened after GM hired the guy who designed the PT Cruiser from Chrysler
  2. I haven't done a livestock update for awhile, but probably should with the things going on. We are actually running cattle and hog plants ahead of a year ago pace now, but will have a short week next week. Fresh pork and beef are at the lower end of the ranges which should aid in restocking. Assuming we can keep the plants moving cattle supplies will get tighter into the 4th quarter of the year, while farrowing intentions are down sharply which could leave us pretty tight on hogs into 2021 especially if exports keep up the rebound.
  3. At least Carter was able to become one of our best ex-Presidents, I don't see that happening here.
  4. Maybe we stop making the one black guy have to be the lightning rod for everything. I’m sure Wallace’s team has been getting an enormous amount of shit from racist cranks already. You had fucking people flying Confederate flags about the race track like Greg Davis is running the organization, and everyone’s on edge. People got excited and carried away, but it’s not like it ended in any sort of brutality unlike a lot of interactions I could mention. But, sure let’s try and funnel all shit on to Bubba instead, regardless of who reported and how the officials handled it.
  5. I can’t say I’m surprised by that.
  6. I feel like the way they’ve cranked up the crazy that means they can feel the tide rolling out, but that’s probably being generous
  7. Just think there were people that fucking camped out in Tulsa in the summer heat for this
  8. Maybe this will lead to an inverted Ceausescu where instead of the crowd turning on him, they’ll stop turning out triggering administration collapse that way
  9. If a bunch of folk that love noodling aren’t turning out, I don’t think you can blame on worries about personal safety
  10. Generally the rule of thumb is a silo footing needs a 100 yards of concrete, so I suppose it’d be similar to that.
  11. It works better if you build a shouse, that way you can step out of your living room and do some welding
  12. I'll always remember learning about Juneteenth as a non-Texan. I was 13 years old in the mid-90's, and visiting my Aunt and Uncle near Giddings, and we got brisket out of a shed that a guy my uncle worked with had made to celebrate it. It was the first brisket I had as that particular piece of barbecue culture had not made it north to the beef state yet in significant amounts. The experience left quite an impression on me.
  13. An adopted teenage boy that he never mentioned before today as well.
  14. Just so I'm clear, Gaetz is definitively fucking his page, right?
  15. Besides the fact that they were obvious racist caricatures, how many people even registered what the selling points of those stereotypes are for the non-old demographic?
  16. Say what you want about the flag, but the Dukes were right about cops.
  17. My experience has been that those types only know who to scream pro-life as shibboleth to avoid grappling with anything outside the cult they've adhered themselves too.
  18. Livestock continues to calm down. Packers are at 98% on cattle, and 93% on hogs now. Fresh pork and beef are back into normal ranges, biggest residual issue currently is processed meats are tighter because of the production hole last month.
  19. I saw a lifted early 2000’s Chevy 2500 with farm plates and justice for George Floyd soaped on to the back window the other day. I was pleasantly surprised
  20. In general, James Ellroy nails the fucked upness of American law enforcement better than anybody if we are going by the source material
  21. I'll note that gasoline demand has pretty well plateaued for now at about 72% of normal, and American was celebrating that they had they best day in months at 20% of a year ago.
  22. Even now, the brazenness of some of the lies still shocks the hell out of me.
  23. It’s from the baseball team named after the American Royal, but I’ve been to the American Royal a time or two.
  24. On the livestock front, fresh beef prices continue to slide, and now are only about 30% ahead of normal, while packers are about back to 97% of normal capacity. Fresh pork is back to near normal seasonally, with about 93% capacity running now. I had one of my pork clients tell me he is finally shipping iso weans that were backed up three weeks, and that he wouldn't need to put any future hogs down.
  25. Good thing Jackie Robinson breaking the color barrier wasn't political at all, or Jack Johnson becoming heavyweight champion of the world, then being hounded for it. If you want to bring up the Olympics, what do you the motives of Baron de Courbertin were with the attempts to restart the games? You don't think politics played a major part in that?
