  1. So as anecdote on how its going in rural America right now, my sister-in-law's mother who lives in NE Wyoming is just short of being on a vent right now. The first 5 hospitals they tried did not have space for her, and she ended up getting the last bed in Billings, MT.
  2. I don’t know how they schedule AF1 but if there was somehow to tell Trump he can’t have it because Joe needs to golf right after the inauguration it’d be great.
  3. If you’ve seen it, it probably ain’t too fucking hard to share it with the class
  4. So my question is whether or not the dog will get a visit from the secret service.
  5. Says something about how far Europe’s come that they can’t do mass graves right anymore
  6. The biggest wackjob professors are always the physical science guys
  7. Yeah, shit ain't great right now, and there's not really a situation that's going to make it great for a bit. So people can either spend their time wringing their hands about stuff like this, or perhaps do something to help alleviate in the mean time by looking for ways to support people who are suffering both from encouraging gov't policies to help them, and to support the people you know personally instead of hoping for something magical to happen to fix things.
  8. Of all the things that suck about Gundy, the constant failure vs OU is the worst
  9. I’ll just note that my boss who was a fullback for Nebraska in the early 90’s and has extensive ties to the current staff was at the game today on gifted parent tickets and he left midway through the 3rd quarter today. Generally speaking losing boosters like him is bad news for a staff.
  10. Rick Perlsteins Goldwater/Nixon/Regan trilogy
  11. Yes, but Tyson is the OU of the group
  12. It takes a lot to be the biggest assholes in meat packing, and Tyson manages to get past the Batista brothers who managed to get indicted for corruption in Brazil, and fucking Cargill, and China owned Smithfield
  13. You have to get up pretty early in the morning to be the biggest assholes in the packing game, and Tyson never misses a sunrise
  14. At least one of the nice things about the internet is that it allows me to send my nearly 91 year old grandma who still lives at home in a hot spot chocolate and large print crossword books easily. Also I’m glad she’s taking it seriously. (A lot of credit goes to her church looking at the congregation, and noping into radio services right away)
  15. So in utterly infective COVID window dressing up here, instead of playing the state football championships in Memorial Stadium where you can scatter a crowd pretty good, they’re playing them at school sites, so we’re going to have 1500 people standing shoulder to shoulder at lighted patch of grass in Shickley.
  16. I hope this ends with various administration members bickering like Donitz and Raeder in Spandau about who fucked up worse
  17. Everything you like seems realistic to the non-curious among us.
  18. I’m pretty sure the high school rule is just to try and give cover to finishing the playoffs
  19. The sentient thumb running the state in which I live, steadfastly refuses to mandate masks but basically said we are going to back to the spring lockdown protocol except for allowing high school sports in front of immediately family once we hit 25% of hospital beds filled with Covid patients. We are at 20% today, and at the current pace will hit that around next Thursday. The anti-mask people in Omaha at least called off their plan to all show up at HyVee mask free to shop. The chancellor of UNL also is begging people not to have football watch parties. (One could argue Scott Frost has been doing that with his coaching, but here we are)
  20. The Lincoln and Omaha hospitals have flat out said they can’t take anymore transfers from the rural areas either.
  21. They want people’s social security numbers for real?
  22. I keep wondering if hospital capacity is going to come into play at some point. Lincoln is starting to get overrun now, and I would think you would have a hard time hosting a game if there was no local capacity available as a precaution. It was talked about this summer that NASCAR need assurances of available spots to run their summer race at Texas.
  23. So the guy in my office clinging to this angle the hardest actually committed voter fraud since he pretends to live at his parents farm to dodge the intown wheel tax on his bro-dozer, and thus voted in the country. (Which only effects local races I guess since it didn't change his district for any federal race)
  24. I just don't see what legal angle they want to pursue there, as it's a free fucking country, and people skip as many of the races as they feel like on their ballots.
