  1. Awesome. My friend (UT Grad/Austin Native) is coming in from Australia with his family over the 4th and we will be in Galveston. Will definitely try to make it to FG. I'll let you know when to put that Meatloaf on the schedule.
  2. Yes, that is definitely badass and surprised it really isn't something other brands haven't implemented in some fashion.
  3. I wear a lot of earth tones outside of work. I also love straps. But in a "sports" watch I want a bracelet. Some of the rubber/sailcloth options are ok too, but leather can't go swimming in the ocean with me.
  4. It seems like someone on Shaggy talked about using a watch rental place. Anyone tried something like that? Might be a good way to try a few things out for several months before making any commitment.
  5. I love my IWC to the point I barely wear anything else. Just a great watch and I won't get rid of it. But next to the Overseas it just doesn't compare. That said, I only have a Pilot Spitfire with grey dial, so not a Portugieser or something at a more similar level.
  6. absolutely, but quite honestly I don't want to put that much thought into it. My grey IWC goes with everything. I think blue basically fits the bill for an "every day" wearer as well. People don't question it. Brown is a little different and as much as I like it, blue may be a better option. Or the white, that would fit pretty much any situation I'd find myself.
  7. Is this heaven? No, its meatloaf. Will this be an every Friday thing? Also, what is your schedule surrounding the 4th?
  8. I really hate the quote feature on this website. And the delete function for previous replies that you just want to remove the quote. That said, very good to know that the brown doesn't look as sharp in person. The non-VC pictures I've seen are underwhelming compared to the website. The brown wouldn't work as an everyday, because I wear a lot of grey/blue suits. But going out it would be something that I could wear pretty much any time. Lot's of jeans and earth-toned shirts. The blue is pretty amazing and is a more "accepted" color compared to the brown. Less coordination. Anyone seen the white?
  9. Setting up for a granny gangbang record it sounds like.
  10. I've done that with my IWC. It dominates over everything else but this Overseas just blows me away. I'd probably keep the IWC as the everyday wearer at the office. Fucking love the brown dial though. They don't have it though so haven't seen it in person.
  11. Speaking of Centennial. I hit up Centennial Liquor there on Guadalupe during halftime of the Notre Dame game in 1996. Smuggled in a handle of Jim Beam. In the bottle. I'm guessing its a little more difficult to smuggle in liquor these days.
  12. https://www.vacheron-constantin.com/en2/watches/overseas/overseas-chronograph-5500v-110a-b147.html hmmmm Checked out the blue yesterday and its just amazing but I think I may prefer the brown. https://www.vacheron-constantin.com/en2/watches/overseas/overseas-chronograph-5500v-110a-b148.html Also thinking I'm nuts for considering this.
  13. I'm coming around on this somewhat. I really like this album. It just should not be The National. Once you set aside the name of the band, it really has some great songs.
  14. It's a mess and I haven't watched it in years other than occasionally checking in to see if they talk about Texas. Someone basically stated it above, but ESPN:Sports = MTV:Music. Ain'tNobodygottime.gif
  15. The problem is it isn't about sports, its about making "reality TV". I think this is due in part to attempt to make the network more desirable for women viewers, and also because that's just the trend in network programming. The sports is real enough. Most of the programming isn't about showing sports action/breaking down sports action, its about creating drama. If I watch sports, I want to watch sports. Maybe an occasional human interest story, but stay focused on the goal. Provide sports and sports analysis. Politics needs to be kept out of it. ESPN has enough programming for 1 24-hour channel. They have so many channels they have to fill them all up with shit. It's like 24-hour news. There's only so much interesting content. The rest is shit. If games overlap, provide a streaming option. People are too busy to spend time watching shit and they don't want to pay for shit. Give me a 1-hour SportsCenter. A one-hour Gameday. Actual sports content that I care about watching. One-hour show of reasoned analysis. I'd take that channel. The rest is fluff and people are tired of paying for the remaining 99% of shit.
  16. Re: Bash Brothers This is thirty minutes of my life that I'll never get back. And there will probably be at least another 15 or 20 times I won't get those thirty minutes back. Pretty great is selling that short.
  17. Tiger definitely faded. But his first 12 holes were pretty great. Easily could have been 9 under through 12. Cantlay's round was on another level. Just rock solid play even after he had the lead and a hell of a comeback victory. Jordan putted pretty great today to make up for a lot of loose shots but overall his game certainly seems to be getting back to where he can compete in the majors. Good to see, but I wish he had a different demeanor on the course. Adam Scott's game is on point.
  18. And he's missed two birdie putts of less than 10 feet.
  19. Baseball screwed the pooch and changed the format. Texas got screwed two years because of this. Flip those years and Texas wins both titles based on the format. They lost both. But golf and baseball are different sports. I really like the format now in NCAA golf. You prove your team is good, then you check the mettle of the individual players in head to head combat. Golf is an individual game, so show what you can do as an individual when someone is right there matching you shot for shot. Its much easier when your score may/may not count because your team is full of badass golfers and you are 20 strokes in the lead. Its much different head to head and you have a one-shot lead going into the final hole.
  20. Agreed to some extent. But having played a bunch of tournaments in my past, its a different game with Match play vs. Stroke. And not to take anything away from OSU and their overall excellence, but making golf a one on one matchup is fun. You have to beat your opponent and now its not just you against yourself, but you against someone else. Its an added challenge. It isn't for every tournament, but for the NC, you need to face off against your opponent and I like this format. Prove your team is good. Prove your players can stand up to the challenge.
  21. I tried for a long time to make this my gif/avatar on the old site and could never get it to work. My favorite as well.
  22. Definitely a tough loss but they just outplayed us today. Future looks bright.
  23. It's a nice looking course. Greens roll fine, but just interesting how many putts are off on distance which makes me think they are inconsistent.
