  1. Solid rain for the last half hour at westgate/290
  2. Looks like probably the backside of a neighborhood sign
  3. Probably because we've already paid considerably more
  4. There was a pretty interesting feature in last months Texas Monthly regarding Slick Rick and his advocacy for psychedelics as a treatment. I don't have any form of ptsd or any out of the ordinary trauma, but just the introspection that occurs is enough to clear the board mentally, in my limited experience.
  5. The prose of that post, with how it's put together along with the descriptors...I highly doubt this occurred. This seems like obvious whoring for attention. Not unlike the 'look at the good deed I'm doing' videos that I see on LinkedIn
  6. My brain automatically started singing as I was reading that. Good to see I wasn't the only one
  7. Saw a YouTube video on the dude who got trapped in nutty putty. That has got to be about the worst way to go. I put it up there with the people who get crushed between train cars but remain alive until the cars are pulled apart.
  8. Was driving through Greeneville Tx a minute ago and noticed this guy flying around low. At first i thought he was landing, then remembered im in greenville. Training run?
  9. The Big Country is how I've described that area. Most of that area is in the upper brazos basin. I tend to think of Texas Hill country as being the in the Colorado and Guadalupe basins west of 35.
  10. The large joro looks identical to what I grew up calling a garden spider. I loved feeding those things grasshoppers as a kid.
  11. Here's a pic of some of some of the construction crew from 1942. Was one of the first construction projects my grandad worked on coming out of the CCC training. I may have an opportunity to get involved with the current work re: groundwater remediation.
  12. Anyone else enjoying today's OXY rocket ride?
  13. Question for folks that may know: I was reading up on descriptions of the thermobaric weapons, and I understood them to be similar to BLEVE explosions. Is that an accurate association?
  14. CNN just ran a story saying it was destroyed, though not sure if they were confirming or just reporting the rumor
  15. Call an ambulance if you're concerned about the roads. I wouldn't fuck around and give that thing a chance to rupture.
  16. On mine, the peg board is on hidden track assembly that's integral/riveted to the main body. There are a couple of angle brackets that you install on the bench when it's raised to secure in place. Not sure if they sell this assembly separately. I installed a couple of Rubbermaid FastTrack shelves above the peg board (high enough not to bump my head) and store my lumber on that. I'd take a picture, but my garage is embarrassingly messy at the moment
  17. I was thinking about doing something like that, but I ended up building a tall workbench on 4in casters and mounted my vice and bench grinder. The table height on the Milwaukee bench sucks for me when I'm doing stand up work. I mainly use it when tinkering with parts and various small mechanical breakdowns (sitting).
  18. I bought the same bench a couple of summers ago. Big fan of it.
  19. Follow up point for those interested: three year olds+ like the songs from Bobs Burgers. Bad Stuff Happens in the Bathroom and Electric Love are the favorites of my kiddos
  20. It's been a while since I've read through this thread and I know it's already been mentioned a few times, but +1 for Bluey. Not only is it bearable to watch, I dare say it's enjoyable. The one where Bandit takes Bluey and Bingo to the pool by himself is as accurate of real life as just about anything I've seen
